Really good Latin American food here. They're located a few steps away from the mall's cinema. Good that it was not so crowded when I visited. 128077🏻

Carne Asada Platter consists of grilled beef sirloin, south american slaw, spanish rice, and their chimichuri sauce. It was good and I liked it. The meat was cooked nicely, the usual beef chewy-ness (texture), not so hard like rubber and not too soft naman. Just enough to keep your jaw busy. 128540 Each bite was really tasty, shows how well they've marinated the meat. 128077🏻 They have a generous serving of Spanish rice. I was so full after munching all the food. The south american slaw was okay. Sour and sweet taste from the dressing to distract you from the savory beef. Priced at 255php, i liked it and will come back to try more. 128516

Puerco Asado - P240

Slow-roasted pork belly with super crunchy skin with Yellow Rice instead of Rice and Beans - since it's not available that moment.

New to me. Tender pork. Love the Chimichuri sauce!

Not sure if it's because its a small branch but the food isn't as good as the one I had in SM Jazz. Ordered a Carne Asada Platter, Brassas Street Burger, and Carne Asada Fries.

The beef in my platter was tender, the rice isn't anything special. The slaw on the side wasn't enough, and the patacones was a single chip about half the size of a Pringles piece. You'd think that with a local abundance of cooking plantains the restaurant would be more generous with it. This could easily be shared by two people.

My friend had the burger and said it was okay, nothing bad but nothing special either. The caramelized onions and roasted bell peppers were minimal, shame because it could have boosted the flavor profile of the burger.

Their single serving of Asada fries can be shared if you have heavy meals to go with it. The cheese and the meat toppings leant extra flavor to your run of the mill potatoes.

We washed everything down with Latin iced tea, there is nothing special with this either and I'm happy to share that it is at least brewed and not a powder mix.

The total bill for the entire meal is 800php. I find it a bit steep for something that doesn't have enough WOW factor in it.

If I were to recommend anything it would be their wraps which I had the first time I tried the restaurant.

Julie J's review reminded me of my backlogs... My cousin and I found ourselves in SM North last week... He asked me which restaurant was good around the area and I suggested Brasas... It's been a long time since I visited any of their branches and I was in the mood for something different...

My cousin was overwhelmed by the new menu... Told him anything with carne asada is good!128513 he ordered the carne asada wrap which was gone in an instant... No need to ask if he liked it...128540

We also shared a platter of the patacones... It was my first time to try these treats, made of fried plantain chips as a base with pico de gallo, pulled pork and Monterey Jack Cheese... The base did not taste like plantains at all! This is a very delicious dish, a must try appetizer!

I got the Ensalada Dela Casa with carne asada on top and the lime cilantro dressing... I liked the fresh taste of the dressing... The salad was heavy enough to stand alone as a meal in itself... Great for moments when you don't feel like eating much...

My cousin tried the guarapo, which he liked... I stuck with their house blend iced tea, which I like... Made from scratch!128077

Brasas remains to be one of those reliable restaurants for a good meal without sacrificing the quality! Like, like, like!128076

The highlight of this visit is their Carne Asada Fries. It was so good that I almost finished it all. The fries wasn't too soggy, I loved the gooey mozzarella on top, and their beef, I died, it was sooo good and really tasty! I didn't quite enjoy my smoked pulled pork sandwich. The kaizer bun was too big and dry that I can't taste the pork anymore. I ended up not eating the top bun. Taste wise, it's still good. But definitely not going to order this next time.

What should I try next?

I was really sad about the amount of their servings... Really small unlike before. *sigh*

I was always telling my bf how good their food was and how big their servings, that he'll be happy to eat here and then, I think I just ate my words. Hahaha 128557128078

I liked this Patacones though. 128522

Ordered the Carne Asada Platter and as usual, I devoured the meal before i could even take a picture. All i could say that it was great! Latin American cuisine is new to my tastebuds so yahhh. Ohh and the Patacones are good too! They're like chips, (plantain chips, they call it) and then there's slow roasted pork on top with some cheese (i cant remember what kind) and another ingredient that i cant recall. It was yum yum 128513 hehe this resto is great.

If only the employees were more.. Welcoming.

Brasas : Latin American Street Food

First time to dine in this restaurant. The place is relatively new in SM The Block.

I ordered Carne Asada Wrap (in the picture) and my mom ordered Carna Asada Platter with Latin Iced Tea.

The Carne Asada Wrap was cooked crunchy on every bite and the tortill wrap does not break easily. Portion are okay for its price of Php290 for the wrap and Php250 for the platter. The charcoal-grilled sirloin tastes really freshly grilled. The sauteed onions and roasted bell peppers complement the meat. Good to improve though was the quality of meat or the preparation. It was cooked medium-well to well-done but I expected juicier and softer meat.

Latin iced tea is passion fruit tea with mint and lome. The lime is kind of strong masking the mint taste, a little overpriced at Php 80. Ambience is good as well as the music playlist of choice.

Before the arrival of current foodie favorites, El Chupacabra and Señor Pollo, Brasas was already dishing out delicious Latin American fare in Manila. The quality and taste of their food has remained consistent through the years. (Can't get enough of those fried plantains!) And the best part is, there are no long lines!

Carne Asada Fries. P120.00

It's a Latin American street food. And yeah, so meaty, cheesy and so flavorful.

Ate here after watching "Chef", a movie about a a chef with a food truck who sold cuban sandwiches, soo close enough. Haha. I lived in San Diego for some time so I loved everything made from carne asada, so I had to try these.

Carne asada platter: Okay lang, hindi sobrang sarap. Beef sirloin over rice with "chimichuri" sauce, a green, vinegar based sauce with cilantro, so you get that distinct sour, cilantro flavor. Di ako mahilig sa vinegar so no thanks. Nothing special with the beef pero okay din. Medyo di worth it para sa price.128078

Carne asada fries: I've been searching for carne asada fries in the Philippines and I had to try this one out. Unfortunately ang layo sa lasa ng original from San Diego (and I had a lot back then). Kala ko carne asada strips on fries pero parang giniling lang. Maybe I was expecting sour cream, guacamole, salsa and lots of cheese. Pwede na sa price nya.128076

Carne asada wrap: Carne asada with bellpeppers and onions, wrapped in pita. Di ko alam bakit sobrang bland ng lasa nito even with the dip. Nakalimutan yung spices? I don't know. Pero malaki naman serving okay din, kaso sobrang oily.

TLDR: Hindi worth it Carne Asada sa Brasas.

Been wanting to try this restaurant. Good thing my bf allowed me to shop at f21 before we watch a movie in trinoma. 128522

I forgot the name of this dish but i like it. The wrap is loaded with beef. Yum yum! 128516 The only downside is this dish is too oily.
