Although a direct trip to Cape Engaño is included in the boat package we have contracted, our three-person group decided to do the Palaui Island adventure the conventional way: trekking!
Baratubot Falls is located near the first few parts of Leonardo Trail, the more challenging route to the Cape Engaño coming from Punta Verde. It would be a short detour from the Lagunzad Trail, the easier and most common route to the cape.
Baratubot may not be as grand as the more famous waterfalls in the country, but the facade and gently-cascading waters of the three-tiered falls will give you serene feeling. Add up to that the natural vibe of the thriving vegetation!
Guide fee for the trek via Lagunzad Trail is standardized at P300 for a group of up to 5 persons, inclusive of the following destinations: Baratubot Falls, Cape Engaño Lighthouse and Cape Engaño Falls. I'm not sure if the same rate applies if your route will be via Leonardo Trail.
