When i first arrived in the city last year, the buzz about this restaurant from friends and relatives left me wondering what is the hype all about. Each night I passed by, the place always is packed with guests. Since it is quite crowded at night time, the possibility of a slow service is bound to happen. And based on what other reviewers have posted or blogged, the service indeed was slow. 🙄

Fortunately on the day i came over for lunch on a Friday with a couple, we had the place all to ourselves, the waiter assigned to us knew quite well the menu, describing each dish, the service wasn't slow, it was lean time so 127775127775127775

We ordered:
10084️ Beef Salpicao -- the beef was tender, and the sauce was good (300php)

10084️ Braised Beef Pot Roast -- nomnom 128149

10084️ Mint Condition Juices -- very refreshing and healthy 128077🏻

Despite the multiple review how bad their service is and how their fb page reflect rants on roaches found in customers food.
We did had our quiet and smooth dinner here. Friend from Hong Kong is here for the Sinulog weekend and spent the night to catch up. Everything went fine, service was good took 20 to 25 mins for food to arrive (took me that long to arrive too haha) I love their salad, the bolognese is so so, had lemon something drink I forgot the combination, just to say their service water is awful.
It's a good dine, will come back and try the Angus and Steak 128513

Why would others like this place? I mean.. why not?
The food, interior, etc.. everything's perfect! I have to admit I've been patiently waiting to dine in this restaurant for several months and when I went to Cebu for vacation.... Well, I never missed the chance to eat, dine and chat with my big sis in this classy and on point resto.

S'mores fudge, delicious!
Salmon, perfect!
Steak, mouth-watering!
Iced tea, thirst-quenching!

In short, I love everything about Brique and so does my sister! 10084

Despite the many negative reviews and complaints of their service, I still enjoyed my meal here. 128522

For those who enjoys eating kimchi, here's a twist of Korea's must have side dishes. Bulgogi Grilled Sandwich. 128522 The taste is really interesting and it is another taste one could try. I really enjoyed the twist of this sandwich. 128077🏻

The waiter who took our orders was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was very helpful when it came to deciding what to eat. Too bad, he wasn't wearing a badge. A 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻 for you Mr. Waiter! 128522

There were 2 tables available, 1 is good for 2 which is located in the middle of the restaurant and the other table good for 4 near the the wall. Since we are only 2, i ask if we can have the table near the wall. They did not allow us because there might be a group of four people who wants to dine. When i check the table outside, it is not even occupied. I was disappointed because they would rather loose a customer than give in to a simple request which is to allow the customer to choose the table they want to seat.
I know this is a petty thing but it is actually a simple way to satisfy customers.
Btw, this is the longest review i have ever composed. I am just disapponted.

It is a good place to have lunch during the Sinulog Festival because it is the exact opposite venue from the party scene. You get the exclusive feel while getting stuffed with there. The restaurant is all yours - or at least it isn't crowded. It was a comfortable stay, the staff were at peace and not tensed. I like it. What I don't like though is their famed Truffled Potato Shoestring. If you pick one string and dip it into the thick cream sauce, it breaks easily. If you pick a handful, because the strings are twisted and curled here and there, your table manners will come to play as to whether you feed it into your mouth or not. The Mint Condition juice that was "recommended" by one of the staff didn't compliment either. It was unpleasantly bitter that I had to request for a sweetener - a sugar syrup - to make it more potable. She must've assumed that I am a vegan to bravely recommend that drink made of spinach and celery. The main course was okay. We had Drunken Angus and Fish Provencal. Nothing really special but it was satisfying. The famed Fudged Smores was perhaps the only way to properly end the meal. It was delicious. I love how the marshmallows melt on top and then dig into the thick brownie bottom. I can totally appreciate pricey but delicious, flavorful meals but in this case, I think I'll pass.

Brique is a new restaurant in Cebu City with a very rustic flavor. The whole concept from interiors to the menu and the ambiance really reminds me of Kettle in Manila.

Their must-try menu items are the Shoe String Potatoes for starters and the Southern Fried Chicken. Both items were typically the same chef's recommendations on Kettle's menu. It's just that their pricing is very appropriate with Cebuano cost of living.

Taste-wise, the food's good but not as good as Kettle's. Of course, that's my benchmark now. 128522 What stood out on their menu for me was the Drunken Angus. It was divine! Tender and juicy, it was delicious and can even be eaten with a spoon.

Their desserts were good too. In an inflight magazine, I read about this place and they mentioned that their Halo-halo Cake was great. When we got there though it was nowhere in their menu. Apparently it was a slow moving item in spite of the praises. Hence they had to take it out. We ended up getting their Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake which was steady ok. Their Tres Leches Cheese Cake definitely takes the crown for the night! It had just the right amount of sweetness, and creamy milky goodness! I kept on closing my eyes while making "Hmmmmmmmmm" sounds every bite. My friend was the same. If you didn't see us eating you'd think of a different image! Hahaha 128514128514128514

All in all, I'd definitely come back to this joint! I wanna try their Lechon Sandwhich and the Smores dessert! This place will definitely gain more popularity and I am so happy it's very accessible in the heart of the city! 10084️10084️10084️

Yup. Visited Brique twice in a day. Hahahahahahahahahahaha patawarin!

