Tagaytay is and has always been a nearby destination for almost all of who live in Manila. It's a place where we can refresh and stay away from the busy streets of the metro. Being very accessible, Tagaytay can get crowded real quick especially on a holiday, or even on a weekend and it sometimes ruins the "Tagaytay Feels"...unless you own a private property there.
In reality, not all of us are too rich to own a house in Tagaytay or even know someone who has a "bahay bakasyunan" in Tagaytay. Thankfully we found this house for rent at airbnb for 10k/night* which is located at Tagaytay Farm Hills - a village that you always pass by going up to Tagaytay if you travel via Tagaytay - Sta. Rosa road. This house was, by the looks of it, built for people who wants to have a taste of how it feels like to live on a peaceful subdivision of Tagaytay.
The first level is the garage, but it's occupied by a billiards table, some high tables and chairs plus a dart set. In other words, you won't be able to park inside, but hey! At least you have extra recreational activities to do on your stay! Besides, you can park in front of the house. 🏼
The second level is where the common area is. There's a table in the middle with a few pineapples on display (which is free for you to eat btw). Then of course you have a TV with a karaoke system for those who love to sing! There are two bedrooms w/ aircon, each having it's own bathrooms with heated showers. Each bedroom has one main bed (not sure if it's a full size or a queen size bed, but 2 people can fit comfortably) and 4 extra mattresses. According to the ad on airbnb, the house is ideal for 10 persons. Moving on to the rest of the floor is the outdoor pool with whirlpool (not heated), grilling area and a kitchen. If you wish to grill, I suggest to bring a steel brush to clean the grill or just wrap it in aluminum foil because it's kinda rusty - I hope they could change it and better maintain it. If you plan to cook (which i don't recommend since we tried it and it was very tiring), you will need to buy your own condiments and seasonings. Cookware, gas tank, refrigerator, plates and utensils are provided, although I recommend bringing disposable utensils to lessen the cleaning. One more thing to note is that some mosquitos may occasionally be present at the kitchen area, but bug zappers are also provided so be sure to use them.
The third level is the roof deck. Perfect for top view shots for the swimming pool and also for stargazing at night. Just bring the mattress to the top and you're set!
Overall, me and my friends enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely come back. Maybe next time, just order food from outside to enjoy the place more. :p It's sort of a different experience since you know you're not checked in at a hotel, but you're spending the night at a house in Tagaytay. I would recommend this place for family staycations or small gatherings like what me and my friends did during #TheEpicAPECBreak
And oh, for one the most commonly asked questions, is there wifi? Unfortunately, they don't, but Smart has a pretty decent LTE signal compared to Globe on that location. You can get to know more details of what they offer by searching it on airbnb.
*One more useful tip: The price may vary on the website, so it's best to contact Agnes (The Host) directly if you could get a better rate before booking the house.
