I'm on a quest of finding which of the sauces available at BLK512 is the best.

For this visit I tried the matcha one and it was just okay. The matcha taste was so subtle that it's just white chocolate for me. It didn't complement well with everything. Though I still enjoyed the taste of my order, I just found the consistency of the froyo to be different to what I used to have at their SM North branch.

+1 star for the servers who were all smiles despite the long queue.

P.S. So far I like their caramelized milk, speculoos, and purple yum sauces. 128069

Cant miss this when im at megamall. My base here was malt sandwivh but honestly it would be best to use fools gold instead. Matcha sauce wasnt matcha at all. Next time taro or varlhona choc would be better.

I walked to Megamall after a satisfying lunch at Podium. I really wanted to get my craving for Charcoal Frozen Yogurt.

I'm too hesitant to go adventurous at BLK513. Its not cheap to experiment on ingredients 128514. Their Dark Skim Cup already costs PHP175. My usual order would be Dark Skim Cup with Malt Sandwich, Kiwi, Peaches and Matcha Milk Cake.

I take back what I mentioned earlier because I was feeling a little adventurous. I added handmade smores for PHP25. Have you heard of the byword, "Nasa huli na ang pagsisisi"? I shouldn't have added those handmade smores. It did not go well with my usual mix. The texture was just off but I was still able to finish it.

Sorry for the Photo. Haha! 128514

The taste is just okay and the price is just too much. You can even get a much lower price at Kenny's.

They didn’t serve their menu that had premade concoctions due to lack of ingredients. For me, that was good but yeah, probably made delayed froyo decisions for some.

Yep, the gray really looks good against that green background. I chose the cup type but you could get their Dark Skim Cone for P170. That would include two toppings. For the cup, you have your choice of 1 crunch, 2 fruits and a sauce. For the crunch section, there’s an additional P5 if it’s of the premium type. The same goes for the sauce but priced at P10. I tried their Valhrona Vegan Granola (premium crunch) with bananas and drizzled with Cereal Milk. I know…2 fruits right? But they consider bananas as two fruits.
When I had a taste, the combination was just right. The froyo had this smooth and creamy taste. The good thing about Greek Yogurt is that it doesn’t leave you with that sour taste. So one would have a tendency to eat it through. The case was the same for me. The serving was huge and could be shared BUT I finished it. With that froyo combination, it left me filled and very happy.

BLK 513-- the black Greek yogurt which is all over IG! It is tart and somewhat sweet-- very yummy... It is true that once you go black, you can't go back!128540

I prefer getting the dark skim cup (P185) over the cone (P170), just to avoid the messiness in case the grayish froyo starts to melt. Ordering the cup also comes with one crunch, two kinds of fruits, and one sauce... I recently tried their two new sauces-- wild purple (ube) and matcha... I found the wild purple sauce to be a little light in the ube taste. I wish the ube flavor was more concentrated and pronounced. I didn't really like the matcha sauce, because of the lumpy texture... I would rather go back to the salted caramel or white chocolate sauce!🙃 but it was still enjoyable...

Haven't had the chance to try their new offerings of cookies and skim milk, but they look pretty enticing!

Note: I wish they can make the serving process faster. Lines are always long and waiting time is about 30-40mins...

Salted caramel sauce in the picture!128522

127846I'm not usually the type who likes to jump into the bandwagon, so to speak, when it comes to anything that's currently trending in the food and drink scene. It usually takes me at least a year before finally getting to try that once-"talk-of-the-town" food item. For instance, it took me 10 years before finally getting to taste Zagu and shawarma for the first time. No hurries.

After over a year when BLK 513 was launched to a rousing reception (and monstrous lines), it's just this day that I finally had the chance to try it.

It's a good thing sometimes about not hotly following food trends and letting the hype subside first, before finally getting to try the place and its food. You don't suffer long lines, you get served quickly, and you order and eat in peace. 128513

I spotted BLK 513 on a happenstance and found out -- no crowds! No long lines! No fuss. So finally I had the chance to try out what BLK 513 had to offer. I found out that they're currently offering their limited edition BLK Red Cup (₱185), in time for the holidays! Red velvet cheese? Hmmm... So I ordered this by curiosity.

It's aesthetically pleasing - the red velvet cheese sauce trickling over the dark skim yoghurt enhanced with activated charcoal. Under the dark frozen goodness, were the soft, chewy and gooey butter bars, and my two choices of fruits: strawberry and kiwi. The whole concoction was topped with sprinkled grated coconut to simulate fallen snow on Santa's hat (at least judging from what my own order looked like).

