I have to say that I enjoyed this more than I thought... Another gift for the bf! 128077🏻
Betty's has been well known for years for their sans rival... I literally cannot think of another bake shop that can rival their sans rival... Great mix of crunch from the wafer and butteriness from the cream... That maroon box is really iconic! Seeing that box and finding out that it's sans rival would make me immediately reach for a fork... And fork alone!128514 Mine, no sharing!128525128525128525 Mind you, I am not a fan of sans rival in general.

But I have never tried their brownies before... At least not knowingly...128514 I have read about it from several reviews but I was never really motivated to try it... Boy, was I wrong! They make pretty good brownies too! If you like your brownies a bit fudge-y, this is not for you... Theirs are on the dry side (not dry dry, just non-fudge-y)... Rich chocolate taste with cashews thrown in for good measure... It's the brownies of previous family gatherings, the ones your titas hand you to eat... Every bite will make you nostalgic! Definitely a good one!128522

But it's still the sans rival that still gets me!128525

Best sans rival ever!!!128525

I have never eaten at the restaurant itself, but their sans rival has been a family favorite for years!10084️ I usually don't eat sans rival, but seeing that maroon box will make me clamor for a slice!

It's very buttery in taste and texture with lots of cashews... I love the crunch from the meringue wafer layer, which doesn't get soggy even if the cake is kept in the freezer... Their buttercream is not too sweet... This will make you forget about your diet in a heartbeat!

Worth every calorie!128077

Typhoon Lando was hammering Metro Manila but the strong winds didn't stop me to attend the christening of my former agent's baby boy. The reception was held at Betty's.

I was looking forward to this. I was supposed to visit Betty's two years ago with Reich T Pat L Lea A & Theresa L but we were already overwhelmed by the desserts we tried from three restaurants. We decided to cross out Aling Betty from the list. Sayang girls! Okay pala dito!

According to my agents, they paid 32 thousand pesos for 90 heads. Viands include adobong pusit with fish and tahong, fresh lumpia, carbonara, chicken teriyaki and beef in gravy sauce (ata). For desserts, they served mixed fruits and their famous Sansrival. Oh di ba hindi na masama!

Nothing exceptional but all the dishes are cooked well. Eating sansrival is a rare occasion to me. Don't get me wrong, I super love the dessert pero hindi lahat ng napupuntahan ko serves one. Dito palung-palo ang Sansrival.

I can tell kakagawa lang. The kunat level was perfect and the amount of buttercream on each bar is well enough but not overwhelming. Perfect lang! It reminded me of Estrel's buttercream. May ganung eksena.

I felt guilty eating 6 squares but I just coudn't help eating one after another! Sira ang dieta!128557

Probably the best sans rival I have ever tasted, beside the sans rival in Baguio. Plus, They are different kind.

After having a late lunch in The Z Compound near Maginhawa street, we decided to have desserts here. 128523 We had Meatzza, Creamy Pesto pasta and their best selling Sans Rival.

The pizza is okay, for the price less than Php100, that aint so bad. The pasta comes with a bottomless drink so it's super sulit! I just dont prefer creamy pesto so I think it tasted okay for me.

The sans rival was the best part. It was frozen, and thick and not too sweet. Although, I remove the nuts, (not fan of nuts) I still like it! 128523

Passed by on my way home and ordered Sans Rival for take out / pasalubong.
This is where we sometimes go to have dessert and coffee after pigging out in any of the restaurants in Banawe that I have reviewed so far.
Their sans rival is one of the best I've tried so far, with just the right amount of sweetness :)

Their sansrival is comparable to conti's. Theirs is creamier while Conti's is loaded with nuts. But other than the sansrival i couldn't recommend other foods. On top of that the servers lacks charisma. Their courtesy is almost on the brink of being civil. So if you are looking for a really yummy sansrival with a small budget go for Betty's!

Their Sansrival is absolutely divine. Generous and Buttery icing, crunchy layers, simply delish. Tried it today cause I know the owners and it's their annual Feast of Our Lady of La Naval. Their house is near Betty's. 128519

Theirs is among the Metro's best sansrivals. Betty's sells in slice, quarter, small and up to big sizes. Worth a try to visit here.

Betty's started as a caterer and they decided to open a restaurant about ten years ago with function rooms for parties and receptions. They also have dine-in savory food which is quite cheap. Medyo hole in the wall near Sto Domingo church a block inside of Quezon Ave. between Banawe St and Sto Domingo Ave on M Cuenco.

Also a must try is their Buko lychee pandan salad.

Perfect for budget dates or taking your mistress out (not that I approve of such relationships haha). Hole-in-the-wall. Affordable but not chipipay (tiffany chairs, tablecloth, magazines, facsimile paintings, etc). College kids looking for real food (as opposed to fast food) or for a quiet place to study, or for anyone looking for a relatively intimate venue for small meetings (don't you just hate it when people meet up in crowded places like Jollibee during rush hour? "Ay manong, niligpit na po ang pinagkainan nyo samantalang ako naman eh wala pang maupuan. Baka naman pwede ka nang lumayas."), look no further. And, just like my beloved Chic-Boy, these fellas serve bottomless iced tea!

Ordered their Spaghetti Amatriciana which is basically just sautéd bacon and mushrooms in tomato base. The pasta was a bit overcooked but the sauce was delicious (it's served with bottomless iced tea - yay!)

Got their sansrival for dessert and I thought it was just ok. It was crunchy but not that buttery and creamy 128532. It was still good though, but not ooohh sooo goooood!
