Carving station serves a decent roast beef. Seafood Casserole comes second. Few dessert choices though. Ambiance is also good i must say

Dusit Use to hv the hottest buffets in the metro. .... I noticed the food selection now is still the same as they have japanese , vietnamese soup, paella, appetizer salad and cheese but with limited variety, Indian food, Local food , carvings but not good as compared to others , grilled meat, and juice drinks..., dessert has pastry and halo halo. Overall, the variety is still there, but the guality and taste has become average. For the price, I cannot complain...still a good option for guest staying in the hotel or business clientele working in the vicinity

Sulit especially with the Citibank promo! Loooots of good foods and drinks to choose from. Some may be better than the others. Nevertheless, it gets you to go around, try more and leave with a full stomach.

What separates Basix from the other buffet restos is that there is less crowd. Thus, less competition. The place is big, the interior is sophisticated, the service is excellent, and the parking can be validated.

My personal favorites are the dumplings and dessert section.

Ordered this CHILLED dalandan while waiting for someone at the their lounge. Wtf. This costs P300 and it's not even COLD! What. Is. Up. With. Them?! Service was really poor! Asked the server a lot of times what are the available flavors for their chilled drinks and she answered me with "Maam, chilled juice po?" I said yes and then she asked me the exact same question again two to three times. Argh. NAKAKAINIS. 128545128545128545

Was a bit disappointed that the crossover buffet promo is no longer offered. But I've heard good things about Basix so I'm still hopeful.

We came there a little too early and the staff was still going about its normal routine in opening the restaurant. Good thing the salads are already available and sort of a blessing in disguise because I would not normally go for the cold section in a buffet. The Asian salads were really good - I enjoyed it a lot.

I also went for the grilling section - had pork medallions and salmon belly. The salmon was divine.

But the best thing for me was the paella. I'm not a paella expert, and I've only tried a few. This is the best I've tried so far. Better than Casa Armas'. The flavors of the saffron rice, the seafood, the chorizo - perfect for me. I'd come back just for this.

Basix' Sunday Brunch Buffet is heaven. Swear. (And get ready--I have a lot to rave about!)

There's a grilled meats and seafood section (choose from beef/chicken/shrimp kebabs, lamb chops, liempo, etc--see my photo of the medium-grilled lamb chops I had, paired with gratinated potatoes).

Carving station had two kinds of meat, perfectly glazed bone-in ham and roasted rib eye with all the trimmings (excellent mint jelly!). There was a lechon station and the soup station had a choice of beef noodle soup or laksa. A pasta bar was right beside the cold cuts and cheese station (they had good cheeses and I loved the chorizo!). A taco station was near the juice section--this is a brunch buffet after all. A fairly extensive selection of bread was also available. Of course they had a salad bar but the salads were premade (think Thai catfish salad, pomelo salad, mixed seafood salad...).

They had a tandoori station! Indian kebabs baked in a tandoori oven were really really good! They were spicy though but choose from one of the yogurt-based dips to complement your grilled meats 128522. A paella station was also present. From the big pan of premade paella, there are several toppings there so you could customize your plate of paella! (Didn't try this one though, was saving space for all the roast meats!)

The dessert station was made of a careful selection of mousses, tarts and mini cakes as well as the ubiquitous chocolate fountain. Their red velvet cake, dark chocolate cappuccino mousse (not their actual names--just what I call them), chocolate caramel tart and baklavas were all really yummy! You may request for coffee (strong brew!) and tea afterwards.

Everything I had was excellent. No kidding. I loved everything I ate, everything was seasoned well, nothing was bland. All I have to show for this very enthusiastic review are my clean plates, and the trance my family was in on our way home from stuffing ourselves silly.

The only thing that is unclear is how much we paid per head. I think P1,500-1,700? Given the amount of fantastic meat we consumed, I think that's a super good deal already!

We come here often but this time we tried doing Crossover. Japanese and Thai are at the other end of the hotel so it's a pretty long walk. Food's great, of course. 128077

Since it's Father's Day today, all dads are FOC! Plus, there are giveaways from Onésimus and other sponsors. 128522

2nd lunch buffet for the week?! 128055128055128055

My dad's encouraging (aka bribing) my brother to come to work with us during his summer vacation. Hence, we've been eating so much lately. 128563128055

Basix is cheaper than most hotel buffet but the selection is not as varied. I liked the grilling station, the mint sauce of the lamb chops were the best! 128077

I also asked them to bake some mussels and put some cheese on it... for some reason, it became too salty... but still good. 128513

Drinks are included in their rates. You must try the dalandan juice! Loved that! 10084 Or, beer, if you drink.

For a small place, they have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive to the needs of diners. The fact that they offer simple filipino foods like taho and danggit makes me want to patronize them more.

Had breakfast in Basix earlier. As simple as their place sounds, it does not necessarily reflect the food they serve! Their breakfast spread might not be that much but the quality of items they have is exceptional! They even serve local favorites like taho and puto! I've never been in a hotel in Manila who serves this kind of breakfast!

Everything was clean and servers were attentive. Some hotels have 2-3 kinds of juices but they had 5! They even served wheat grass juice! Very refreshing.

The food I got (as i remember it) was
Danggit, fried rice, white sausage, different hams, 2-kinds of cheese, scrambled egg uberly soft bread, mangoes, etcetc!!

Pigged out basically in Basix!

Will definitely return and highly recommended!

Their buffet selection is wider than I expected. Food is good. Service is okay. Nothing special or "beyond".