From the first scoop, there was certainly a melange of flavors and textures playing in my mouth -- sweet and sour and just a bit salty, then creamy, gooey, soft and crunchy (due to the seeds of the strawberry and kiwi). I liked it. I loved the butter bars in particular!

I'm not a yoghurt fan (nor I don't like it, it's just OK) and to me BLK 513 is just like another yoghurt like BonChon's KoYo -- basically sour because of the good live bacteria -- but the difference in their taste lies in their assortment of toppings which sets one yogurt to another.

One thing's for sure though -- it didn't make me feel guilty even after scoop, after scoop! The servings were pretty big but I think ₱185 is a bit too much though for a yoghurt. So I could only see it as a grand treat once in a while.

'Twas worth the try. Next time I'll choose the much sweeter toppings. 128522

We tried this dark frozen yogurt and I'm surprised! I liked it! I'm not really a yogurt eater but I liked it. I am really enjoying my pregnancy now because I am eating foods that I'm not use to eat.
With this you have to choose what crispies, fruits and syrup that you want to add to your glass. I don't know what my husband chose because he is the one who ordered this but the fruits are kiwis and strawberries, he chose matcha for the syrup. We will definitely try this again!
This can also help you detox, this made me poop the next day. With my situation now, I'm taking iron for being pregnant and its hard. This helped do it without any effort. Sorry for this paragraph but it is really a detox food. 128512128513

After a hearty meal at Makansutra, I was so happy to see a dessert kiosk along my way to the car park. Curious to try this unique charcoal infused yogurt, I lined up and placed my order: dark skim cup with premium vegan granola, peaches, strawberry topped with salted chocolate!!! It was yummy! I love the sour taste of yogurt combined with fruits and crunchy granola with salty and sweet chocolate sauce on top. Will definitely try their other toppings next time!127846127846127846

It's right after you have a heavy meal, when you just realize how it is perfect to cleanse your tongue with something sweet or something cold. It's also the right time then to realize that BLK 513 has a kiosk at SM Megamall. I was a little bit curious of the long lines formed, though at first it's odd to see a yoghurt in black. Black in a way because the content is an activated charcoal, so how does it taste? The location is somehow strategic, situated in between two buildings, midway section. your pocket will hurt somehow for a regular cup, price is unreasonable for a curious thing. Tried the Matcha mixed yoghurt, nice one you'll be able to customize toppings and fruits to incorporate the charcoal yoghurt. With swirls of it, cup for it otherwise somehow solves its price value. At first it melts on your tongue and then the taste of sourness eventually exudes. Matcha somehow also balanced its sweet slash sourness, and fruits as well were able to compensate everything. When it comes to activated charcoal, well the effort is on its non appetizing color nonetheless a typical yoghurt taste. I have no idea about the color and on how it was produced to make such a yoghurt effort. It was still an encounter, worthy to end a meal. Still force to try for the second time, perhaps due to its price value.

After an extremely filling dinner, a friend and I who have no respect for our diet whatsoever, decided to have dessert 128514 We went to BLK513, as it looked interestingly weird (ie., gray-colored frozen yoghurt), and we both haven't tried this place yet.

Upon falling in line, my friend and I were figuring out how and what to order. The menu was displayed in their digital board, but it wasn't intuitive for me-- the display was too busy. We were immediately asked how many we were ordering, so we said two. Hence, the staff basically made our decision for us.

So for the PHP185 worth of frozen yoghurt, I get to choose a crunch, 2 fruit types, and a sauce. I chose the crunch that had nuts and some fruits in it, kiwi and strawberries for the fruits, and an espresso/chocolate type or sauce. The staff taking our orders was trying his best to appear friendly, but it wasn't coming through as much as he wanted to. Not that of a big deal, as it was almost closing time for the mall, and he was probably tired. Would have appreciated if he was a tad more friendly, though.

I don't know if the unusual color of the frozen yoghurt added to the initial odd taste, or my flavors didn't work that well, but it wasn't love at first bite. The fruits were a bit too sour and the coffee-flavored syrup tasted a bit out of place. From a price standpoint, a bit expensive for a cup of froyo, but worth at least a try.

Will probably be back, but will split my order with someone else next time, as the serving size was a bit too much for one person. 128077🏼

This is definitely a "tall order" 127846. I got the Dark A La Mode at P190. It has vegan brownies, strawberries, mangoes, and salted chocolate gravy. Overall taste is sour with hints of sweetness and salt. I enjoyed this though most days, I'd prefer ice cream over yogurt hehe. What's funny about this experience is, the yogurt has melted halfway through and I looked like eating mud from a cup.
