We celebrated my niece's birthday here by inviting some of her mom's friends. We weren't new here. But the experience I had is better than before.

My auntie got a two-bedroom rooms. So the living room will be enough to accommodate around 15 visitors.

My role in this celebration was to prepare. Yes. So when the visitors came, me and my cousin and her husband chilled at the poolside. Sobrang hangin and nakakarelax until I wanted to take a dip.

The water of the pool is too cold for my thin skin so I just chose to sit by and do some adult talks. 128560128560

What I'm happy about:
Room with better restroom
A restroom with better lock.
A kettle with cleaner filter.
Lamps functioning well.
No more smelly and butas na linen.
Better service because I found what I was looking for during our last stay.

Psa: one more thing, I was at the lobby to get what my tito left there. And when I came back to the room di ko makita ung phone ko. So kahit alam kong hindi ko dala sa baba ung phone ko, I still ran and asked them kung may nakita ba silang phone, one of the guys said "Ma'am Clarisse, wala po eh. Number po kukunin ko, pero ung cellphone hindi" Okay, so kinilig ako kasi cute siya (babaw ko) and the adrenaline rush made me remember kung saan ko nga ba naiwan phone ko.

One last,
They are the kindest! All the food that are to be delivered to the room (bc the delivery guys just left all the food at the lobby, kaasar) they never hesitated to bring it there. No more questions asked. They kindly said "Maam, ung Pinadeliver niyo po... Happy Birthday po" even though they do not know who's the celebrator.

I really felt something better during this stay. I don't want to go that night but they insisted. 128546128514

