1st heard of Boy Shawarma from my friend who grew up in Saudi. She told me that a family friend opened a authentic shawarma place in Manila area and its nothing like all the shawarma that we've been eating. Then Kevinross B told us in one of the |ooloorendevooz that Boy Shawarma is the best shawarma that he had tried in manila. Now thats two great recommendation.

Finally was in the manila area and I took the opportunity to drop by Boy Shawarma. The place is a walk away from DLSU/CSB. It was not a neat looking place but typical foodjoint looking near universities.

I tried out their Chicken Shawarma as recommneded by my friend. Their shawarma is based on the authentic shawarma copied from what the owner (Tito Al) have tasted in Saudi. Their version isn't loaded with veggies in it. Inside the wrap is frenchfries, pickles and grilled slice chicken with good serving of their white delicious garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is their game changer it was so good. We should have more of this kind of shawarma.

While eating we also got to hear some business advise from Tito Al. Its always great to hear story and advise from businessman on how they started and how to make it big.

Overall for me this is the best shawarma I've tasted. I'll be looking forward on their makati branch that will soon open. It will definitely a blockbuster. 9786

my friend was actually the one who introduced this place to me, he said that among all the shawarma houses that he tried, it was the only place the serves the most legit arabian food in metro.. (he stayed in abu dhabi for almost 6 years) And yes! it's really tasty! I love how the garlic-ky flavor of the sauce and it was really big! I enjoyed the food too much to forget to take a photo 128517128517 #foodtrails

Random suggestion by a Grab driver that we decided to try out since it's nearby. I remember him saying that it was a near authentic shawarma as the owner used to reside in UAE. Not the typical shawarma, a different variant I guess. Beef, fries, pickles and garlic sauce; no lettuce, onions or tomatoes. It was good but at some point you tend to look for something to zest up the flavor. No air conditioning too when we visited which made it feel like eating in a warehouse.

Apparently,my brother has been looking for kabsa and broasted chicken. So when he found this place through surfing the net, despite how far it was from our place (Cainta!), we braved the travel, the traffic and the trantums of me and my nephew 128513 yes, my trantums.

The place isn't much and is tucked in a building with a milk tea shop beside it. One of the servers has dirty fingernails (from mixing the rice?). My family isn't so sensitive about that and we were starving!! But let me tell you about the food...

We ordered kabsa with a whole chicken and a broasted chicken meal for the kid. This disappeared before I could take a picture. We gobbled it up AND ordered extra rice for everyone. The broasted chicken for my nephew was awesome. So we ordered that for everyone too..

Three meals. I ate three meals at this place. If you havent eaten kabsa yet, then you might not like it. But if you've been from KSA, OFW kid? You'd love the stuff here.

We're going back to order for ten people and sit in luneta park to enjoy the food there next weekend 128536128077🏼128526128523

Coming back for more means that it's really good right? 128513 This is where I get my Shawarma cravings satisfied.

As it says on the picture, "It may not be the usual, but it's the original." Well I kinda have to disagree with that statement, BUT it is the closest to the original. Here's why:

1. Pita bread is not authentic, but fair enough. 128527
2. Authentic shawarmas DO have onions, just not chopped into small cubes. It's supposed to be more like shredded strips and then mixed with parsley. 128533
3. They got the pickles, fries and chicken quite right. 128079
4. Lastly, one key ingredient to your authentic shawarma is the Garlic sauce and the guys here did it well! 128079

One other thing that I have to give them is, they still accepted our orders even it was closing time for them last night. Hooray for last minute orders! 9786

I was born in the middle east and i know authentic shawarma. This, so far has the closest tasting authentic shawarma out there. Their garlic sauce is homemade (not the watery one). One weird thing is that they claim that the authentic shawarma does not contain any other vegetable than pickles. I wish they had thinly sliced onions and herbs. Basically their shawarma contains chicken/beef, fries, sliced pickles and garlic sauce.

Their khabsa taste great! Salsa was also close to authentic, but the rice they used was not good. I wish they used basmati rice instead.

Broasted chicken was not good for me, the taste of the chicken was more like burnt/over used oil.

Sometimes the the service is really sloooow. But sometimes the serving time is just about right.

If it's your first time to try it here, I would recommend ordering chicken shawarma 128077
