I'm back here at Bono Gelato to try out their Taho flavor! 128523 It's their flavor of the month for April, so it has a discounted price of Php 80 only (a regular priced single scoop costs Php 130).

It's as legit as it can get, with the gelato tasting like the actual soy bean curd sold in the streets by manong. It is then topped with syrup and tapioca pearls, a classic way to enjoy this Filipino street food favorite! 128525 I feel like I bought this from a sosyal manong magtataho. 128586

While we were there, I even overheard someone ask the staff if they have hot taho! 128513128514 LOL.

Service was great, as usual! 128522 I'll come back again on May for their flavor of the month! 128523

BONO Gelato's Taho flavor is my favorite. They can feature new flavors every month, every week, every day, but I'll always choose Taho. 128156

Since we believe that there is always room for dessert, we went to Bono for our after-lunch sweet treat! 128525

Bono Gelato has a variety of gelato flavors you can choose from. These range from the classic vanilla, to the Filipino breakfast / snack favorite, Taho! However, what caught my eye was the gelato cookie. 128156 They have 3 flavors for this: Vanilla, Salted Caramel, and Milo Dinosaur (which I believe is also one of their best selling gelato flavors).

I got the Milo Dinosaur gelato cookie, while Josh chose the Salted Caramel one. The Milo gelato was so rich and creamy, each bite was a delight! The salted caramel gelato was too salty for me, though. However, Josh and I both agreed on one thing: THE COOKIE WAS SUPER DELICIOUS! It was very crunchy, and it was crumbly and with the right hint of saltiness (credit these inputs to Josh), which matched well with the creamy texture and sweetness of the gelato. The serving size was also just right and quite sulit for its price (it is Php 95 per sandwich).

It's something I would recommend, and would come back for! I super love their gelato 127846Though I wish they would have trash bins in the dining area, so guests are able to leave their tables clean as they go, ready for the next customers. (I hate seeing tables with lots of empty cups, tissues, etc. - This cost them -1 11088 in my rating). Dining area is limited as the tables and chairs are placed outside the store, but I think it is enough for a dessert place since people usually order their gelato to-go, or they don't stay that long if ever the choose to dine-in.

Pro-tip: Their gelato scoops range from Php 130 - 150 per scoop, but you can catch their flavor of the month, for only Php 80 a scoop! Sulit, right? 128525

It's been a while since I had a scoop of my favorite gelato so I was excited specially when I saw they are offering my favorite flavor which is ube! The taste however is not what I expected. I was thinking it will be the same with the ube in their mango ube symphony flavor. Something was off.

It sure is velvety but it didn't have the good shepherd ube taste or the affordable purple yams being sold along the highway of San Pablo, Laguna. I guess I just have to avoid this flavor and stick to salted caramel and mango ube symphony.

Just before January ends I decided to try Bono's scoop of the month - UBE!!! Since I loved their Mango Ube Symphony, I hoped that this one will be knockout too!

Right after our food binge in Osaka Ohsho, we decided to walk around Mega. "Pampa baba ng kinain" you know. But our walk came to an halt as we passed by Bono 128514 Jairus d and I got 1 scoop each of Ube.

It was good but we found it a little lacking in strong Ube taste. Though it captured the flavor, it was very weak. I suddenly tried to remember the Ube part of their Mango Ube Symphony.

Anyhow, as expected, the gelato base was thick and smooth. Not bad at all. Maybe I was just used to the Good Shepherd Baguio Ube 128514

Bono is one of our go-to places in Mega Fashion Hall while waiting for the surge of Grab/Uber to go down. At first, I didn’t want to dine in Bono because the chairs looked a little uncomfortable but I was wrong. I’ve been having back problems lately so this is sorta an issue. I liked the big chairs especially those with back rests.

I ordered one scoop of Milo Dinosaur in a cup. It was sweet and the Milo powder on top just helped in elevating the flavor. I also liked how each scoop in Bono comes with a waffle on top. I thought this was only a promo before but it looks like they’ve retained it.

Always get the Scoop of the Month for only 80pesos. New flavors featured for a discount. This month's flacor is the movie time scoop which has malteser chocolate malt ball pieces, potato chips and popcorn I think. On a vanilla ice cream base. I love it here. Nice was to kill time or juat people watch.

Finally decided to try BONO Gelato at the Mega Fashion Hall. I chose:

127846"Build Your Own Brownie Sundae" (₱200) 110881108811088 - Brownie, S'mores gelato, pretzel crumbs and caramel syrup

9749 Cafe Americano (₱110) 110881108811088

The gelato was OK, nothing special or extraordinary. Perhaps I could have chosen a more unique flavor (alas, their famous Taho gelato was not available). In my opinion, it had the same consistency of any other ice cream, I couldn't find the denseness as I expected from a gelato (or there was anything wrong with my palate I guess). But I thought I made a good combo because of the pretzel whose slight saltiness cut the overall sweetness of the entire dessert.