It has been my Aunt’s hobby to check in at hotels when there’s a lot of noise and dirt going in our house. Our third floor was under construction kso there will be a lot of banging and grinding, and annoying construction noise during the day.
Her work is until midnight and she has to sleep from 4am to 3pm (at least) to satisfy her relationship with her bed. She then decided to check in at Best Western Antel Hotel in Makati where one of her bff had her 18th party. She thought it would be good and nice. She let me and my mom come with her so there will be people to look after her child.
So, this is where the rant begins.
Since I rode the jeepney to arrive to the hotel, I walked from century mall to the said hotel. I was on my shorts, black shirt, slippers, and I had my black backpack. So, do I look like a squatter? No. I may not look like a rich kid entering their hotel+residence but I deserve their respect to at least hold the door for me and greet me a “good evening ma’am”. Not that I’m demanding a lot, but I had a really tough battle in the jeep so I need a cheer up. And well, hotel staff MUST greet hotel guests no matter what. I don’t care what they’re talking about in the corner or whatever. They need to hold the door.
I entered the room and the first thing I had to see is the bathroom. No bidet. No dipper. Fricking no. PANO AKO MAGHUHUGAS NG PWET PAG NATAE AKO? SA SHOWER? The shower was immovable! My mom then asked me how to operate the shower. I tried to turn it on, and the water supply seems like it won’t last until I finish my bath. It scared me, honestly.
The hotel room really looks old. Like, it was should be some type of design but it ended up being like an 80’s old house.
The bed was the next thing I examined (I’m such a sucker for beds). Comfy? Pwede na. Sapat na sa bill. But the pillows seem like naked… and dirty? A lot of tiny black stuff and medyo magaspang ung feeling ng bed sheet. I laughed a lot at the tissue box from the bedside table. It’s so funny because I was getting so annoyed for the two parts not being compatible to each other. I gave up trying to fix things that cannot be fixed.
It’s hard to look from the windows. Nakakaloka, nahiya ung aso namin sa sobrang daming dark spot nung window. The curtains also have a not-so-good smell, plus, ang gaspang ulit.
I wasn’t also informed that this hotel offers sexual atmosphere. The lighting is orgasmic kasi sobrang dim. Minsan naman pampatulog din. But it was difficult when we were fixing ourselves or looking for my cousin’s kinder joy toy (you know those toys are so tiny), we need to use phone flash lights just to add to their lighting.
Our first night was fine, the air conditioning system is doing great and the bed sheet really made me uncomfortable sleeping. I ended up sleeping in the sofa, instead. I found inner peace there.
I woke up to find out my mom went home to have our clothes cleaned, and my auntie is already sleeping beside my cousin. I needed to have my coffee. Whaaa, good thing I don’t really trust hotels when it comes to instant coffee… It was dry. I brought my own 3-in-1 coffee hooray for a good decision. I was about to use the thermo pot when I saw the filter… grabe sobrang kadiri. I was not born rich, we’re not superduper rich also. But having a very dirty thermo pot filter is not okay, rich kid man ako o hindi. I was not raised by my mom to be picky about the things I use, so she always tell me “just wash it, try to clean it.” So I boiled tap water in it and I used that to clean the filter… But it didn’t. It didn’t. So I just had to slap my face so I can wake up.
Few seconds later, I heard water drops. No, not drops. I mean water leakage. I thought it was raining… sa loob?! So I rushed to the bed room and guess what I saw… naglalaway ung air con. Nahiya ulit ung aso namin. As in, the leakage was unbelievable. Wala naman un kagabi. It didn’t stop. It was like an open faucet for about five minutes. After screaming “ahhhhhhh ang aga aga!” in my head, I called 3, which is their speed dial for housekeeping. I wasn’t even able to say “good morning” to the one who answered my call because literally, there was no good in the morning. I told her “may leakage po ung aircon sa bedroom. Babahain na po kami dito.” She said the maintenance will be there in two minutes. So I waited. And wow, wala pang two minutes nandun na sya. I told him about the leakage and the aircon calmly. Just figure out how I look trying to be calm when I actually wanted to let out a Yolanda kind of storm. But the maintenance was in good vibes so I need to be in his vibes also.
While he was doing his job, I told him to be quiet because my auntie is still sleeping, and great, he was quiet. I boiled another batch of water in the thermo pot because I cannot let this morning pass without coffee (sorry wala akong pang starbucks.) When it was boiled already, I decided to pour the water from the pot to the hotel’s tea cup through the side lid. I even need to transfer my cup because kuya maintenance told me he’ll use the lavatory. Baka kasi magtaka siya bakit sa gilid ko dinaan ung tubig. Sabihin pa niya weird ako. I poured the coffee in the tea cup and oo, alam niyo naman, sa ganon kaliit na tasa, pang dalawahang serving ung isang instant coffee mix pack. I need to suffer from the OA na sa tapang, OA pa sa astig na kape. *raises cup*
I examined the plates if they’re clean enough so I can use it to heat my burger from the last night. It also has dark spots, nahiya naman ung mukha ko this time. Yup, I know they’re stains. But if sobrang obvious na, wala pa ba silang balak palitan yun? They may be a low-key hotel, but the sanitary is always a must. Sobrang halata nang luma ung plates and utensils, and they’re not aware? Oh I think they should be!
Also, I don’t know what was the problem of the sink, the water (tubig lang talaga siya), took a lot of time before it vanished (vanish talaga). I used the fork end (sorry ang baboy) to try to raise the sink filter…
As what I have mentioned earlier, the lights were dim and yes, mahirap magbasa at magsulat. So I opened the study table lamp. And guess what, kumukiti-kutitap, bumibusibusilak, ganyan and kislap ng bombilya ng lamp. I cussed about the lamp and told it to “please be stable”, ayun, pumatay nang tuluyan. I had no choice but to turn it off, baka mamaya pumutok pa. After few minutes, I opened it again (sakit po kasi sa ulo) and yes! Stable na siya, as in gumagana na. But after few minutes again, nagfeeling Christmas lights na naman ang lamp. I ended up fixing the window curtains… which was a better idea than waiting for the lamp to find its own peace.
I was waiting for my mom to arrive when there came two doorbells. Gosh, buti di ko pinagtripan, housekeeping pala. I told him to just clean the room later because my auntie is still sleeping. He said okay naman. Jolly good fellow is kuya. Shining shimmering ung smile.
When my aunt woke up, we had drinks at teaberi (hays sarap po nung cocoa raspberry w/ oreo) and we also had our lunch at Rufo’s (they have a very salty tapa, juiceq) and went to grocery to get some snack for the night and until the next day. My aunt felt the need to go ahead of us because some ethereal parts of her are calling her so she left the groceries to me and my other brother who came by just that noon. We had two full bags, and again… THE STAFFS WERE NOT VERY ACCOMMODATING. They were like three or four bellboys or guards or I don’t really know what they are but obviously they are hotel staffs… They saw us because they have eyes and because we also have eyes who are trying to communicate to other people “please open the door for us because both of our hands can’t”, but it seemed like we were trying to communicate with aliens because they can’t accept and understand our signals. Nahiya ung pldt sa hina ng connections nila. I opened the door all by myself, thanks to myself. Thanks to them for staring at their hotel guests. We deeply appreciated the weight of their stares. Sobrang bigat… nakakabigat ng loob.
During our time of swim, I had no problems here. Well, there’s a bit like some life guards are too masungit. Pool time was actually my fave time because it was the time I had less problems dealing with the staff and the facility. It was a cold afternoon. And the afternoon dip is freezing that a fifteen-minute souse is enough to make us stop. They also have a great policy that should be strictly followed, like the pool attire, babies can swim (with an adult of course), and the “shower muna bago babad”. Staffs were doing their job. But there’s a minus point for there are no towels provided. Kahit man lang isa per room.
We went out for dinner again. And going back, lol, great, they already opened the door! *joke I accept myself naman*
The retractable clothes line in the CR is the last good thing about the room. Thank God for giving them the idea of putting such in the CR. The result: may sampayan sa cr. At least we won’t go home with heavier things due to our soaked swim suits.
The next morning, my mom and I decided to have a walk and buy our breakfast at Jollibee which was near Pacific Star pa hahaha. I knew it, I always knew it… That they’d open the door because I have my mom around. They’re really kind to adult. So ano, eechapwerahin nyo lang teenagers? Wala ba kaming karapatan magreklamo dahil hindi naman kami ung nagbabayad ng bills? One of the things I really hate is when crews or staffs don’t give equal service (remember my Giligan’s MoA review?). If I will be the president of the Phi--, joke.
I don’t think that some kids or teens get the respect we deserve. Maybe it was affected by how our generation grew up… But lol, don’t forget who raised us. It only means you, adults, were also there. So you need to know how it feels being treated like a “kid”. We won’t demand for something we won’t need. (LOL)
I told my mom about the service they give according to my experience but she said “kasi di naman yan kagaya ng solaire or city of dreams, or dusit etc, low cost kasi kaya ganyan.” I know I didn’t lose the argument but I remained silent realizing that it won’t be worth my time to speak for my right and opinion. Maybe in the perspective of some, it’s okay. But service is service. Whatever the value the hotel is asking for the payment of the guests may not be enough for the best quality of service, but at least give a good one. In fact, service and cleanliness are the things to look for when checking in a hotel. Words of mouth are a big influence of gaining new costumers. So if they pick costumers who they’ll offer a quality service, good luck to the growth of them. If they’re being “great” staff to others, what’s stopping them to be a good one for every costumer?
I don’t know why it came to this, hahaha but I really really really didn’t mean na umabot sa ganito ung review ko. When my aunt decided to check out earlier, I said “yes!” finally, I’m out with the crappy service and accommodation.
Last minute bwisit:
Bellboys are not really attentive. Or maybe they’re not aware of what they should be doing.
Checking out took us a lot of time.
A lot of housekeeping staff are too noisy during their duty.

