I’ve been of fan of Chef Gene Gonzales when I used to frequent Cafe Ysabel in Addition Hills. I lived less than a kilometer from it for 10 years.

It’s my first time though on this Italian/ Spanish hub in Tomas Morato. Thanks to another Zomato meet up I get to re-live my foodie lifestyle all over again.

We got offered a number of dishes, mostly their best selling ones. A few dishes impressed (Lengua Salpicao, Angry Sauce Pasta and their Creme Brûlée sampler- especially the Mango).

Most were a bit disappointing. I guess expectations were high. Ironically, their top selling one was my least preferred pick- Crackling Pork Ribs. It was too greasy, bland piece of pork. It had an absence of flavor and was simply pork.

Nothing impressive as well on having Double Pepperoni Pizza because they don’t even make their own pepperoni. The Mac and Cheese was all cheese.

The Salmon with Passionfruit Hollandaise was another victim of its just pan fried salmon with under achieving sauce.

The drinks are so sweet, all of it. I hope that can be corrected. None of us finished the drinks.

There is a lot of creativity and just unfortunate execution. There is potential to be a go to place and I look for another to seeing that on my next trip.

They have the best salpicao in town! The gambas is also divine! The rib eye steak was big enough to share, tender and sauce complemented the meat. The brown butter cheesecake w calamansi glaze & burnt sugar ice cream is a perfect combination of sweetness and sourness. Ambiance is great.

After dining at Grind and Co, we decided to give Buenisimo's very photogenic strawberry shortcake a try. and yeahp, we just had that for dine. 128517

The place really looked fancy and romantic. Haha, good thing I did not go there alone or else... Haha.

So yeah, the picture above is their Strawberry Shortcake. Super duper photogenic indeed!

Price is a bit steep for being around 350 bucks for that small cake. 128517 i liked how spongy the base was soft, but intact. I'm sure gonna schedule visiting this store again for their main dishes.

so its my birthday and my husband search for this place for our lunch date, we have so much expectation for this restaurant but turn out it was a bad experience, first for the service while we are trying to enjoy our dish the server keeps on chatting with the chef and also other server as in super lakas ng usapan nila to the point na di na nila kmi pinapansin third time na tinawag ng husband ko bago sila sumagot, for the food hay nakakadisappoint the truffle cream soup prang nalasahan ko lang tubig na may roux, for the pasta overcooked, and lastly yung steak sauce have you guys tried the knorr demi glace. yun na yun.

Had a sumptuous lunch in this nice place. Affordable gourmet food and good service. The plating of the dishes looked nice and when eaten, delicious! We've been going to this place to try out new dishes and we've always enjoyed the experience 128516

Never fails to impress and give us a satisfying meal. I would recommend the following: salpicao (small serving but really good flavor and tender meat), homemade sausages, crackling pork ribs (generous serving!), paella (moist, flavorful and with fresh ingredients), four cheese pizza (super thin), truffle pasta (single serving is good for sharing)

Service was really good. Food was blah..

1. Caesar Salad: too much dressing

2. Saffron Seafood Soup: was good

3. Paella Negra: by far the worst i have ever tasted. It was really salty, too watery.

Wasnt happy with our orders:

1. Pasta Ysabel - could've used more salt, it lacked flavor. I've already added generous amount of parmesan cheese, but to no avail.

2. Pizza Napolitana - the crust was too thin , thus became soggy. It was "matabang" also.

3. Creme Brulee Trio Sampler - the flavora were vanilla, mango & dulce de leche. Didnt like the dulce de leche. Didnt taste creme brulee at all. It was too heavy and not smooth consistency.

Service was ok.

When my dad was in town, I wasn't too sure where to take him for dinner in QC since I'm not very familiar with the area. Good thing looloo came to the rescue and I chose this restaurant, mostly because Romulo Cafe was full.

We got complimentary amuse-bouche, which was a piece of salmon on top of a teeny tiny pancake. Meeeh. I'm not a fan of fish.

We ordered Caesar salad (well, for my dad because he bothers eating things like vegetables128514) and the lamb shank (which came on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and beef escalopes). The menu said it was for sharing, but I was disappointed to see that there wasn't enough meat for two people to be satisfactorily fed (at least for meat lovers like me). I also found the lamb to be a bit on the tough side.

For dessert, we got the vanilla-strawberry pannacotta and chocolate cannoli. My dad who limits his sugar intake for health reasons only took a couple of bites and left the rest to me. Bwahahaha. It was nothing spectacular, though.9786

Service was great. Our server was very attentive and very patient with my questions.

But would I go back?! Most likely not.