This time, with my beloved friends from college plus the boyf. We got:
-Brique chops (on the photo)
-Fish and chips
-Fish provencal (on the photo)
-Asuete Ginger Chicken
And their recommended food:
-Southern fried chicken
-Truffled shoestring potatoes

You guys!! You must try the recommended food for real! The shoestring potatoes is addictive! This is the crowds' fave, I can just tell. :)
I had the fish provencal. It was superb! For the healthy buffs out there, this is for you! I think i can choose this over the beef one we had at lunch.
The southern fried chicken was really good too. I can't describe how good it was! Basta, masarap! Walang kapareho! And the fish and chips serving size was hella big. Hahahaha didn't expect that coming.

Basta guys, try nyo! As iiiiin. Masarap.
They also serve wine for sosyal nights with your bebeloves. 128540

It is very seldom that a restaurant can capture my heart. I am recommending Brique to anyone out there! Even kids can eat here and enjoy the food!

Ordered spag bolognese and penne carbonara...then a beef (wth i forgot the rest of the name)
A funny story is that the pastas were served first. Totally worth for sharing buy the boyf and I are just too greedy to share so we have to buy one for each of ourselves...that's how we roll. So, we were eating then came this man with our beef. He got confused and even checked the paper he is holding if the order was really for our table. He even asked another employee just to clarify that the beef is for us. 128514 I was there holding my laugh in front of him! Foodie problems. Hahahaha
And we even surprised him after eating when we asked for the menu again. Hahahahaha we got to have taste some of their desserts you know. We got the choco mousse in a jar.

Everything was really good! Also, for the pasta, you can choose between spaghetti or penne. :) They also serve brekky food till 5pm! Amazeballs 128588

Fudged S'mores goodness. This has easily become one of my favorite desserts. Toasted marshmallows were gooey and soft and yet had that little 'crunch'. Fudge was not too sweet. Home made Graham's were really good too! 10084️

I really really love this dessert and am already looking forward to when my tummy gets to devour this little thing I call heaven on earth again. 9786️

Second time at Brique today!

Default appetizer was the Truffled Shoestring Potatoes. Also got to try their Spanish Chorizo and Mushroom Dip, which was pretty good!

I tried the Shrimp and Spanish Chorizo in Light Sofrito pasta today and I absolutely loved it! Pasta was cooked al dente, sauce was not too heavy. There was more than substantial shrimp and Spanish chorizo too! I loved this dish and it will probably remain to be one of my favorite pasta dishes in Cebu. My sister ordered their country style fried chicken and she said it was good, but that she had better.

For dessert, I finally got to have their Fudged S'mores! Oh, that little thing is a little piece of heaven! The toasted marshmallow is pure ooey gooey goodness, and the fudge is so chocolatey-ly delicious. The graham crackers they serve it with are homemade, and delectable too! This is just the perfect balance of everything (and it's not too sweet).

Service was superb, as usual.

Cannot wait to go back!

The photo really does not justfiy my rating. I was too hungry to take better photos (my bad). I got the Braised Beef Pot Roast for P240. I had to give a 5-star rating if not for the 25 minute long wait for my order to arrive and another 15 minutes just to get the check. But this pot roast already seals the deal for me, i can forgive the wait time. But id definitely come back to try other interesting stuff from their menu. I was also amazed by the number of staff they have for a small two-storey shop. From the ground i can by estimate see roughly 10-12 crew going around. That doesnt include probably kitchen staff and if there are others at the 2nd floor. Not a usual sight to see specially in manila (for a small resto)

Truffled Shoestring Potatoes were good, and actually quite addictive. Just wished they put in more bacon!

I also ordered a Beef Bulgogi Sandwich for mains. It came with a side of crispy potato chips (which I wished were lightly salted or had some truffle oil in them). Sandwich was huge, but it had more kimchi coleslaw than beef. It still tasted good, though! Just wanted more beef (each half of the sandwich only had like 3 little slices of beef).

I would definitely try Brique out again and sample more dishes. Taste was delicious overall, ambiance and service was superb. Just wished they had "a little more" of the delicious little somethings on their dishes, for that extra oomph factor (or basically just the dishes taste even more delicious).

The place was ambrosial and spells of luxury & upscale dining. The staffs were too quick to provide us with their menu placed in a paper clip board, from starters down to wines.

Southern Fried Chicken was delicious especially if you squeeze the lime and dip it on the gravy. Brique Chops too was flavorful, a hint of herbs is hard to miss and goes well with the special sauce.

Braised Beef Pot Roast was delectable, vegetables were appetizing and the beef was just tender. But what truly made an impression on me was their Fish Fillet with Porcini Buerra Blanc, the mouthwatering salmon bathed in creamy pesto sauce was oh so delish that I greedily consume it without almost sharing. Hahaha.

And to wash the down the calories we gained on that day, we tried their mint condition which was a refreshing concoction of spinach, apple, cucumber and mint.

They also have a take out counter for their breads and other pastries to go. No one can stop me from coming back to this addicting restaurant. Hahaha.
