We availed the buy 1 take 1 Saturday promo on their shakes, we got ginger and basil shake, pretty sweet but felt healthy and good for digestion. We only came here to read our book buys from Greenfield but I'll definitely be back for the food.

The Shitake Basil Pasta was a sure hit. I loved its creamy white sauce and the tenderness of the mushroom. The basil leaves didnt taste overwhelming at all. Im surely goimg to order that again, when I come back!

For late lunch after our trampoline park experience, we looked on |ooloo and discovered this place across the street!

We hurriedly went in and decided to not order too much since we had another stop at Taft afterwards. The place looks kind of small but comfortable. We were seated and offered the menu. They offer a bunch of stuff including soup, sandwiches, salads, all-day breakfast meals (music to my ears) and a selection of mains. Prices are in the 200+ range.

I saw that they offered a 1/4 chicken piece + choice of rice (out of garlic, egg and leek, etc.) + choice of side for only 170 php, so we decided to get that haha.

The bf had his chicken with garlic rice (+15 php) and mac and cheese while I had mine with plain white rice and parmesan potatoes.

OMG you guys the chicken thoooo 128525 Skin was crisp but the inside was still very moist and juicy. And oh-so-flavorful! Every bite was a delight. It was like one of the perfect roast chickens for me haha. You don't need the sawsawan that comes with it. I also enjoyed the garlic rice (and it was just garlic rice!!) plus our sides.

I would definitely come back for their chicken though!

P.S. they have wi-fi and outlets! 128588

Vin treated me to lunch...at 4pm.

I had ribs, while Vin had kaldereta. I preferred his kaldereta over my ribs...

We got a free dessert...churros, which was ok.

Late dinner with my friend here. We were seated at the second floor since all tables downstairs were already taken. We got the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides and their carbonara. For the drinks, I got the Ginger+Basil shake while my friend had their house iced tea. These were recommended by the friendly waiter.

The chicken tasted goood!! No need for patis or toyo for added timpla. The sides were okay. The Ginger+Basil shake looked nice coz it was green and all, but it tasted weird. Not bad, just weird. The aftertaste was still there after i had tea and some cookies hours after!!128527128528 My friend said her drink was the usual iced tea.

As for the place, we both liked it. The dominant feature on the interiors is wood, hence the name "Brown"?128517 Anyway, good place good food at a fair price. Our bill was 749php total inc SC. You guys might wanna check them out!128521

Beef Bulgogi ☆☆☆
It was kinda salty so I give it 3 stars

The pork was so tasty! Love it!

Freshly Brewed Ice Tea ☆☆☆☆☆
Well recommended! Its really good and refreshing. Not to sweet. Just right.

Brown's Ginger and Basil Shake deserves a separate review.  I never liked ginger hence i am not fond of Tinola.

I was feeling a lil adventurous hence i decided to get the Ginger Basil shake (the buy one take one promo is a lil inviting).  A couple of minutes after,  a mason jar filled with green liquid was served.  I present to you,  Brown's Ginger and Basil Shake

I was pleasantly surprised after the first sip.  Refreshing,  subtle ginger and basil flavor.  Who would've thought that ginger-basil combination would taste this good!  I applaud Brown's for experimenting with different flavor combinations.

Deconstructed Salabat seems to be more appropriate,  yes?  Anyway,  i really enjoyed my mason jar filled with ginger/basil goodness.

It all started with a random phone call.  The next thing i know,  we have a set food trip at Kapitolyo.  And to top that,  we're gonna spend the day with fellow looloo members.

I met with my good friend Jairus at Brown's Gourmet Kitchen at Greenfield.  We were both following a strict "no rice diet"  hence we opted to share an order their chicken with two sides,  carrot and corn for me and buttered veggies for Jairus.  The server politely offered their shakes as they are on promotion - Buy One Take One.  Ginger and Basil looks promising.

We stayed downstairs but i noticed that they use wood is predominant.  I am guessing the design is a mixture of minimalist (usage of black and a lotbof squares) and a lil log cabin (the walls are adourned with wood planks).  The wifi is reliable and they play good music (The XX,  Tegan and Sara and a lil Damien Rice).

Then the food was served.  The sides were nothing out of the ordinary,  this is something you can do at home.  The chicken is awesome!!!  (tatlong tandang pandamdam para intense).  Big portions and the meat is really flavorful.   Roastong chicken is tricky especially when you deal with the breast part as it tends get a lil dry.   I am happy to report that this one isn't dry.  The meat is moist and oozing with flavors.

Overall, Brown's didnt disappoint.  We had a sumptuous brunch.

Bring mosquito repellent,  may lamok!!!!

Note: I will write a separate review for the Ginger and Basil Shake.

When service has been impressive, I usually come back. And I did with Brown’s. This time, I went with my mom and sister.

Hello again, Brown’s Gourmet Chicken.

It was a late lunch for us so we hurriedly ordered the following: Roasted Carrots and Garlic Soup (PHP90), Shrimp + Pork Egg Roll + Nuoc Cham (PHP110), Roasted Tomato pasta (PHP185), Brown’s Quarter Pounder Burger (PHP260), Fish and Chips (PHP245) and Fried Cookie Dough (PHP120).

