Their "thick soup of crab and corn" was more milk(?) and corn starch. Hakaw was small and depressing. Chow King has better value.

I have not tried Chinese Pork Buns other than Tim Ho Wan's and I seriously like them. So good that I can eat three pieces in no time. Then my friend told me about Boon Tong Kee. She said that they've got pork buns that are better than Tim Ho Wan's. So I was thrilled. Because I'm really happy about my Tim Ho Wan pork buns. Yah know.

Fast forward to recently, we were in MOA. While looking for a store, we passed by Boon Tong Kee and saw their pork buns displayed! I remembered my friend and so I didn't think twice anymore and got 2 orders!

These buns are cheaper than Tim Ho Wan's. At 105Php per order of 3, they were warm and soft. They're actually good! The buns had more sweet crumbs on top which made them very messy to eat. The filling was quite good - sweet and salty sauce with chunks of meat. The bottom of the bun though was a little thicker than I have expected. It wasn't tough but wasn't as soft as well. There was also this umay factor - probably because of the sweet crumbs.

Sarry, will still go for Tim Ho Wan's.

What's your favorite pork bun? 128521

Sorry i never take a picture of the food.

Boon Tong Kee, Famous Chicken Rice from Singapore, that is what I always remember when I heard the name.

It's Sunday Morning and my and my other half were very hungry and planning to eat Japanese food, however because it's too early (10:00am) most restaurant still close and we saw Boon Tong Kee and suddenly we are craving of chicken rice, so we saw this restaurant and we nostalgic about Singapore Food and how we miss them. Plus the signboard written each set meal with price that very affordable. So we thought we could save some money by eating chicken rice.

So we enter the restaurant & happily to see the menus. However the menu are different with the signboard, I asked, "can you give us menu that display on the signboard?" And the waitress mentioned that it's not available on weekend & so alright it's fine, i can understand. So we thinking, hmm so we eat here will equally same like eat Japanese Restaurant & since we miss Singaporean Food too, so ok we fine and go on to order

So We ordered,
Quarter Roasted Chicken
Chicken Rice (yes it's not included when you order a chicken)
No soup come with it (ok it's weird)
Siew May
Sausage Bun
Barley
Wontoon Mee
Spinach with mixed egg

So first come the Barley, there is a little bit taste of oily glass smell on the Barley, and it's really not taste good.

Then next come the chicken rice & the chicken, when I saw it, it looks like not roasted! It's fried! So i taste it and it's really fried!! Not roasted! So i suspect it's leftover chicken from the day before and to maintain the taste they fried it! Which actually no taste of juicy roast chicken, not even the same with Singaporean Boon Tong Kee 's Chicken Rice.

It's totally Fried Chicken!!!! Not even Roast chicken.

Then the Rice!!! I'm expecting soft fragrance chicken rice, but it feels like leftover overnight rice from the day before, so hard and cold, boon tong kee Manila you better serve fried rice with chicken flavour with it, not chicken rice!

Then come the Spinach with Mixed Egg, i no comments about it, it's just too hard for some stem of the spinach.

The siew may and sausage bun also serve in cold.

Lastly the wontoon mee, ok at least the noodle not that bad just the soup of the noodle, it's not even boiled with chicken, it's basically chicken stocks plus water.

To boon Tong kee Singapore if you see this, please ensure the quality of your branch overseas, this is way tooooooo far the quality compared to your main branch.. Way too far...

So to the readers, if you are craving chicken rice, go to other store at Alabang Town Centre, i forgot the name, but it's branch from Singapore too and it's way more nicer than this Boon Tong Kee (MOA)

I better wait for Jap restaurant to open than eat here when the price that i spend it's the same and it's really make me feel i eating a trash. Sorry for my harsh words but it's really make me very dissapointed.

My wife was craving for Chinese food at that time so we saw this restaurant. First thing we saw outside was they were offering pork buns. This is a restaurant with a mixture of Chinese/Singaporean/Cantonese (reminds me of Wee Nam Kee)

The place looks cozy but needs better spacing with all the stuffs inside. The place was clean, and not too crowded, but the downside for me was it was kinda hot inside. They were using 2 fans, I think their AC was broken at that time.

Now for the food, we ordered the following:
* Baked pork buns (P30/pc but a minimum of 3 orders)
* Hakaw
* Quarter signature boiled chicken
* Chicken rice
* Crispy cereal prawns regular

The pork buns were literally disappointing. I only wanted to try 1 piece of pork bun but we were informed that it was a minimum of 3 per order. Okay fine no problem because I was craving for pork buns we ordered 3. The buns looked good from the outside but then came, it was warm not freshly cooked, burnt so bad I had to take a photo & was 70% air. So this one is a BIG NO!

Now comes the hakaw, kinda weird looking thing with the shell still intact. This was the first time I saw a Hakaw with a shell...but fine maybe it's a Cantonese/Singaporean Hakaw (who knows?)

Okay so for the main dish we had their signature dish the boiled chicken which I really liked and I matched it with the chicken rice and the Crispy cereal prawns (it reminds me of Singapore). For me these 3 dishes is a MUST TRY! The prawns were huge :)

We had their signature crispy roasted chicken, sweet and sour fish, cereal prawn, prawn and tufo claypot.

The only good food we ordered here is the Cereal Prawn. It is not too oily and seasoned well. The rest are disappointing.

