Best food away from malls

We have known Behrouz Persian Cuisine from Wander Kid's swimmates. Owned by the family of an international gold medalist 10-year old Filipino-Iranian swimmer, Mohjde.

Aside from huge servings, we love the taste of their best-sellers:

1. Chelo Beef Kabab with Basmati rice. Beef is tender. The grilled tomato, Basmati rice and beef kabab are a perfect combination.

2. Shawarma rice - this meal is okay too. We prefer Sharwama sandwich

3. LTO - pork liver sauteed in garlic

4. OX Brain

5. Humus BTO - ground beef in creamy humus

6. Chicken bbq - flavourful

The Timog branch is always jam-packed with customers from lunch time to wee hours because store is open from 11am to 5am. The airconditioned place is clean and with enough crew.

This will definitely be added to our regular list of favorite restos of Persian Cuisine.

Spent around p500 to p600 for a group of 3 with 3 orders of food and drinks. They extend 10% discount for PSL members. 128512

Behrouz, thankfully renovated their Timog branch. It's so much more inviting, light actually comes through! The interiors are nice and clean, even the plates and sauce containers are new.

*Applause*

Same old taste, the best Persian resto for me. Sauces are flavourful and the beef is not dry.

This beef shawarma is good! But i have to say their hot sauce is really spicy. So, go easy on the hot sauce.

By the way, dogs are allowed in the open area. So major plus points for dog owners like me! 128077

I'd still go for Mister Kabab. Food is okay. My beef kebab sandwich cost me 80 pesos but the filling fell a bit short. Dinaan ako sa kamatis. Service is also 128078🏻 helpers are just chatting and they don't even smile and even fight who will attend to us. And this place needs to be renovated bigtime. It is outdated and a bit unsanitary.

If it weren't for the delicious foods, I would not be coming back here! Bad service! It takes time before your orders get served.

When we asked for the bill, we needed to follow it up 4 times! And it wasn't just last night, it happens all the time.

If it weren't for the foods... Oh.

What happened to Behrouz? We were all disappointed awhile ago when we dined here.

After our midnight 'til dawn bonding at the office, I, together with friends Jaymar and Benson, decided to go home at around 430am but Benson asked to eat. We were supposed to eat at San Seh but it was already closed so we opted for persian cuisine instead, thus Behrouz.

I ordered Shawarma Large instead of my usual Beef Chelo, Benson had Beef Chelo Kebab Kobideh while Jaymar chose a simple Yogurt.

The shawarma was stocked with big slices of tomatoes and onions and the beef, though somehow plenty, was cut in cubes making it hard to chew! But thinking again, if this was cut into cubes, it still shouldn't be that tough! The beef was also too spicy which made me wonder because shawarmas shouldn't be spicy right? Unless you put hot sauce. And I'm not a fan of spicy food.

Benson's choice was my usual order so I took a bite to forget the irritating shawarma, but unfortunately, this one lacked the taste of their usual delicious kebab! It was too bland. I really don't know what happened.

Finally, Jaymar expected the yogurt to be as sweet and sour as the usual Nestle Yogurt, but to his surprise...and dismay, this one's real yogurt topped with chopped cucumber. Actually it was ok for him if that was what real yogurt was for them, but that dish was just so horrible. I tasted it and it seemed like there was no taste at all. It was like eating cucumber dipped in slightly sour sauce.

Was it just because we were the only customers at that time? Frustrating. Should've taken pictures of the aftermath. :(

good after drinking session resto.

i just find the "kubo" tables both weird and cute. kubo not good for a large group.

prices are cheap. the serving is enough. humus is okay. the pita is same with mr kebab imo. beef with tomatoes is flavorful. good with rice. even for sharing. good place to full up the tummy after partying. no complaints.

the servers are nice. menu and bill were given in a timely manner.

i still love mr kabab in west ave more.

I seriously fell in love with their Ox Brain! The thing is, I have this other Kebab place that I love, and I have never gone anywhere else but there. Then I had a chance to try Behrouz and I must say, I think this will be my go-to restaurant for this kind of dishes.

Shawarmaaaa! It has really improved since it first opened when I was still in high school, when shawarma was really famous and almost all street corners have a shawarma stall.

Well, it's not only the place that has improved for Behrouz...the price of the food they serve as well. 128540

It still is tasty but it's a bit pricey compared to other restos.

Still torn between Behrouz or Mister Kabab when it comes to Keema and Kababs. But one thing I know is that, their ox brain here is a lot better! The taste reminds me of penoy. :)
