I went to Binondo Church before I start my food trippin' at Binondo's Chinatown.

Binondo Church is one of the known landmark in Chinatown. It is situated in the heart of Binondo and in front of Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz. It is also known as Minor Basilica of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz and Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Parish. The Church was founded in 1596. That's a way way back until it was destroyed in 1762 and completed in 1852.

As I enter the church to pay respect and pray, I am amazed with the facades, sculptures and altar of Binondo Church.

Binondo Church is really a surviving one despite of wars and calamities the church still stood there. You must not missed this church when visiting Binondo.

I may not be religious but I love old churches, like this one in Binondo. The altar looks like a minor basilica (inside an actual minor basilica). The confessional was utterly out-of-place though, as it was too modern. Otherwise, it is truly a magnificent church.

By the time my date and I visited the church, it was then undergoing some renovation, which was great (most likely the restoration of the Binondo church was enabled through donations/contributions, like in many other churches).

As lovers of old, antiquated structures, we hope many more of Manila's historical landmarks and buildings should be restored too, although of course this is easier said than done (happy to hear, though, that the Met Theater is about to be restored).

Aside from the fact that Binondo church is so near to many chinese restau gems 128513, I've always liked going to mass here bec of the beautiful facade it used have but sadly, it no longer looks the way does on the pic since they've done some restorations and renovations. Anyhow, though I seldom go here anymore, I still love how it gives of that old manila church vibe and spirit 9962️. I hope they get to keep it that way despite the new look it has now. 9786

The place is really nice ventilations everywhere. However, it is not centralized. But i like how the church was constructed. It was like a cathedral. It was my first time to enter the church and i was on the impression that it was very old and no one maitains it since it is located in Manila. To my surprise it was fully painted with clean surroundings which is a great place to pray.

How we chose to end our food trip, with a prayer and a happy heart...10084

I'm so impressed with the new facade of the church, though renovations are still ongoing... Though Binondo is a pretty busy place, you will find that the church is very peaceful... A sanctuary from the hustle and bustle outside... We lit candles and said our intentions, then bid Chinatown adieu for now...128522

Food tripping is best in binondo. Not only you are able to get mouth watering but affordable local and Chinese cuisine too. Like this Dumpling shabu shabu that costs 130Php only. Too spicy not to be shared haha! The dumplings taste good though the soup for me is too oily.

Celebrated the Eve of Lunar Year yesterday. amazing fireworks, hundreds of tikoy, hopia and other authentic Chinese goodies were in Ongpin Street. There was also a line in Shanghai Fried Siopao. Today, if you don't have any plans, go to binondo 128077 See and breathe the festivities.

Grew up beside this church. If you're looking for a more dated church background, it's well preserved 400 year old facade would be better than those in intramuros. The inner architecture is a little more modern with new paintings and structures added every several years.
