Recently had a quick staycation in City Garden Hotel Makati as a preview to their Valentine Package - Romance at the Garden. The package included breakfast buffet for 2 in their other restaurant named Bistro. The buffet is priced at 495Php nett and is also available for walk-in customers.

The buffet area was well organized with one section dedicated to the dishes, etc. The tables were set properly and I liked that all chairs were cushioned. The restaurant was well lit with a lot of natural light shining through the many huge windows of the place. Loved the warm tones from the wooden pillars adorned with bright lamps. Overall, the ambiance was very light and cozy. Perfect for a great start of one's day!

The buffet was nothing grand - it was simple, enough for a filling breakfast. They have an assortment of dishes - Filipino Classic Favorites like Pork Tocino, Adobo and fried Bangus. They also have the usual western flare like sausages, buttered potatoes and fish fillet. Care for some Asian portion? The spread includes Mi Goreng!

Is omelette your thing? They have this "Make your own Omelette" station! Choose what you want to put in your omelette and they'll cook it for you! Cheese, ham, tomatoes, bell peppers, spring onions, garlic, onions? They've got all these covered! Want to add some seasoning? Just let them know!

"Make your own Fried Rice" is also a thing here. You can choose which meat to add, which condiments, seasoning and veggies as well. They also offer Congee or Rice Porridge, an assortment of bread that you can toast, butter and some pre-packed jams.

If you have kids, worry not because they have a section for breakfast cereals too! Koko Krunch, Corn Flakes and even Rice Crispies - take your pick.

Conscious about your weight? Indulge in their salad station that will let you customize your salad - fresh and crisp greens, an assortment of veggies, cold cuts and dressing. They also have potato salad with bits of bacon in a tasty mayo based dressing.

Like bacon? You can request for some just by asking one of their staff. Not only that, you can also request for danggit, which were so good I tell you - crisp and salty just the way I like it!

If poached egg is your game, you can also request for this. Sitting on top of white bread, two runny poached eggs will be given and I like to season mine with black pepper and some salt. I actually liked the versatility here and how much they consider the needs of their customers.

Then of course the dessert section! You can choose from their selection of chocolate cookies, mini muffins and even mini cupcakes. They also have buchi, if you don't like any of the sweet stuff. If you are into fruits, fret not because they also offer an assortment - pineapple, watermelon, papaya and even honey dew.

Beverages are already included in the package - a choice of brewed coffee, hot chocolate, pineapple or orange juice.

Service can be quite slow and their wait staff tends to forget about requests but their Captain Waiter - Jhox Yanson - keeps the energy high and makes sure that customers have everything they need.
