Bistro is one of the most visited restaurants in Coron Island today. I've been to the island the 1st time with the client and they insist to eat at this Mediterranean themed-French dish joint. The 1st experience was ok.

This time I came with my Russian relatives for dinner. Food is still ok. A bit pricey for a local joint but since the bistro caters to foreign guests, the size of the serving fits the person they serve.

All is good except the service. The French owner cuts overhead costs by hiring only 2 waiters for 18 tables and 2 bars... They obviously don't live up to their name Bistro, which originated during WWI when French restos needed to serve Russian soldiers. To Russians BISTRO actually means FAST! 45-mins to 1 hr waiting time for food led my Russian relatives to start WWIII here in Coron. Not a good impression. :D anyways, it's good to be on their side this time! ;)

Food is ok. I ordered the onion soup which was good. The broth was excellent but lacked onions. My bowl had way to much peppercorns though. I also got the pork tenderloin in herbs and butter. Didn't taste the butter, and the pork was smothered in pepper. As a side, I chose stewed potatoes but I was served fries instead. Wish they had better service too.

the menu wasn't impressive so i hesitated and just ordered cordon bleu and a bolognese pasta — but after tasting both i was surprised to find them really excellent! i wish i had ordered a richer fare and maybe some wine but i did not bring enough money (the price is way up there compared to all the other restos in the area). i came out of the place happy though. it's almost al fresco as the bistro is open air albeit under a roof. nothing fabulous about the decor and set up as well but it comes across as cozy and homey as well.

Went here twice during our trip because my friend and I can't get enough of their Margarita pizza. It was freshly baked with all the right ingredients. It goes great with beer, as well.

Great food, service is quicker than most of the establishments in the area. Perfect hen you're starving after a long day! Owner's a nice guy as well!