The roasted chicken is dry and bland, sweet and sour fish, which by the way they claim as their best seller is ordinary and lack of sauce. The worst sweet and sour fish i have ever tasted. The Prawn And tufo clay pot is a flop... Tasteless and has only 3 prawns and 5 tufo in it.

The servings are small. It is a little pricey. Overall, I am very disappointed with the quality of the food. I wont be dinning here again.

I wanted to eat at Modern Shanghai earlier but I passed by Boon Tong Kee and saw that it was a Singaporean Restaurant. I decided to set aside Modern Shanghai for now to try this place but sometimes, making the worst decision is just inevitable. Shit happens 128565

I got their Pork Buns to start. The buns were not generously filled with pork so it basically did not impress me. Ang layo sa Tuan Tuan especially Tim Ho Wan.

Had their roast chicken and boiled chicken. I enjoyed the latter but their roast chicken was too dry and chewy.

I had some Cereal Prawns as well. Flavor, yes it was delicious but they can work more on how they cooked the prawn. It was as dry as their roast chicken.

I partnered everything with sambal rice which I thought waa delicious.

The food was okay, bearable but the service was the worst. Follow ups, Manager not knowing what to do as he's busy chatting with his staff.

My Singaporean bun looked and tasted like burnt cream puff. The service was slow considering it was past lunch time (around 3pm). Pickles not nicely stacked. The soup came late :(

We loved this place mainly because of the generous servings. We headed to this place right after a 10k run so you can imagine the huge appetite we worked up.

We ordered the roast chicken, sweet and sour fish fillet, century egg with pechay, coffee pork ribs and some sort of fried roll I forgot what it's called.

Two thumbs up! 128077128077

For a Singaporean restaurant, their laksa was a huge letdown. I expected more. The flavor was flat and lifeless! However, I really loved their cereal prawns--big prawns, big flavors! Their crispy tofu was also a welcome surprise! We also ordered the matcha creme brulee. It was all that and more! I won't order the laksa again, but I'd go back for their prawns and dessert!

I went to Boon Tong Kee to have dinner. I ordered Hainanese chicken and Chicken rice. Both are delicious. I got a complimentary soup and appetizer. The soup and the appetizer is delicious and I like it. The place is quiet. The service is great and fast.

My Boon Tong Kee experience did not only make my tummy smile because of how delicious their offerings

🔸Signature Boiled Chicken (Quarter - Php 245)
The chicken came in minutes withI enjoy going to Brickfire because I know I'd get protein-packed meals which perfectly fit my budget coupled with a cozy ambiance.

🔹Chicken Rice (Php 65)
was served in pyramid form which was quite cute. In terms of taste, the rice was alright, great pair for the chicken.

🔸Sago Gula Melaka (Php 145)
Sago and plam sugar syrup with some ice cream, sweet but worth the calories. Be sure to dig down with your spoon since the sago are in the bottom. Make sure you order this sweet and irresistible BOON TONG KEE specialty when you visit.

But seriously… If you’re looking for a place that serves wonderful food in good portions without the bloat that comes after a good, then you just have to try out BOON TONG KEE. 9786

Poached Chinese Spinach in Superior Stock
I enjoyed this, it's very flavorful. The salted egg perfectly balances the more neutral broth. Spinach is slightly overcooked, but since it's in soup, it's barely noticeable and still quite delicious. Serving size is good for 3-4 people.

Chicken with Chicken Rice (sold separately)
I love it when my rice has a bit of "tutong" to it, so I enjoyed eating their version. The white chicken was slightly bland in places where it wasn't covered with the sauce. It still tasted decent though, very similar to the ones I've had at authentic Chinese restaurants. The chicken rice is served in a pyramid shape, good for 1 person. Chicken is good for 2-3 people.

Cereal Prawns
The floss combined with the tiger prawns and cereal coating added flavor and texture, making it interesting to eat. The outside layer was a bit sweet, which balanced the altogether savory flavor of the shrimps. Serving size is good for 4-6 people if you order their 6 piece serving, as the shrimps are pretty large in size.

Sago Gula Melaka with Vanilla Ice Cream
I loved this dish, very simple but it made quite an impact on me! It really lacked ice cream and the "gula melaka" part, though. Mix it well in order to incorporate each element into a delicious dessert, because otherwise the sago bits stick to each other and don't absorb the "sauce" well. This then ends up making it taste bland. Servings are good for two people, as each order is served in 2 individual cups with the cutest twisted metal dessert spoons.

Great service! It was cold in the area we were directed to, so our server immediately volunteered to turn the aircon off nearby. Our teapot was immediately refilled whenever we emptied it, and the servers stood by at a respectful distance so whenever we needed to call them it wasn't a hassle at all. Serving time is decent, as we were able to eat before long. Love the simple and understated decor, complete with comfortable seats. The utensils and plates were all quite clean, making me a happy camper indeed!

Service was fast and good, because we are the only customer they have that time. Serving were huge and generous. Food are flavourly tasty, maybe on the side of saltiness, but tolerable for me. 128515

The poached chinese spinach with assorted egg is very good. Their cereal prawn are so so, maybe they should rename to pork flakes prawn, because i didn't see the cereals eheheh 128538

Overall it was a good experiance.

I love the crispy roast chicken! It's great to have it with their chicken rice. If you want to have vegetables with it, try the chinese spinach with assorted eggs! Must try! Next time, I want to try the cereal prawns when we eat here again since it's included in their recommended dishes.
