There are so many wonderful places in Pangasinan alone, so it’s definitely a requirement for a resident to visit them all!

Bolinao is the farthest northwestern tip of Pangasinan. It is known for Patar Beach and the Enchanted Cave. But recently, people are discovering swimming the numerous waterfalls in the area. Bolinao has several falls you can go to, but the famous ones are the Bolinao Falls 1, 2 and 3.

All of these are located at Samang Norte, Bolinao Eco Trail, Pangasinan. It’s before the main town of Bolinao and you need to turn left along the highway to get there. There are a bunch of tricycles you can rent to bring you to the falls for around 200-300 Pesos. If you want to go there by car, be warned that it’s an eco trail. That means the road is still rough, uneven, sometimes muddy when it’s rainy and very bumpy with huge jagged rocks (check out the video below or on Youtube). Our car is a bit lowered so we were a bit nervous to pass it.

When coming from Lingayen, you should follow the highway:

Lingayen > Labrador > Sual > Alaminos > Bani > Bolinao Eco Trail

You would not be passing by Bolinao's town proper, but you'll know you're near because the trail is just a few kilometers from Bani's town.

Now I haven’t heard about what you can see in falls 3, but if you want to go view the tall majestic falls, go to falls 1. If you want to go swimming, Falls 2 is ideal and there is a shortcut unpaved road towards there. It’s just a bit narrow though. So careful if there are other vehicles counterflowing. There is a huge parking space for cars but you still have to walk a trail for around 3-5 minutes.

Alright! So we arrived there fairly around 9 o’clock in the morning and there were already a bunch of people there. The barangay already built several sheds you can rent for 200 Pesos, and entrance fee to the falls is 20 Pesos per person. Life jackets/vest are available for rent for 50 Pesos a piece. They have various sizes for kids and adults.

There are several swimming holes you can dip into, and they are separated by rocks. So you have a cascading set of falls. The closest one to the entrance is shallow and great for children as well as the two adjoining swimming holes. However, one of them has a strong tide and the rocks are slippery. It’s better if you wear swimming shoes to protect your feet.

There is a spot across where people dive from a tree’s branch. It’s a bit deep, say around 10 feet. I didn’t get close enough to the bottom to be sure.

The whole river rushed down to one tall and wide falls. People jump off from the 20 feet+ top and some even do back flips and somersaults! The water there is really deep and not meant for children to swim around themselves.

The whole area has a couple of life guards watching them, but better keep an eye on each other to be sure as there are really a lot of people, most specially in summer.

The view is majestic and the waters are cool and prestine. It’s best to go swimming on a hot sunny day so you can cool off. There are also parts that are shaded by huge trees.

We brought our snorkel masks and saw that there are a lot of fishes underneath and even a fresh water crab!

The water really clear, and although it seems as if it’s shallow since you can see the bottom, be forewarned that it’s deeper than you think. So another note of warning is to be really careful.

Just check out our pictures and video to see for yourself since words aren’t really enough to describe the place.

You can bring food and there is no corkage fee. The downside is there is only one toilet and one outdoor shower. Plus the changing rooms are really raw and outdoorsy. So “maarte” people would really have a problem.

As a self proclaimed environmentalist, it saddens me to see that people who visit throw their garbage in the water. For example, I saw candy wrappers, foils from chips, water bottles and a lot of shampoo and conditioner sachets strewn along the floor.

I don’t know if they clean it up after the end of the day but I wish they provided trash cans. It makes me angry. I picked up most of the shampoo and conditioner sachets and placed it on one side. We were in line in the shower and the next people after us really didn’t care and threw their’s away too.

The good thing is, at least they dug up a hole for where the soapy water would go to so it wouldn’t go back to the river.

So that’s it. Just enjoy the video below. If you still cannot see it now, that means it’s still uploading on Youtube. :)

Our second leg of our summernotover adventure is pangasinan's hidden gem--Bolinao, a 45 minute drive from Alaminos.

Our first stop, bolinao falls 1. This wasn't part of our itinerary but since we're already in Bolinao, we've figured, why not. The road going to this place was a bit rugged but once you arrive you will get the feeling of nature's simplicity and rawness. This place is not that developed, you'll get what nature offers no fancy cottages or sheds.