First served was my drink, Mixed Berries. (I forgot to take note of the price but I’m sure it’s less than PHP150.)

The drink was a tad too sweet. It was like drinking Nerds but it sure was tasty. Not a thirst quencher but a delightful drink that went well with the savory dishes.

The roasted carrot and garlic soup was great! It was creamy and a great appetizer. Well, slightly biased here because I love garlic.

I also enjoyed the fried spring rolls. It was served hot and crunchy. Dipping it in the well loved sweet sauce made it a blissful appetizer.

The Roasted Tomato pasta was a bit too oily for me. They went a bit crazy with the olive oil but I loved how garlic-y the dish was.

My sister liked her burger. The pure beef patty was juicy and flavorful. And it sure filled her tummy. I was pretty happy too with the fries.

Mom didn’t like her fish and chips though as it tasted weird. I recall that my officemates didn’t like it either.

The fried cookie dough was yummy though. The chewy balls topped with until-now-we-are-not-so-sure-if-it-was-vanilla-ice-cream was a great way to end the meal. It was so much better than the churros I had before.

I would definitely visit again! 10084

Kapitolyo Food Crawl with fellow Loolooers!

These days, I rarely go to Manila. My must try list has been begging me to temporarily step out of the diet train to cross out the restaurants I saved gazillion years a go.

When my mom asked me to drive her to the airport today, I took it as a sign to bring out the foodie freak I placed in my diet box. I informed Reich T of my plan and she willingly agreed. Together with other fellow loolooers, we'll scout Kapitolyo's hidden gems and savor all the goodness we could find.

The plan was to start at lunch. I left the airport at 6am and decided to meet Reich in Greenfield District. We met at Gourmet Brown's Chicken.

It's a loft type of space with minimalist design. Black was the color theme and touches of wood interiors on the walls.

Still full from Kanto Freestyle Breakfast, I urged Reich to share a meal. We ordered Brown's roasted chicken. It came with buttered corn and vegetables. The chicken was well roasted and cooked to my liking. Same with the veggies.

The highlight of our meal goes to their Basil and Ginger Shake. It's so refreshing and we felt hydrated and energized. Odd flavors to my tastebuds but I throughly enjoyed it. Surprisingly. As per Reich, lasang halaman na masarap!128514

The comfort room is clean, crew was quick and good selection of indie music. Wifi was fast at 2 mbps and there are wall outlets ready for your gadgets to be plugged in.

I will surely return to Brown's Gourmet Chicken if I have the chance!

Where are you guys Roy Lambert T Ruth D Ruth S Clarissa P Russel F!!!128582🏻128582🏻128582🏻

Back at Brown's! We usually end up eating at this place when we decide to eat outside and at the same time, walk our puppy, Hedwig. This time, we ordered:

Garlic Longanisa - it was an ok meal. There were 3 pieces of longanisas that were also thin. Sayang, masarap pa naman sana. As I said, I'm an ulam person and Brown's seems to be consistent in its ulam-to-kanin ratio.

Pot Roast - new on the menu. Beef was overcooked and dry. Not juicy and was only saved by the sauce. Ang mahal pa naman nito 128532

Ginger and Basil Shake - the saving grace of the whole meal! I really like this, very refreshing and does not taste like pesto pasta 128514 on Saturdays, shakes are on buy 1 take 1 promo. However, the flavors should be the same, which is weird considering that the shakes all have the same prices.

Its always a plus when the servers at a restaurant are pet friendly. They offered to give Hedwig some water without me asking. Thanks guys 128077

I like dining in Greenfield District's The Hub area because there are few crowds! One favorite restaurant here is Brown's.

Usual order is the Perfect Plate, which is 1/4 chicken, salad and pasta. You can choose your salad and pasta-- their carbonara is quite good, leaning to the sweet side. Chicken is also good and juicy 128077

Chicken Cordon Brown - it ain't a bestseller, but it should be! I really liked their white sauce and their chicken is not dry. It comes with salad and garlic mashed potato, both were just ok. Its really the white sauce that brings the dish together.

Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs - this is my order and was a bit disppointed with the amount of meat served to me, not good for an ulam person like me 128528 regardless, pork was well seasoned and the rice was something as well.

Crew was attentive altho in took a while for our food to get served.

Comfort food at it's finest! 128588 I was actually feeling awful(cough and cold) when I dined here and the food definitely managed to make me feel better. I really loved how perfect their perfect plate is. 128077128079128147 From salad, to the creamy pasta carbonara, and really juicy flavourful chicken. Everything on the plate was on point. I also got their roasted carrot soup which boosted my mood immediately. I found it very comforting. Everything went really well together with a nice cup of warm calamansi juice. Their buy 1 get 1 promo on Saturday's would be shakes and the strawberry and mint shake was good.

Their staff was very attentive. 128076
Prices are fair based on the quality of food you're getting.
Their interiors caught my attention from afar, it's nice and airy. My kind of brunch place. 128521
Can't wait to take friends and sibbies here.128077

Anniversary promo: piso chicken when you buy any pasta.
Food:
Roasted tomato pasta 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻plenty of cherry tomato but didn't taste roasted.

