I’ve never been a beach loving person till a few years back when I was dragged out of my house to bask under the scorching sun. The usual me would dread the idea of being burnt black and having to cut down on carbs just to look decent in photos. But for some reason, it became a lot more interesting. I’m not sure if it has something to do with getting older but the relaxing sound of the water hitting the shore or boat and having a carefree life (for at least a few days) were just some of the things I look forward to whenever I visit an island. Of course, good food is also in the picture. And a trip to Bohol is not complete without visiting Bohol Bee Farm.

Hello, Bohol Bee Farm.

This popular dining destination in Panglao has been a favorite of tourists and locals alike. Aside from its spacious restaurant, the huge compound also houses a nursery of herbs and various plants, spa, and several cottages as B&B accommodations. There are also water sports equipment available for rent for those interested to enjoy the sea.

Since we already booked somewhere near Alona Beach, we decided to just enjoy Bohol Bee Farm’s mouthwatering dishes.

R went with the bestseller Spare Ribs (PHP290) while I ordered Grilled Fish (PHP360). Both are served with organic red die and a choice between garden salad or cassava fresh lumpia. For drinks, we got Lemongrass Juice (PHP80), Bee Fi (PHP120) and Watermelon Ginger(PHP100).

While waiting for our meal, we were given complementary cab-cab (or cassava paste turned into crackers) with squash bread, mango and malunggay spreads.

The cab-cab reminded me of fish crackers as it was quite airy. But it has a faint sweet taste which I liked. The soft and fluffy squash bread was baked to perfection and went well with the spreads.

Our drinks were very refreshing and made us feel a bit more comfortable in the very humid al fresco dining space.

R’s Bee Fi, a blend of camote, mango and pineapple, may sound weird at first but all ingredients work together.

But I prefer my watermelon ginger which had simpler taste.

I wasn’t able to try the lemongrass juice as it belonged to R’s dealer. But based on how fast he drank it, it must be very good as well.

Soon, our mains were served.

We were surprised with our huge plates of spare ribs and grilled fish as both seemed to be good for sharing. Even R’s dealer was overwhelmed and asked us to help him finish his order of spare ribs.

The spare ribs were tender and each bite was packed with flavor. However, I was expecting a barbecue type of sauce instead of something that tastes mechado as it was on the sweet side. It was a very Filipino take on spare ribs. Nonetheless, it was pretty good and we managed to finish all of it.

My grilled fish was divine! I loved how flavorful my blue marlin was and that I didn’t have to scrimp on fish per spoonful of rice.

The garden salad was good too though nothing extraordinary.

It was just really pretty to take several photos of.

After our meal, we decided to go down to the dive shop for a few snapshots.

I noticed that there are also a bunch of lounge chairs you could laze around on while sunbathing and enjoying the picturesque view. I’m just not sure though if non-resort guests could use it but I didn’t see any sign saying such.

Overall, it was a fantastic lunch and I’d definitely dine here again on my next Bohol trip.

Bee Farm in Bohol is a private owned resort and hotel but it is best known for two things — their restaurant and their organic farm. The restaurant is hidden at the very end of the area. To get there, we had to walk across a lovely garden that sets the tone and the rustic atmosphere. They served organic foods!

After our healthy lunch we decided to walk around the resort and take pictures. The beach is unsuitable for swimming.

We tried their Ice Cream. The flavors of the ice cream were just as healthy as their menu at the restaurant. They have malunggay, spicy ginger, avocado, mango. My husband tried malunggay (masarap siya, promise!) and mine is mango (favorite). Another interesting is the cone made from dried cassava and you can actually witness how they make it. We joined also the bee tour.

This place worth trying — it’s the overall dining experience of which taste is just a part. The food is healthy, the atmosphere is cozy, the place is rustic and the service is great. Great experienced though! 128077

Tour was bitin... I was expecting to see a lot of bees or honey, pero, wala eh... Isang case lang ang pinakita sa amin tas tapos na yung tour. But that was also because of the earthquake daw, most of the bees ran away.... Only recommend this place if you want to buy some pasalubong.

No beachfront but still worth a day trip, when in Bohol.
I love eating with the ocean view. Interior is very eclectic and quirky without going overboard. I love their ice cream most of all! Gluten free casava cone paired with coconut milk ice cream in various flavors.

The moment I landed at the airport I didn't waste time. I hired a tryk right away to go on a tour on my first day instead of heading straight to the hostel.

I was able to hire a tryk for a day just outside the airport at P600. It includes the Panglao tour and drop off at the hotel.