The water is cold, clear and deep so a lifevest is a must for kids and nonswimmers. You can rent a vest for 50php. Entrance fee at 50 per head and bamboo sheds for 200. We didnt stay here too long so no sheds for us. after getting to the falls we just took a dive and swim. Kids enjoyed the waters too.

There are just some slippery and super rocky areas, so you would have to be careful not to get wounded.

Bolinao Pangasinan has a lot of beautiful places like beaches and falls. This one is the Bolinao Falls 1 which shows a majestic water stream. There are other falls, too, but the Bolinao Falls 2 is said to be the best. This place must be added to your next travel destination.

Bolinao Falls 2

I have been residing in Pangasinan for a while and I haven't thought that there exist a very beautiful place like Bolinao Falls, it was indeed for adventure and relaxation. There were three Kinds of falls in Bolinao but number 2 is the best. It was an hour and a half drive from the capital of Pangasinan which is Lingayen. Once you get to the area, you can park your vehicle and have a 3-5mins walk to the Falls. You have to pay a maintenance fee upon entrance. And you will be welcomed by the sound of raging to calm splashes of water. I have been inlove with how nature has made Bolinao Falls 2. There seemed to be Jacuzzis everywhere, you also get to dive and jump, it was a good spot for photo shoot as well.

Upon arrival at Bolinao Falls 1, you will be charged P20 per person and P50 for the parking fee. Rental for life vest is at P50 each but you can swim naman without it. It was not overcrowded unlike what I was expecting that's why I liked this place.

From the parking, you would need to go down the stairs to reach the falls. I wasn't able to ask how deep the water is but judging from the bluish-greenish color, I would say malalim siya. Hahaha!

The best part was jumping from the top of the falls which is around 20 feet high. It was my first time to jump but it will definitely be not my last! 128512

Oh, and use of the CR is P10.

I was here 2 weeks ago on a day tour. 128512

This place was 1st on our itinerary, the Bolinao Falls 2. There are 2 falls in this area, but we were told that Falls 1 didn't have much water that time, so we chose Falls 2. Well, it's summer. So. 128513

The road going there was disappointing. It will eat up about an hour of your time (per way) because you can't drive faster as the road isn't cemented, it's one heck of a bumpy ride.

Anyway, we were the 1st group to arrive there around 9AM, which was perfect as it's much easier to take pictures. 128247

I was expecting a falls like Ditumabo in Baler but this one is smaller. 128513

If you're an adrenaline junky, you can do numerous cliff jumping as like I said, it's a small waterfalls, about 12-14 feet from the cliff to the water's surface. Be careful though, as some parts have huge rocks at the bottom.

The water is deep, btw, about 15-18 feet. I like its green color and the sound of the water splashing down is just awesome & relaxing. 128077

I suggest going there early in the morning as this place can get easily crowded despite the rough road.

Entrance fee: 50
Cottage: 200

There are watering holes and then there are WATERING HOLES! Bolinao Falls is certainly God's handiwork. He must have made this one with the thought of giving his angels a nice place to cool off after doing a hard day of angel's work. The pool that collects the water from the falls is crystal clear and just the right depth for swimming and wading. Temperature is cool and typical of spring waters that come from the mountains. The place is surrounded by trees and the local barangay set up several bamboo huts. Again we were lucky to have the place almost to ourselves. According to our guide, best time to visit is from November to February when the water is deep enough for swimming. This is another one for the books! 128516

How does laying down on a comfy bed while watching a romantic sunset sounds? Yep, you got that right! But wait, there's more, beside these spacious beds which by the way you can lay down on all day long is the infinity pool, with the overlooking view of the sea. How cool could that be? This so-called little Santorini of the North is the perfect place for lovers, friends and families. Your 4-5 hour drive from Manila is definitely worth it because of the breathtaking view that it offers, plus you get to enjoy FREE water activities like kayaking and canoe. It is the most home-y environment you could ever imagine uphill. The interiors would really feel that you are at home. Sundowners resort, is not just about the beauty outside, it also offers the best customer service, The staff assures you that you will have the most awesome stay. Don't get shocked when you bump into the owner of the resort, because they are really hands on when it comes to their business. The owners would mingle and have a beer or two with the guests. Sundowners resort recently got the buzz because of its resemblance to Greece, so I definitely want you to experience it yourself bring along your family and friends and have the perfect vacation up north! #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway #looloo #bolinao #vscocam #vsco #travel #unwind

