Right beside Bayler View Hotel is one of the best buko shakes I've ever tasted. The ice granules are consistent, buko bits add a punch and the sweet, healthy concoction is served in a clear bottle ala Jonas shake style. A clear taste of Baler is a must try treat for a mere P35. :-)

We're on our way home as of writing, so expect a thrilled review of my experience. He he!

Bayler View Hotel was one of my friend's recommendations. After some canvassing as well, this is where we ended up staying overnight - costs P2500 for 3 pax and P3000 for 4. This comes with free breakfast per head.

The hotel's a three-storey with a resto beside it for convenience and walking distance to the beach with surfing stalls around. 127940127946

Rooms are air-conditioned and maintained well (so far and hopefully it will be in the future). Staff's okay too. Rooms are spacious enough by the way. Though bathroom's not that big, though suppose one can manage, especially when you're staying overnight.

As for the restaurant, food's okay ranging from P100-200 per head. For convenience, suppose this should be enough.

If you were to plan your itinerary, after eating brekky and digest some, go straight surfing! Waves are good in the morning! 127940 The surfing stalls there offer surfboard rentals and lessons. That's P350/hour with instructor; P400 for 2 hour rental w/o instructor and P800 for whole day.

Staff are friendly and definitely patient for beginners. They would give quick tutorials on how to ride on the surfboard properly and guide you throughout the hour and along the waves.

On a side note, surfing was not in my bucket list (haven't written one yet) but definitely happy I got to try it! Woohooo!!! Yeah boy! (By the way this is a good hobby to develop surfer cuts and abs, hi hi!)

For quick notes, we also visited Caunayan Falls & the Balete Tree, largest one in Asia (as per Foursquare check-in)! It's 5-storey high and got to climb it! (Well, with some help of course. 128077)

Baler's a good place to visit if you want to try out surfing and new things - taking a bath in the falls or climbing tall trees, even eat in carinderias (as my officemates tease me due to my foodspotting in fancy-for-them-but-not-really restos)! Expect around a 6-hour ride but it's worth it!

Too bad, my board shorts got 'stolen' or was taken by someone by mistake and didn't return it (as I would like to think of it, 'para di uminit ang ulo' he he! 128522). Or maybe he/she lost his/hers and badly needed one, tsk tsk. 128518 well, Baler, you have one of my possessions as a remembrance I visited! Ha ha!

We stayed here evaluate Aliya was full. Rooms were ok, wifi didn't work, food is actually pretty good. 2 stars because we had stuff stolen from us here and management was completely agnostic about it :(

I went to Baler for three days of surfing, during meals I tried every restaurant along the beachfront.
I had one of my lunches in this hotel, I ordered the grilled blue marlin, which was very much worth the price, it was big and tasty. Perfect for lunch on the beach. The rice was a little undercooked though.
Oh, and the service was great, the staff were very friendly, one even took his time chatting with me.

We almost didn't choose to stay here coz of its funny name, but thank god we did. They got the friendliest staff and the food is reasonably prized. Their pizza is good. It's a Pinoy pizza not pretending to be Italian nor American, but the surprise is it has stuffed crust. Amazing.

The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. But the staff gets the praise here. They're all so nice. Well actually, parang all of the people of Baler are nice! They're friendly, they smile a lot, and you can trust the trike drivers with your belongings when you roam around. We'll definitely come back here.
