Went here on the last day of my business trip in Cebu to have a power breakfast. I read a lot of reviews about their coffee where you’ll get to choose on how you want your coffee to be prepared. So I chose an AeroPressed coffee (P140) and ordered a Triple-stack Buttermilk Pancakes with a very tasty Maple Butter and a choice of spiced maple syrup (P200).

A friend of mine, who is based in Cebu, took me to this cafe while he goes to work. I asked for a recommendation for place where I can work too with great food and coffee. So he took me there and was glad he did.

I started off with Mixed Berry Pancake (Php 280). It was beautifully presented. 5 stars for presentation. It had three pancakes with fresh fruits. FRESH STRAWBERRIES. It was just love.

then I order I ordered Flat White (Php 120) affordable good quality coffee. It was smooth and fruity taste. A must try when you are in Cebu.

I figured since I won't be able to visit this restaurant any time soon. I ordered a savory dish. I Spam Musubi (Php 250) glazed Spam slices, poached egg and brown rice. It was filling and the flavor of spicy Japanese mayo and glazed Spam worked well together.

If you get a chance to visit this establishment, I highly recommend it.

Instagram worthy place. Pricey too. We went at around 9am and it was scorching hot outside and was pretty hot inside too. the place was small and voices of the long table with patrons which looked like celebrating a birthday was deafening I couldn't exactly hear what my tablemates were saying.

We got a variety of orders. for appetizer we got the spinach dip which was 128077🏻(can ask for refill of the toast that comes with it). I was a little surprised that my order of bacon silog was kinda lacking uhhh bacon? (first pic) well it did say a thick slice but it was more like a pork belly than bacon. Presentation was good tho.We also got the plain pancakes with maple syrup to share there were 3 pieces and pancakes were huuuuge and very heavy.

Hay I missed being able to write reviews here so much! 128569 #busy

Anyhoo, I'm writing this before I sleep and it's getting me all hungry now. 128569 This is a continuation of the BF's 4 days weekend visit here in Cebu. I've wanted to dine here for a long time now, but a colleague of mine (who used to be a media person) kept on saying it wasn't that good so I always end up going somewhere else. But then again JP G's review here (and even article) says otherwise, so I planned a brunch date here with J. 128568

So we ordered their bestsellers, their Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffles (Php 320) and Mom's Beef Tapa Silog (Php 330). OMG, both were absolutely delicious! The chicken was nicely crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside. It was perfectly seasoned and the syrup served with the waffles went so well with the meat. The tapa was marvelous! Thick cuts with a generous flavor of garlic and soy sauce and was nicely sweet! The meat was very tender too! YUMMY!!! It was awesome too because they use brown rice for the sinangag so I felt less guilty wiping the bowl clean. 128571128571128571

We paired our fantastic food with a couple of their bestselling coffee too. J had the Long Black (Php 100) and I had their Mocha (Php 140) and both were really good too! I'm no big coffee drinker but I loved my cup of chocolatey coffee! It was well balanced and had just the right sweetness. Their coffees pair really well with their food! 128571

Also on our visit, I just knew that the place had quite a rapport to Cebuanos because Erwan Heussaff stepped in along with some of the prominent Cebu bloggers. 128576 I really wanted to take a photo but I got too shy. 128569

I'll definitely come back! I have my eyes on their Bacon Silog for next time! 128571

This posh and trendy cafe is absolutely a glutton’s haven of delicious breakfast possibilities.

Unfortunately, the waffles and pancakes were not available when we went there. Hence we tried their other food varieties.

Since the name says it all, their main offering is all day breakfast indulgence though their menu contains other meal specials apart from morning food recipes.

There were a few personal favorites that seemingly delighted our taste buds and filled every inch of our tummies with food bliss.

Mom’s Tapa Silog is one of their signature dishes that I refused not to sample. The great chewy texture of the meat with a variety of savory and tasty flavors did not disappoint.

Salmon Silog which is also one of their best sellers was incredibly delicious, truly a guilt-free treat.

Prawn and Pomelo Salad which is a healthy meal option was so perfect in taste not to mention its great presentation.

The Breakfast Skillet which is good for sharing was like a banquet of happiness that kisses the boring breakfast goodbye because of the massive components such as French toast, sausage, sunny side up eggs, bacon and veggies.

Their signature drink called Birdseed Tea was a liqueur that was refreshingly satisfying.

It's a perfect place to chill and dine with family or friends.

Okay so this place is relatively new, it's located at the back side of Axis Entertainment Avenue, like right behind Burger King. Actually, my cousin was the one who discovered this place, since he just lives nearby and well also because we share our love for food.

Anyway, let me share a little bit about myself with you guys. I'm seriously not a morning person and i'm pretty sure a lot of you share the same sentiment as me. I love breakfast food though, which is why i agreed to join my relatives for an early breakfast that day.

First thing i noticed about this place though is it looks classy with just minimal interior designs. It was well lit inside because the walls are mostly glass, so they just let the natural rays of light, light up the room. They also have small plants placed on their tables which was pretty cute. I also liked that they have a couch available where you can feel more relaxed and at home. The place looks clean and inviting. What i didn't like though is that they didn't have blinds to roll down when it's getting too hot inside, especially with our really hot weather nowadays. So i hope they'd improve on that. They also have wifi there, so that’s a plus.

As for the food, My cousin ordered Breakfast Skillet (Php 390), that had breakfast sausage, spinach, herbed hash brown, roasted tomato, strips of bacon, two sunny side up eggs and french toast. This dish is good for 2, so my cousin and uncle shared this dish and seemed satisfied with their order.

My aunt, ordered SPAM MUSUBI (Php 315 ), that had glazed spam slices, nori brown rice, onions, japanese mayo, nori, 63 degree sous vide egg, and sesame seeds. She wanted something heavy and easy to make, that's why she ordered this dish. I wasn't actually expecting her order to look like a bowl of brown rice, with few slices of spam toppings. I was actually expecting it to look like rolled spam sushi or maki. Anyway, I tried a scoop of this dish and it was good, It just didn't taste anything special though.

Lastly, my order was EGGS BENEDICT (Php 280), that had homemade bacon ham, wilted spinach, 63 degree sous vide egg, and hollandaise sauce. This dish is actually one of my favorite breakfast foods. I love how perfect the eggs were cooked, i just felt like my egg needed a little salt, because it tasted bland. I mean it would be better if the flavours weren't focused only at the bottom part of this dish. My eggs were a bit cold too, would taste better if this dish was still warm. As i cut through my eggs benedict, i got to taste this dish from top to bottom. I I loved that i could taste the butter on my bread and also the seasoned boiled spinach. Best part was when the yolk was dripping down to my sandwich, which gave it that yolky taste and rich flavor. Overall, i was still able to enjoy this dish, and i think it’s a really great dish. Just a few more adjustments and this dish will taste perfect.

I can't wait to try the other dishes too though, looking forward to my next visit.

BREAKFAST food is always a good idea. 128525

I'm seriously loving this newest chic cafe in Cebu's Axis Entertainment Avenue - Bird Seed. Just from looking from the outside you'll know this place is special. From the industrial finish, the hipster vibe, the natural lights, the NY coffee feel, and the minimalist but stylish interiors, everything is on point. How can you not be enticed to go in?!

The place is not all looks! The food is superb. Their beef fajitas, and their butter chicken with waffles are to die for. The beef tapa is so-so so best to veer away from that. The other items will more than make up for it.

Their coffee is a must try as well. Their Cold Brew packs a wallop and extremely delish. The flat white and mocha is also good picks.

Seriously having Cebu Sepanx today and missing this awesome spread from Bird Seed Café!
