Beer after ramen? Why not?

We decided to drop by brotzeit for some post lunch drinks. We ordered the 3 types they had for Weihenstephan: (L-R) Hefeweissbier, Original hell, Hefeweissbier dunkel.

Original hell's pretty close to the taste of San Mig Light. A good option for those light drinkers since this has the lowest alcohol content.

Hefeweissbier is a bit sweet and a bit strong too. I'm not a good beer judge, but it was pretty good for me.

I had the Hefeweissbier dunkel, the dark wheat beer. It has that strong roasted taste which might come off as a really strong beer, but I really liked it. It went so well with the sausages we ordered with the creamy mashed potatoes and the sauerkraut. 128077čĆ╝

As for the actual place, a small complain is that the AC inside wasn't working. We're not sure why. So midway through, we requested to move outside where it was quite breezy.

Stopped by Brotzeit glorietta for a couple rounds of flavored beer and some curry wurst! The curry wurst was on point - perfectly grilled sausage topped with curry powder 128076128076128076 Went really well with the potato wedges and beer 128522

Their food is awesome here! I've never not had a good meal! Everything seems well prepared as well as the side dishes. Nothing is wasted, except maybe if you allow yourself to have one drink too many.

We were looking for xiao long bao but ended up beer drinking after passing by a poster. My friend hadn't tried it and she's very close to the branch in shangri-la. I recommended the pork and cheese sausages, she didn't touch the sauerkraut because sour wasn't in her vocabulary. But i still did get her to try it by adding the sweet mustard to balance the flavor. I even enjoyed that one.

I chose the pork medallions wrapped in bacon. P580. Since you can swap sides with other side dishes, i was thinking of swapping the fries with rice, but chose to stick with fries. Then thought about getting rice instead of the veggies and decided not to. You would think i was a flimsy decision maker BUT I was distracted by these two dudey bros. On a regular day, I would tolerate them, just not on the weekend. After ordering, we moved to a different table.

Beers were served and we each got a 300 ml glass of Weihenstephan, wheat beer. I favor wheat beer over the rest but the aftermath leaves my stomach heavy. When my order arrived, I took a photo and proceeded to inhale it. It's quite hard to inhale something this tasty. You'd want to savor the flavor. (Ha! That rhymed!) i liked that the pork medallions weren't dry but it was leaning towards that. My favorite part was when i got to slicing the meat, the bacon wrapped around it NEVER FELL OFF! It's like it was glued to the meat! Excellent! Fries were spot on and the veggies were magnificent! They were cooked and salted and buttered right. Usually, no one pays attention to the sidings, but this dish is worth your money because you can finish off the sides. I'm running out of stuff to try as I am left with the option to order pork knuckles. My fear is that i might be able to finish it on my own! 128533

Definitely coming back! We were there early so there was no dj.

The food is good here!! Aaaand the roster of drinks wide and uncomplicated.

It was a very late dinner for us that I was sooo looking forward to my food. The Germans know what they're talking about when you say sausage and i was excited to eat! Our orders were:

H├╝hnerwurst is spicy chicken sausage. The order comes with default sidings of sauerkraut and potato salad. My friend dislikes sauerkraut and had hers changed to spatzl├ź. When they mean spicy it is a mean spicy sausage they make! The heat is smooth that it doesn't make you choke or gasp and grab your drink. This is one feisty sausage that makes you still want to dip it in hot sauce. By the way, this is chicken sausage, i'd have expected to be dry and hard but this is surprising! The spatzl├ź is similar to pasta, it's an egg noodle served with cheese. Though a little bland for me, i mixed it with one of the sauces and ker-blam! Made a whole lot of difference. P460

I, also took the sausage route because i luuuuurve SAUSAGES! Yum! I had the K├Ąsekrainer that is pork cheese sausage with sauerkraut and potato salad. When you slice into a sausage or bite into it, i love how the skin makes that crunch of breaking into the meat. The cheese also started to flow out and you could taste the difference in flavor from this pork & cheese vs. the chicken sausage. Absolutely flavorful!! P480

