Visited Baler for the first time and this is the very first restaurant we went to because some of my friends have mentioned that this place is good. Not! I think i'm not the only one here who was told by their crew that for an ala carte order it would take around 45mins to an hour, an hour! It was only 11AM on a Saturday and there were only around 4 tables occupied out of i think 20-25 tables max. We just left and transferred to Baler Surfers Grill who served food a lot faster (not even 15 mins) and the food there was great!

In our Baler trip, 50 bucks is our agreed allocation for every meal. This means we went beyond our budget when we had our dinner in the restaurant of Bay's Inn Resort, one of the well-known gastronomic destinations in Baler. Good thing we had extra money in hand, we just couldn't pass up the chance to eat in a place that has won many a rave from tourists and bloggers.
It was a good thing we went there just before the crowd began to thicken so we were able to get a table. It has a view of the bay, which we hardly enjoyed since the night has already descended.
Waiting time for our food to be served was the only thing that I find irksome about the experience. In my estimation we waited for more than 40 minutes and I noticed other costumers who came in after us got served first. Just when I was thinking of walking out, the waiter finally came with our food. By, the way, forgive me for the poor quality of the pictures.
We had every manginginom's favorite, Pork Sisig. This is not your usual sisig, it moist and tender, no crispy part at all. It's like somebody got crazy with mayonnaise and put it all in in this sisig. It's delicious though.
Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet (PHP170) is my favorite because it's flavorsome. The fish fillet is covered in a thich red sauce, tossed with fresh and crunchy vegetables.
Pako Salad (fern) (PHP85) is one of the most popular foods on the menu and for a good reason. It is a generous serving of fern leaves, with spring onions, tomatoes, slices of salted egg and fish paste (bagoong isda) on the side.
My least preferred would be the Chicken Steak with Butter-lemon Sauce (PHP160). The chicken was a bit tough, has a weak flavor that not even the lemon sauce made any difference.
For drinks I tried the overrated Banana Shake with Choco Syrup (PHP70). First sip was enough to have us wondering what got it to the bestseller's list. There was nothing special about it really.
We went back to this restaurant on our last day in Baler. I wasn't able to take pictures of the foods that we ordered but I remember liking their Tuna Salad Sandwich (PHP45) Porkchop with Gravy (PHP85).
A Baler gastronomic adventure wouldn't be complete unless you go to Bay's Inn and I deem it a must-try if ever you get to this part of Aurora.