#WhereTwoGo in Bolinao Falls

This year, my boyfriend and I decided to go and explore the Philippines with just the two of us. Hence we thought of our own hashtag for our sweet escapades, which is #WhereTwoGo. First stop on our list is Bolinao. No need for some long introduction as this place is making its name on the must visit lists in the Philippines.

Bolinao Falls is just about 20 kilometers away from the town proper. There are three Bolinao Falls (Bolinao 1, 1 1/2 and 2) which is about 10-20 minutes apart. We decided to go to Bolinao Falls 2 as the locals said that it is the most enchanting among the three. Well true to their words, we were in awe when we saw this place. (Entrance fee is PhP 50)

The turquoise-colored water was so inviting! Though we've arrived around noon time, the water was still cold and refreshing. Lots of the locals were also jumping from the 15 feet high falls. That's why we didn't miss the chance to try our very first cliff jumping. It was scary at first time, but as I remember we've jumped around 5 to 6 times!

Because of this place, we've became an instant fan of waterfalls. Definitely going back to Bolinao for this! 10084️ #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

This is one of the highlights in Bolinao, Pangasinan. The place is not that far from the town proper. There are old big trees on the side of the falls. They also have cottages on the side that you can rent.

It was weekend when I came here so I'm expecting that there were plenty of people swimming here. As per the bantay, it would be best to go here on weekdays coz its lesser people than weekend. Well..if you are comfortable swimming with other folks then you're good here. I just noticed that cottages here are more commercialized than falls.

I came here without bringing my swimming trunks so I decided not to go on swimming(arte lang, hindi prepared). There's a registration fee pero dahil hindi ako maliligo, hindi ako pinagbayad nadala sa "Kopogian ko"9786( just joking). When you'll here, try exploring the upper areas and you'll see beautiful spots. Don't expect too much of this place. I hope that they'll implement "No diving Policy"coz I saw some kids diving which I think is very dangerous. In addition, It would be best if they'll put more trash can to maintain the cleanliness of the place. I gave this place just 3 stars because of the bottles and plastic bags floating in the water.

Travelosyo goes Bolinao!! This is Bolinao Falls 2. Entrance fee is 50php per head. Cottage fee is 200php. If my measurement is right the falls height is around 15-20ft tall and as per our guide its 18ft deep. I actually did cliff diving 128513 it was fun!! I hope that people who will visit this place are responsible enough to keep it clean. As per my last visit I'm disappointed to see few trashes within the cottage area. But the water is clean and clear. Extra caution since the rocks are covered with moss.

The photo was taken in Bolinao falls 1. I honestly didn't know that this humble town possesses such beauty, and to much more delight, it was likely untouched, different from the Bolinao falls 2 that I've seen so far.

The stairs going down to Bolinao Falls 1 was destroyed and the terrace that serves as spot for taking photos was also destroyed. A very enchanting place but not very much visited.

The waters are clear, clean and rocky, some parts are mossy and slippery. The falls is very tempting, I wanted to jump but kuya (my tour guide) told me that no one tried to swim/dive in this falls after an accident happened years ago. In addition, I don't know how to swim at the 12 feet deep water.

There are two falls in Bolinao that they plainly labeled Bolinao Falls 1 & 2. We went to #2, the shorter one where people can dive and swim. It may seem like a short jump but the water is 18 feet deep. Quite a sight to see but the water's mossy in some parts.

We weren't able to visit #1. I heard it's much higher and more secluded but they had to close it down indefinitely because according to the tour guide, someone died there last Holy Week due to underwater current. 128532

There are 2 Bolinao Falls. The picture is the 2nd bolinao falls where you can jump off and swim. The 1st one looks like a haunted falls. Sadly because it was not that taken care of the government of Pangasinan.