There may be a lot of rant (yes, a lot, and sorry and thank you if you’re still reading) but there are also a thumbs up for this hotel. I never wanted to embrace mediocrity (I’m sorry if I seem like a rebellious teenager), but this hotel is “pwede na” if you are looking for a low cost and low quality service. I’m not saying that if you pick this hotel, you are a mediocre. No. Everything will be based on our own standards.
It was an OKAY LANG experience. But definitely not “OKAY PA, ISA PA.” Definitely not. Salamat na lang po kasi napahaba ung review ko dito. *I’m crying*

I am not a hotel person,  whenever i travel i pick the cheapest hotel there is (they have to pass my cleanliness standard,  of course).

I spent the night at Antel a couple of months back.  No,  i didn't pay for the room.  This was during thr annual visits of my uncle.   Antel is one of the new hotels located in Makati Avenue.  I gotta say,  the room is swanky,  not unlike the other hotels where Norman Bates would suddenly appear and share the blue hell out of you.  The design is modern ans stylish,  minimalist inspired.  Is it me or all of the hotels sport the dim lighting thingy?

Place is good for a cheap staycation. Got this place at Agoda for less than 3k a night. No bfast though. It's more of a condo unit up for rent. The rooms are quite old and you can tell as soon as you enter. It has a kitchenette but the only thing that you would use there are the plates. They will ask you the room # when you go to the pool area and no towels were provided. Access to food is easy. It's at the part of Makati where you can simply skip to start your gastronomic adventure.

We checked-in for 2 nights for our wedding preparations. A good friend recommended the place and told us the rates were affordable. After seeing the condo-type rooms, I'd say the price was alright. My mom liked the room's layout. Service was also alright.

We had a little problem though because on our wedding day, some security officers told my fiance that taking pictures by the poolside was not allowed. They were having the pre-wedding photo session there while we (bride and bridesmaids) got ready. We weren't informed of this policy prior to the booking and it caused us a bit of stress. Fortunately, my friend (the one who recommended the place) was able to talk things out with the security department, and they allowed the shoot to finish.

The free buffet breakfast was alright. Nothing fancy about the set-up nor the meals. The omelette / pancake station cooked food on the spot which I found nice. We'd probably check-in again at another time since the place was very accessible.

Had 3 events here, Unit/Group Christmas Party, my bridal shower and my friend's mini-stag party 1285131280779996️ Which means, we are really comfortable in this place.

They are not so strict with visitors. Friendly staff. However, one of their elevators stinks.