I could not resist ordering a Brezn. This Bavarian pretzel is soft, warm and salted in the right places. I'm not sure of it stayed out longer and would've hardened. But i'm too big a pretzel fan to let it sit there without being eaten, or rather be smothered by love in my belly. P90

Another order set on the table was the Fleischpflanzerl. These gorgeous meat patties have excellent sauce that's a cross between gravy and something exquisite. Was too tired to put my finger on the flavor but it was delicious! The order is huge! It came with bacon wrapped asparagus and mashed potatoes. P450

Drinks are in order. With gold food comes great drinks. I got an amaretto sour and the two ladies i was with had a wheat beer and an apple beer. I was too happy with my drink that i didn't bother asking them for the names of theirs. We only had A drink, which was new to us.

I will go back because the DJ looks good, the music is just right and not overwhelming and the fooooood is terrific!!!! The drinks are not tok shabby either! Haha! Not shabby AT ALL!

P.S. They have humpday wednesday and serve mojitos ba(?) at a cheaper price all day!

If you're looking for a place to drink, go to brotzeit. Eating? Not so much. It's quite costly and not really a value for money. However they have good beers!!! :) I ordered the beer with apple (which is like SanMig Apple) HAHAH! How adventurous! I also ordered the salmon risotto! Risotto wasn't that good but SALMON WAS NIIIICE!!! :))

Finally tried their branch at Makati and loved it! Ordered the ff:

Onion soup - this was for my youngest toddler and was impressed coz they even provided the kiddos their own plates, bowls, & utensils which are child friendly (looked like the colorful ones from ikea). Soup was good.

Liver spread served with some bread - tasted like liverwurst as well as the consistency. I love liver spreads on bruschetta any day so I was ok with it though I still love cibo's take on this.

Extra German Bread x 2- ok I still prefer baguette or ciabatta sana. But bread is like a staple for us so it's a must to have tons of it. Plus they don't serve any complimentary bread so had 2 orders of their German bread.

Sausages - got pork ones with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Yummy!

Bavarian flat pizza - hubby hated it but I was ok with this one.

Steak - hmm this was disappointing as per hubby. Tried a bite of it and was ok lang. Was dry and too well done. Specially we requested it be medium cooked.

Spatzle - yummy! Kiddos loved it!

Emperors cake - oh my! This was soooo good that we had a second order of this one! Yummy!

Overall: stick with sausages and emperors cake! Skip the rest except for the emperors cake for dessert!

Definitely will be back!

Ciao,

Finally a new watering hole in Makati! I've been wishing for a new place to go to because I was getting tired of going to Draft. Always packed and too noisy.

I've always wanted to go to Brotzeit at Shang but I rarely go out of my comfort zones, Makati and Fort. Good thing they finally opened a branch in Glorietta! Yay!

After a stressful week at work, I wanted beer and fries so that's what we got. Paulaner is one of my fave beers! Ordered currywurst to go with it.The sausage was really good. Tasty and juicy. It was good on it's own. No need for the spicy sauce. It was served on a bed of potato wedges. Heaven for a fried potato junkie like me. 128513

My friends ordered another pork sausage dish served with sauerkraut and roast potatoes. I think they got the garlic pork sausage. Not sure. I didn't like the sausage. For me it was malansa. Good thing the roast potatoes were perfect. Hihi. 128523

We also ordered pizza. We got the one with bacon and it was okay.

Food and drinks are a bit pricey (wait, maybe I just drank and ate lot. Thanks, stress! Lol!) but I enjoyed. I like the relaxed feel of the place. It's spacious enough and it's not noisy (unlike Draft. 128521). This could very well be my go-to hangout on Friday nights. 128522

Yes! Brotzeit is now in Glorietta. Got to have some Paulaner. Miss the smooth suave taste of this beer. What better way to have this with some pork cheese sausages and beef goulash soup and some tangy pizza they've got called Bavarian with bacon of course. 128522
