Invited by my hubby's colleague to chill out after a long day at work. We stayed on the first floor (smoking area) so wasn't able to check the second floor. For 450 pesos per bucket, you can choose for 2 free pulutan. We chose garlic pizza and beef salpicao. Bit pricey though where you can have a bucket in lesser amount. Anyhow, fell in love with their frozen brazo. 128077

Read good reviews online but I was a bit disappointed.

Food was ok and is worth it for the price but don't expect authentic Spanish cuisine. The paella was tasty but the torta and famous croquettas weren't anything special.

If you're willing to pay more for better Spanish food, I would skip Basty's.

Good place to drink and unwind after work. Their chorizo frito is good and the aligue pasta with prawns. Place can get pretty loud as it's a small space, even though it has a 2nd floor.

Where good food and good friends meet! It's your "restobar around the corner" type of place.

Mussels in garlic butter and herbs only at P185.

If you want to chill on a weekday, basty's is the way.

Been around the Metro searching for great Paella, this place definitely has a spot on the podium. Cooked to order (as it should be) good portions, it's a classic "casual" paella, meaning it doesn't literally have all the bells and whistles that grandma's recipe has, but it still hits the spot dead center.

Quality and taste are definitely the key factors here. It may not be as "photogenic" as other paellas are, in terms of visual content, it may even be quite disappointing if you're the type that goes "I don't see any . . . I'm not seeing . . . . shouldn't there be . . . .". But we should be out to eat food, not to hang it on a wall or use it as a profile pic. Presentation is a plus (not that there is lack of it in Basty's) but the deal breaker in any restaurant should always be taste, and Basty's nailed it.

The succulent blend of spices, tasty meats and perfectly cooked prawns and of course the mark of a great paella, that crusty bottom!!! You can only get that cooked to order people! (Shortcuts to get a crusty bottomed paella can be spotted a mile away, the effort is futile.) The gambas/chorizo dish is excellent, have also tried their pastas and sandwiches and so far all dishes are at par with each other to my palate's content.

The Spanish influence here is unmistakeable, for example for the chicken wings, what you'd get is more of a fried adobo wings dish rather than the standard buffalo wings/sour cream combo.

Basty's is definitely my "happy place" for a spanish fix, great service, cozy ambience. It places itself comfortably and quite smartly in between casual and fine dining. It's the perfect "one for the road" joint during workdays, Of course on Fridays all hell breaks loose but then again, isn't that what weekends are for?

This is a small bar/resto situated beside office buildings. It can get quite crowded so it's best to come in early since the place is small. There is a 2nd floor dining area for bigger groups. They have great Spanish food as well as pica pica. Tried the garlic & cheese pizza, baked to a perfect crisp! Unlike the dry like crackers of a previous review hahaha. Good place to unwind after a stressful day at the office.

Boneless Crispy Pata, Chorizo Pasta and Jack D on a Friday night....how can i complain?

Very decent unassuming drinking spot situated in bcg at net quad bldg. there's a barcino vibe in this place. Heard they have unlimited sangria's every wednesday.

Happy Weekend!! Kampai!!!

Basty's chorizo for the win! This place is seriously turning me into a chorizo fan!

Had a paella feast with the team last night: adobo paella (with chicharon "crumbs"), seafood paella and my choice for the night -- chorizo paella. Was supposed to try their chorizo omelette, but I got jealous of the rice everyone else was ordering! Will try that next time!

Tried the frozen brazo as well, it was good enough for a non-brazo fan like me. I didn't know it had ice cream though... and that that's why it's called FROZEN! Thought it was just crazy cold when served...

Another must-try is their baked mussels topped with parmesan cheese and chili -- my seatmate ordered that and boy, I could smell the cheesy goodness from my place.

Their paellas are on the oily side so beware all you health-conscious foodies out there. I heard they use olive oil, but still...

Under new management starting today!!

In the 3 times I've been to Basty's, we ordered the chorizo twice. It's the tried and tested beer companion, sworn to by my officemates. Great when paired with their garlic bread, but tonight they ran out of that so they used wheat bread instead. Still ok, imo. A bit on the salty side, but tha can easily be remedied with a swig of beer. Or more... 127867127867127866127866127866127866127867127867

My tequila sunrise was watery, but I'm willing to give the place one more try.

Nice ambiance, great as an after-work drinks venue 127864127865127863128077