Part of the Panglao tour is the Bohol Beach farm. I was hesitant to check the place at first coz I thought I would just be seeing a small portion of rows of plants in a plastic pot. That's what I saw on our way to the entrance. Thinking that's all there is to it so there'll be no need to go near each plant. Lol. The tryk driver also told me that the place is not as beautiful as before coz the owner renovated the place a bit and added a restaurant in it.

I saw that they are selling something at the entrance so I decided to check it. I bought something for me and my sister and while waitin for my change I tried to go inside...and woah!!! The place is not as bad and as small as I thought! The place is actually big, colorful, festive and for some parts instagram worthy. There's even a cafe near the entrance and the famous buzz shop! The sign that read "Dive shop" caught my attention so the curious side of me went further and got interested. As I try to look for the shop, I was able to explore the entire farm. I didn't know that the place is that big! I have to walk farther and even went down a slope just to reach the dive shop. I also passed thru a restaurant and an empty space where there are tables and chairs. There are hammocks too at some of the trees and cabanas where you can just sit and relax.

When I reached the dive shop the view is mesmerizing!! It's located at the downhill part of the farm overlooking the ocean. There are beach chairs and bean bags where you can just relax and enjoy the view. There is also a mini bar located at the side and ofcourse the dive shop where you can buy or rent stuff for diving, paddle boards and kayaking.

Going back to the main entrance is a little tiring coz I have to climb my way up. I also got lost on my way back but it's ok coz it was worth it.

The place is actually nice. Don't let the outer appearance or comments from other people fool you 128514

Was looking forward to visit this place on a weekend trip with a friend from work. We didn't get to stay very long though. We just grabbed half a meal, bagged the rest to go, then hurried to check in at our hotel. Would have loved to come back and get a really good feel of the place though. The restaurant has a good view, friendly staff, and a menu with widely-varied choices.

I got the grilled fish plate, which was really worth the price given their serving size. The salad was nothing special, really, it was just 10x more visually appetizing than most - no false advertising there, it really was. 128525 But still, a salad is a salad is a salad.

My favorite part though was their homemade ice cream. They offerer at least 8 flavors for 50Php each, but we only got to try two each. I had the malunggay, which is supposedly their best seller (and I have no doubts why, because it was amazinggg 128557128557128557) and the dragonfruit (tasty and really full of flavor). If I could come back, I would do it for the ice cream and the view!

It was December of last year when we went here. Unfortunately, they don't have daytour at that time because of the season.

Staffs are accomodating. Before they serve our food, they gave us complimetary appetizer composed of cassava chips, mango spread, malunggay spread, salsa and wheat bread. Those were all delish! Our all organics meal arrived and I'm impressed! I never thought that organic food can be that tasty and appealing to taste buds! ;)

After lunch, we had ice cream of course. In replacement to usual sugary cones, Bohol bee Farm uses cones made of cassava chips. And boy, it's better!

Bohol Bee Farm is one of the place you shouldn't miss when you're in Bohol.

There's no entrance fee, so you can check the whole place. They offer tour for only 30 pesos/pax. Our tour guide showed and discussed the different types of herbs & flowers they have and their uses, we went to see the bees ( They will let you hold the drone frame full of bees. Scary!), we also check how their products are made (They taught us how to weave using those old weaver machine).

After the tour, we went to The Buzzz shop to buy some goodies. They have really amazing and healthy products, and their staffs are really accomdating. I've tried all their spread (Mango, Malunggay, Chocolate, Honey, Pesto, etc.), tasted the different kinds of honey ( Wild, Molave, Hard), bread ( Must try: Squash muffin) and other organic stuff.

Aside from their products, you should never forget to eat at their restaurant that has a beutiful view of the sea. They serve, fresh, healthy and organic food. For lunch, I ordered Grilled fish, with organic garden salad, and fresh lemongrass drink. They also gave complimentary food: freshly-baked bread, cabcab with malunggay spread. For dessert, we tried the Malunggay Ice cream. I love it!

I really enjoyed everything. The view, their products, and the food. Next time I visit Bohol, I will definitely go back to Bohol Bee Farm.

Sustainable, fresh, healthy, organic...these words seem to be the thrust of Bohol Bee Farm. All the ingredients they use for the meals come from their own farm! And they don't use any chemicals or pesticides.

Their restaurant is facing Bohol Sea so it's a great scenery to see while enjoying the healthy meals they serve. The complimentary pesto and mango spreads are to die for! Even if they serve organic food, prices are very affordable and servings are generous!

Visit to Bohol Bee Farm is not complete without touring the whole place. For P30/pax, a tour guide will show the visitors around the property and share info about different herbs and spices. And the highlight of it all? The close encounters with the bees! There are over 120 boxes around the area full of bees. A box contain around 60,000 bees. When in Bohol, don't miss Bohol Bee Farm!