I loved the brownie -- it was soft but dense, and not too sweet. I thought the dessert was worth the ₱200 price tag because you'll really feel full after eating only a few spoonfuls. The brownie was quite heavy!

The Cafe Americano was just OK too. Bitter as it should be.

I have always wanted to try this one out. I've been hearing news how good and creamy their gelatos are. Tried their bestselling S'mores, and boy was it GOOD. 128523 If only I wasn't that full, I could've tried a different scoop. The gelato was creamy. They rightly infused the S'mores flavor in every bite. It had those marshmallows, chocolate and graham that stayed true to its flavor. The waffle crisp was really a nice touch too. Now...time to try other flavors. 128540

Always been a fan of this gelato ever since the first time I tasted it then. Been bugged by the Taho flavor craze in Looloo so I had to try it for myself! Loved the originality. You can really taste the taho flavor! As a kid, I really loved taho so I'm super thrilled to experience it now as my favorite gelato. 10084

While killing time after my DFA passport renewal appointment, I had this sweet treat at BONO. This is their Brownie Sundae. This is in build-your-own style. The formula is:

1 scoop of their gelato (signature or premium flavor) + 2 toppings + 2 sauces + 1 ultimate brownie = sweetness and happiness overload.

Me? I chose salted caramel gelato with crushed pretzels and chocolate powder as toppings. I also included chocolate and caramel sauces. Really good! The brownie was super moist! The gelato was good as well.

P.S. Currently, their flavor of the month is the Milo Dinosaur. I heard from a friend that this is yummy as well! 128541

My friends opted for some parfait at St Marc Cafe. I promised to stay away for those for a while since I drowned in matcha parfaits in my most recent trip. 128517 So, I thought of some other dessert place in the area where I can have some takeout. Bono Gelato was just across St Marc's so I went for some gelato.

Curious about how their taho gelato tastes like so I asked for a free taste. It was good and tasted like taho really but I thought I won't enjoy getting a scoop of just that, so I tried their other flavors. Mango Ube Symphony, okay but not in the mood for that. Their new salted caramel gelato was also good but found it too sweet, so nope. I was looking for the Cereal Milk but it's no longer available. 128542 Last, I got the Butterbeer gelato and liked it. Not too sweet with the butter-y and creamy mix. I settled for this.

A scoop for around 150 bucks is a pricey ball of ice cream. But since Bono Gelato is famous and awarded for their quality gelato, once in a while spending on their products is an okay, but if you ask me, I'll go for Manila Creamery for their cheaper scoops and more choices of their homemade gelatos with local flavors.

Bono's scoop has always came with a thin crispy strip of belgian waffle that is sweet. Haha, so sweet biscuit on sweet gelato....sugar overload!

Chaotic Sunday at Mega Fashion Hall.  Where did all these people cone from?

Anyway,  he wants some milk and cookies but we were too lazy to walk to Podium.  Then i saw a vacant table at Bono.  Gelato it is.  He remembered my Taho review and he said he wanted to try it.

Taho for the gentleman and Strawberry for the lady.

He was all smiles after the first spoonful.  I on the other hand was happy with my choice.  Very light flavored gelato,  tastes like summer.   One thing that i like about Bono is their consistency ,  i have never had a bad gelato experience with 'em.  Went to different branches and i still get the same creamy,  smooth and delicious gelato every single time.

I've tried Bono's Pistachio and Cereal & Milk flavors before but I just found them ok. The other day, I read about their Taho gelato and I got really intrigued. How can they do that, right?

So then on my way home I went to get one & luckily it was available. Lately I've seen some posts where it was out of stock. I got the small one, priced at P80.

First off, it looked really good presentation-wise. Came out exactly like how taho is usually presented with the tapioca on top and the coco syrup, ang galing 128077🏼 Then, I thought it tasted a bit sweet. But a few spoonfuls later and it got better, light & refreshing. The tapioca balls were the perfect size, the coco syrup not too sweet.

Quite an interesting experience, I must say. Good one, Bono! Here's to more inventive flavors in the future 127846128523

Two for one on any flavour if you're a globe subscriber! Just show them the text from globe.

I just had BLK half an hour before this, so i chose a flavour that isnt "too sweet". Totally forgot about the taho and ordered pistachio instead. It was good, but i think id stick with my butterbeer next time 127846
