I was in the vicinity yesterday after my meeting at DOST so I told my driver to drive to Maginhawa to have lunch.

I searched on |ooloo and found Bochic.

Ordered their Crispy Pork with teriyaki sauce.

The pork's all fat and there's not a single meat. The skin is crispy which is good but it's still not worth it.

The serving size is too small. I think the rice is only about 1/3 of a normal cup serving in other places. Also there's I think about 6 pcs of pork.

The taste of the teriyaki sauce is good but again the pork's all fat!

Also had their Lemon Grass cooler which tastes like water with a dash of tea. It tastes meh.

Never coming back.

Great place for hanging out especially on the roof deck. It exudes a chill and relaxed vibe. The limited menu is solid - everything looks promising and the prices are reasonable. And oh, did I mention the Beer Candied Bacon?

They had me at BEER CANDIED BACON (Php120) which is basically bacon marinated in beer syrup, served either with rice or with bread. I opted to have mine as a sandwich. It's a pretty decent serving size, perfect for a light lunch or snack. The bacon was meaty and had good texture, pretty easy to chew. I thought it was slightly sweet for my taste, otherwise pretty good.

Definitely worth going back here for more!

Beer candied bacon for the win! You can also order it with or without rice as a meal or pulutan. Very affordable prices as well.

0 Star for service

waited more than 30mins for order to be served. (No line when I ordered). then you'll find out that it was left on the side and they served it not warm.

(I followed up every 5 minutes thinking why it took so long) they kept saying they're effin preparing it.

They ruined my meal!

Beer-candied bacon forever!!! 128077128077128077 Always get it with rice though as the bun could be a little awful/too dry sometimes.

Glad we gave this place a second try. We didn't like their pulled pork sandwich. It was dry and they used ordinary buns. We also thought that their lemongrass tea would be served in a fishbowl, as illustrated, which at 50 would be a steal. Turned out it was just a small glass.

Bochic with rice though was a different story. It was surprisingly good. The pork was tender and it really worked with pesto sauce. I had my doubts at first but Ian insisted we try it, and I'm glad he did. We went back for this pulled pork with pesto dish but I recommend staying away from the sandwiches.

First reviewer! Woot woot! 128516128516128516

Apologies for the photo as it had no light in the place, had to use my flash. I did like what I had, though. Tried the Beer Candied Bacon on bread and I really liked it! 128513 Could also be eaten with rice and at Php 120 it's not too expensive.

Will definitely come back. 128522
