(Continuation of the Hunger Games day) Archery sure is a tiring activity. Our arms were stretched out and we were hungry. We were planning to go to Brotzeit for some sausages but something else caught the eyes of T and K while we were at Pearl Drive... a small Chimek (Chicken and Mekju [beer]) place. We just had a Korean dinner a night ago but that didn't stop us to check the place out.

Hello, BBQ Chicken!

The place was empty when we arrived. T guessed that perhaps they do better with deliveries than dine-in as the delivery guy comes and goes the whole time we were there.

We were torn between Spicy Chicken and Rice Syrup Chicken (both PHP320) but the server told us that the Rice Syrup tastes better so we chose the latter. We also ordered Spicy Dduk-Bokki (PHP220) and Cream Chicken Pasta (PHP255). Then we all ordered a glass of beer for a chimek restaurant experience but I also ordered a can of cola (as I really am not fond of beer).

Service was pretty quick as our orders arrived in less than 15 minutes.

We were glad that we were given an option to have the chicken deboned so that eating it will be less messy as it was covered in sauce (think Bon Chon).

The skin was crisp and it was rich in taste. What I loved was that the flavor reached the meat and the sweet rice syrup, peanut and green pepper taste were present in each bite.

The dduk-bokki was quite too spicy for me so I only took a few as I was running out of cola and I do not want to wash it down with beer.

I loved the pasta though. It was like carbonara with bits of chicken breast meat. Creamy goodness. And the chicken was very tender.

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. And since we almost owned the place, it was a great place to catch up. Plus the chairs were comfy. <3

Always loved their Korean chicken - fills me every single time. They have refurbished the place to exude a more industrial vibe. Would have to further improve service and amenities, though - long wait times and poor ventilation.

Before chicken and beer sprouted in areas like Burgos Circle and Eastwood Citywalk BBQ chicken was already present in Pearl Drive. This place has great food, it's chicken everybody loves chicken. What I usually order here is the original chicken set which is a staple order for students for lunch since there is a lunch set which is priced fairly and comes with a drink. Bit aside from that there is the smoked chicken which is the thigh part of the chicken smoked to perfection. Soft, boneless and so tasty it's perfect with rice or beer or even with veggies as they also have a smoked chicken salad.

Over all the food compliments the beer and is for a good price. Service over all is also good as the waitresses are friendly and service is quick. BBQ chicken is a happy place to be and a chicken lover would love the way they cook it. BBQ chicken is so good that at the most random moments you see yourself craving for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, this is Chicken and Beer as well. I went here once and was not disappointed. :) still got the spicy chicken (which is my favorite) and was able to try the fries. The fries was normal, nothing special, like cheese flavored potato corner fries. Haha

Ordered Spicy Chicken for 165 php.

Apparently the original and spicy chicken dishes run on a promo. They're are priced lower on weekdays (from 185 to 165php).

The spicy chicken dish isn't as spicy as you'd think it would be. Spiciness is very mild, but it still tastes good nonetheless.

Ambience is decent and they got enough tables to fit about 30 people. Staff are kind and available. Sound track is for the youngsters.

Price range is around 160 - 350 php, fairly priced.

*lots of koreans

Overall, it's a nice place to grab a decent meal that won't be too hard on your wallet, but still leave you satisfied.

First Hot Spicy Chicken of the year! And it was GOOD. I don't think they could ever mess this one up. If you think you can handle it and are feeling adventurous, I recommend you try it!

It's chicken and I like it. That can be the only reason I keep coming back. That and the draft beer. Still one of the only places open after midnight, it's just a really chill place to talk and hang out with friends.

In my humble opinion, Koreans know how to do chicken, and they do it right. Even at a fast casual restaurant like BBQ Chicken, you can get it different ways: grilled, fried & served with gravy. My favorite and one I highly recommend is the Hot & Spicy Chicken. It boasts Korean-tolerable levels of spiciness in every bite of its crunchy exterior and juicy white meat. Wash it down with the restaurant's on-hand draft San Miguel Beer.

Downside: the staff at this branch don't always have the best attitude, not being very helpful at times and sometimes the service can be slow.
