My cousin really wanted to try Bonchon’s latest menu offering so we found ourselves back in its UP Town branch last Friday for lunch. This latest offering is called the Crispy Mandu Rice Bowl. The Mandu is basically Korean-style dumplings. They actually reminded me of fried gyoza when they were served to my cousin.

For Php 155, she got the set meal that includes the rice bowl along with Bulgogi Noodle Soup and a glass of iced tea. You can opt for a soy garlic glaze or a spicy glaze for your dumplings. Wasn’t able to ask her which of the two she chose. You can also upgrade to fried rice but it will cost an additional 25 bucks.

My cousin liked the Mandu and said she’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars. It was crispy but not too oily and the stuffing inside the dumpling was tasty. She also found getting the rice bowl, soup, and drink for 155 bucks very sulit.

For myself, I ordered the usual Wings Boxed Meal along with an upsized glass of iced tea. My go-to flavor for my chicken is always honey citrus so to cut through the sweetness, oiliness, and potential umay, I ordered some regular mayo to go with my chicken. I found it okay, though I wish the rice serving was a bit bigger since I ran out of rice but I still had some chicken left.

I always go for honey citrus wings at Bonchon. And to keep any chances of umay at bay, I always order regular mayo to go with my chicken.

As always, crispy skin, generously coated chicken. A bit too oily for liking but there are times when Bonchon gets it right so I guess it's just that day. Fast service, the place is kept clean so no complaints from me 128516

Went to UP Towncenter last Saturday with fam. There's a lot to explore with their new wing building , more restaurants and shops coming soon.

At the ground floor we end up lunch at Bonchon. We bought Crispy Fish in a Box and Chicken also. Price is around 150 pesos with iced tea. Loved their soy garlic flavor in their chicken then chapchae of course.

The place was nice and what's good is that they accept credit card already 128077128179
