We settled for this branch of Barrio Fiesta when the first 3 restaurants we were eyeing were all fully booked for Father's Day. Daddy is a certified Crispy Pata "lover" and we wanted to indulge him, if only for this special day. Mommy suggested we try this branch since Barrio Fiesta "invented" Crispy Pata. We arrived before 11:30am, they took our orders and we waited...and waited...and waited. It took them over 1 hour and 2 follow-ups later for them to serve us our Chicharon Bulaklak,
which was slightly overcooked, with some pieces already quite bitter (too burned) in taste. The rest of our orders trickled in soon after, one after the other and with additional follow-ups on our end. Our final follow up was for the Adobong Pusit we ordered and it was only then that somebody approached us (one of the owners, I guess) to say that she had cancelled our order since it didn't look good when it came out from their kitchen. That really annoyed my Mom (that was her order) and all of us as well. The least they could have done was approach us once they saw something was off with the order instead of waiting for us to ask about it. While the food was not bad, it was nothing that great either. It simply isn't the same Barrio Fiesta of my childhood, in terms of taste and service. While they claim to have "invented" Crispy Pata, there are other places with far better versions of the same.
In summary, it was an unpleasant dining experience. We spent more time waiting for our food than time spent enjoying our meal. While we took into consideration the fact that they were still on soft opening, our over an hour's wait was simply too much. They weren't even full. They should have made special provisions for Father's Day.