5 stars for this restaurant! Very good ambience and most importantly super duper delicious food! We ordered a seafood pizza, spaghetti with meatballs, organic chicken and mango shake. I also bought a pesto spread, wild honey and corn coffee on their simple cute shop. Can't wait to go back soon! 128522

Even at 9:00pm we were still able to catch up for a quick sugar fix - homemade ice cream! Yay! I had ginger ice cream, a divine, creamy goodness with a spicy kick! Yum!

If you're going to Panglao, make sure to have a sidetrip here. Spend a night or two in this beautiful resort, I'm sure you'll love how relaxing and serene this place is. Their suites are spacious with nice bathrooms! There's a good view of the ocean while lounging in the bathtub, I've actually spent an hour doing nothing. Muni muni lang! Haha. Anyway, plenty of interesting things to see inside the resort so don't be lazy, and check the whole resort. They serve organic food too. Think of a bowl of salad with pretty edible flower petals, cute diba. However, my favorite among their food is the homemade ice cream! Super yummy!! I've tasted their malunggay ice cream and it's really good. Since Bohol Bee Farm is an advocate of healthy living, they also use their own cone. Their ice cream cones are made of "cabcab" or dried cassava, which is equally satisfying too.

By the way, their sundeck got an amazing view. Kakarelax! This is an ideal place for family with kids. Pero pwede din naman ang couples. :)

Having the lunch served on our table made me think that really, gardens do grow on plates128513 It was really refreshing seeing their mix of greens garnished with the playful colors of edible flowers! And the dressing, that perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors holding every element of this dish that they call the organic garden salad. The seafood pasta is also good but there is nothing really distinct about it compared to the rest of the seafood pastas I've tried. It is decently seasoned though, all with the clams, shrimps, squid, fish and assorted fresh herbs so it isn't a bad choice. Cabcab is also interesting - their own version of taco made with dried cassava paste. It is served with their homemade organic pesto and green tomatoes which will basically lighten up the mild tasting cabcab chips.

I think Bohol Bee Farm is definitely something to consider when visiting Bohol. It may hurt your budget a bit but it's worth every penny that you are to spend. Food may lack the explosive flavors but with their kitchen being 90% organic, the chefs are doing a pretty good job. It was a healthy and aesthetic feast of authenticity without having to compromise much the quality. One thing is for sure, you will leave the place with both your stomach and eyes pleased10084

I received a pasalubong of honey butter from the H. It's more honey than butter, like dry jam. It was still pretty good, the honey provided a different taste and texture to the butter.

I must confess I've only been here once, over 5 years ago I think. What I can say was we truly loved the food here that we ate here 2 nights in a row during our stay in Panglao. We would've eaten here more than that had we discovered this place sooner.

This is the place I first tried eating a flower in a salad. They had rose petals and some yellow daisy looking ones. It didn't add any flavor to the salad, but it did make the dish super colorful and appetizing. Their pumpkin bread and cassava bread was also delicious.

If and when we re-visit Panglao we'll surely dine here again.

Thanks Lexi M for the reco128522

I love the place!! The tourist guide thoroughly explained the behavior of the bees and the importance of the plants. Their signature ice cream is so good and tasty. At the back, there was a restaurant who has a nice view of the sea.

If you're the type of person who can appreciate nature's beauty then this place will just blow you away. Mind you i'm just starting off with the place's mood.

From the entrance, it would feel like you're about to go on a forest adventure. It's not a long walk from the entrance, but the moment you set foot on the restaurant floor you'd see a breath-taking view. You'd feel the sea breeze envoloping your body. Sadly I expected the sound of crashing waves but that's just asking for too much. Walk down the edge, and you will be able to see the sea floor. It's that clear.

Now let's go to the food. My girlfriend took me here, so I have no idea what's good. But the pictures on the menu will entice you enough to order one of them, or all if you're feeling rich. It's not that expensive though. So I'll just describe what I ordered. Honeyglazed Chicken with a side of fresh Cassava Lumpia. I'm not a big fan of vegetables, but the Cassava Lumpia was just amazing. The wrapper wasn't cold or hot, and the vegetables inside mixed well with the wrapper's flavor, but what really made it amazing was their peanut butter. It had peanut butter inside, which I think was made by them (not sure about this, but it didn't taste like any peanut butter i've eaten. And i have eaten a lot. From ludy's to Skippy). Then the Honeyglazed Chicken will surprise you. You'd expect that it would be something so sweet but it wasn't. It was roasted, then the honeyglaze was mixed with some sesame seeds. The honey's sweetness did not overpower the chicken's flavor. It complimented it. #12Days
