Bigg's was definitely part of the itinerary during our visit... A well-loved homegrown diner serving American food with branches all over Bicol? Definitely worth a try right? This was where we had our early dinner on our first day in Legazpi...

As the sightseeing made us hungry, we went for rice instead of their burgers or sandwiches... I got their beef tenderloin served on a sizzling plate, while the bf got their salpicao plus an extra order of ... It's a BBQ stick, spaghetti, and chicken in one plate... The tenderloin was just that, tender... Needs a bit of help with their seasoning, but great for a hungry person already... I tried the spaghetti, which I found okay... Wasn't able to try the rest of the bf's order... But let me just say that their fries were good, albeit comes in a small serving... It was good that we got to try a Bicol original...

I wish we had more time to try their sandwiches, but that will have to wait for another visit!128522

Btw, I'm totally guessing the branch!128513

bigg's goto is my favorite comfort tipid food in legazpi. i really wanted the bf to try this. when we went home earlier this month i insisted on getting goto here late at night even if we were still full.

the place was packed and i saw most of the tables had goto. i ordered just a bowl to satisfy my craving. it was served after 20 min. i guess they cooked a new batch since all the goto orders were served at the same time and a lot of people were already waiting.

the bowl was filling for it's price. i remembered it tastier before. hmmm i will try this again next time when I'm home.

server's were friendly but still a bit slow.

Yes It's a take out but I am fond of eating here cause the place got this great vibe of the 90's 80's 70's feel and they're service is great but ofcourse they got some drawbacks that the food sometimes take 20-30mins to get served but they say that theyre not fast food theyre good food 9786
Anyway, the food is great like seriously but it's pricey for students. Average order without nestea is like (150-250) I think
And oh you must try their nestea i dont know what theyve put on it but its blasting with lemon-ness flavor, and my fave this from this joint is tocilog/baby back ribs/ biggs platter. And oh their dessert like the cookie monster cake is delish! And if ever youre on diet theyve got this fit and trim salad 128151

The original fastfood of Bicol. It's kinda pricey for a fastfood but it's worth it. Their signature dish is the Baby Back Ribs. It's not your typical ribs coz the strong bicol flavors are very present. It's a must try when you're in Bicol.

We visited my friend in Bicol this past week and the morning after, we wanted something that can only be had in Bicol for breakfast. So, our friend took us to this diner in Legaspi. It has branches all over Bicol. (But technically they also already have a branch in Batangas)

It was clean and modern-looking, minimalist movie posters were on the walls, the placemats were a mish-mash of movie posters as well. There were diner booths and regular chairs and tables.

Since it was breakfast, I settled on something light...NOT. I totally got a plate of ribs for breakfast!! 128539

The price was about 200 something for a plate of ribs, sauce on the side, rice and mixed vegetables. The ribs were tender, slide off the bone tender and delicious, as was the sauce. Not too overpowering. My order took a bit of time though. Maybe because no one expected anyone to order ribs at 8 in the morning, especially since everyone was just having coffee and tapa haha. In the end, pretty happy with this place. Would recommend to people traveling in the area.

One of my fave diner in Legazpi. Food is good and really affordable. It's actually a bikolano brand with other branches all over the region. I love their Cajun chicken..128522128522128522 it has been my fave since college. The chicken is really crispy and flavorful...Extreme Burger is a must try as well. The burger patty is juicy and flame grilled.. Down side is you just have to wait for 10-20 mins for ur food because they cook as it is ordered, giving you freshly cooked meals every time..128523128523128523

It's 1AM and I have been driving around legazpi for 45 minutes. Walang makainan at lahat sarado!! I don't want to eat in a beer house. I saw Jollibee but it was closed.

Just before I decided to go back to the hotel and eat pricey hotel food, I saw Bigg's Diner and a 24-hour jollibee. Magkaharap!

I went for Bigg's and ordered 2 pcs chicken. My expectation was set that it would take 10-15 mins for the chicken. It was okay for me because they informed and I'm getting a freshly cooked fried chicken.

They served me iced tea first and it was delicious. You won't get to taste the tea from some fastfood joints now because they're too sweetened.

Their chicken was crispy and a little peppery. The portions given to me were as big as the one's in Jollibee.

Bigg's has been one of my favorite restaurants ever since I was little. Up to now, I still haven't come across spaghetti which comes close to their Italian spaghetti's distinct yet timelessly delicious taste.

So just for a heads-up, Bigg's Diner is the largest Bicolano fast food chain. If you think their food is American, wait till you get to visit yourself.

It's blast from the past at full throttle. All Bigg's Diners are dressed to look like a retro diner straight from 1960s USA. Neon lights that give the place a warm, ambient glow. Black-and-white checkered floor tiling. Pop art and posters of iconic stars of Hollywood's Golden Age, including Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley and Audrey Hepburn. Vintage fixtures and fittings that imitate such Americana memorabilia as antique radios, sports game souvenirs and Campbell's tin cans. One branch even has a big, old jukebox. What's more American than a jukebox?!

But of course, it all comes down to the food.

Their menu consists of loosely American cuisine--try their "extreme" burgers and all-day American breakfast--but you can find bits from other parts of the world here, like their Korean bork barbecue, brick-oven pizza and my favorite chicken teriyaki (pictured above). They also serve great tapsilog, among other silogs, and other Pinoy staples, such as daing na bangus and even goto. And I should note that the best way to cap off any meal here is with their Rock 'n Roll iced tea.

As for other things, service has always been speedy and excellent, and the pricing's ain't half bad either!

Celebrating 30 years this 2013, Bigg's just keeps getting bigger and better. It might feel like a totally different world and time to some people, but to me, it sorta feels like home.