Aglio olio 128077🏻128077🏻 bland, need more anchovy and garlic.

Shitake cream pasta 128077🏻128077🏻there's no button mushroom na nakalagay sa menu description, shitake mushroom lang (i just think its different) creamy but may umay factor.

Summer squash 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻 this I love! You can really taste the squash, creamy pero di nakakaumay, good play of textures because of the nuts and bacon bits. The only negative thing is the portion kasi nakakabitin..hehe.. Will try recreate this at home. 128522

Rosted chicken 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻 Sweet, salty, peppery, right amout of spices, sarap with rice, so after we finish the pasta, we ordered one rice each 128523
Garlic rice its like plain rice na sinamahan lang ng garlic bits & chives (can't taste the garlic) much better na plain rice ipartner sa chicken dahil malasa na yung chicken.

Service:
They will greet you instantly, the food arrive on time, the nega lang is the girl server assigned atd 2nd floor is new ata, di pa niya kabisado yung menu (I asked her anong mga rice meron sila, she leave and look at the menu pa, to think na 5 types lang andun), and we always need to call her attention to refill our water, and paisa isa lang bigay niya ng tissue pag nghingi lang kami.

Place
I liked the interior, the wooden wall, specially the frame that says "i'm obssessed with food" defines me 128517
Medyo mainit lang sa taas.🌡

Christmas season means lunch and dinner out with different groups of people. For my department’s Christmas dinner/party, we decided to try Brown’s Gourmet Chicken, a roasted chicken restaurant in Greenfield District. I saw it early December and it sure made me curious. Luckily, when I suggested that place, I got the department’s sweet yes.

Hello, Brown’s Gourmet Chicken!

The place is simply adorable. The wall décor is so warm and homey.

The second floor is equally charming. It’s also a great place for an intimate gathering for a group less than 20.

After appreciating the cute décor and kidding on stealing the wooden reindeer, we started to place our orders. I went with the 1/4 Roasted Chicken with 1 Rice and 1 Side (PHP170, but I changed my rice to eggs and leek which costs PHP45), Mushroom and Spinach Croquette (PHP120), Ginger and Basil Shake (PHP110), and Churros + Blonde Mocha (PHP120).

Service was quick as my appetizer arrived in less than 10 minutes.

The Mushroom and Spinach Croquette has a crispy batter.

Unfortunately, they used too much of it that I could hardly taste the mushroom and spinach. It was an okay dish though for an appetizer.

The roasted chicken was compared to Chooks to Go because of its peppery skin. I couldn’t say that I agree as I have never had that.

It was pretty good though. It had a nice slightly sweet taste. Though the meat was a bit dry, it went well with my eggs and leek rice and carrots and corn side dish.

The churro was not as dense as I hoped it would be but it was a good dessert to end the meal. The mocha dip is something mocha lovers would love. (Gluttonshopper note: The Fried Cookie Dough is sooo much better! But that will be in another entry.)

My favorite order though was my Ginger and Basil Shake. It was very refreshing and I liked the bit of spice brought by the ginger.

I would definitely visit this place again soon! (And I did, after two weeks.)

Had dinner here few weeks ago before running a late errand! It's almost closing time but they still entertained me for dine-in.

Tried the Roast chicken paired with white rice, and corn & carrots on the side for Php185. Their chicken has this mild sweetness that makes you eat it even without the sauce. It's juicy although it's a bit tough, imo. Maybe it's because their kitchen is almost closing? Well, that could be a factor.

But then, the service had been really great; hence, the 4-star rating.

This is like the 4th time I ate here.

Had late lunch today here since we don't know where to eat after watching minions.

Dominic had the beef bulgogi and I had their Pork Riblets Binagoongan.

The binagoongan doesnt taste like the usual binagoongan which I am expecting. I can't explain the taste. It's bland and taste like adobo without the soy sauce (huwaaat!?).

Before I had their roasted chicken which is good. Their pasta is also good.

I invited a friend to go with me in Saguijo for The Ransom Collective's "Fools" music video launch gig! But my friend hasn't had dinner yet, so he advised me to go with him first before we went to Saguijo.

We settled for Brown's Gourmet since this is much nearer and I think he hasn't tried it yet. He got the Big plate consisting of chicken, pasta and salad (like what I had on my first visit). He seemed to like it especially the Roasted tomato pasta. His thoughts about the Lemon + Basil salad was just so-so.

I tried the Roasted Chicken & Apple sandwich paired with fries and tartar sauce. The fries was sprinkled with spices that makes it interesting, and pairing it with the tartar sauce was priceless! The sandwich was filling and delicious! Each triangules were generously filled with chicken and apple bits mixed in bacon, greens, mayo, and special sauce. It has an interesting flavor that makes it really worth the try!

We also tried their churros and God, it's just really terrible! Too greasy, flaky and the chocolate dip was bland! La Lola still wins for me as the best churros in town!

It should've been a 5-star rating but the churros was a fail!
