There has been a renaissance of sorts lately for a lot of burger lovers and entrepreneurs alike, and I’m not one to complain whenever I get the chance to try out a new variant. And just like in early 2000, a number of burger restaurants are popping up into today’s food scene.
Just located along Shaw Boulevard in Pasig is this diner called Burger Spot. They serve a full American experience as well as some hints of Filipino flare with some rice plates. You could also sense upon entering that they are thriving to become a different location from your average burger haven.
The burgers we ordered were quite a range so we can distinctly compare with other players. We got first Margherita Burger (Php 199), a pizza inspired ensembled filled with mozzarella cheese, marina basil sauce, pepperoni, lollo rosa and their signature buttery and crispy brioche. This was an interesting piece, light in flavor combinations yet filling to have.
We also had El Burguesa (Php 185), this had saltier American cheese, lollo rosa, spicy watermelon salsa with Burger Spot secret sauce. I like the sweet and fruity touch of this one, and the sauce gave it a much needed heightened savory taste.
Their premiere burger offering stole the show, Juicy Lucy (Php 299) was a 1/2 pound patty with loads of screaming crispy bacon. If you are looking for a good old classic bite that overwhelms, this is a might example of that.
Burger spot had some excitement going but their patty could use some more love. I suggest more spice and a thicker one instead of flat. This way it can give us beefier juicy goodness.
Our foodie team also tried one member of the Sausage Squad with their Rockin’ Subs (Php 189). They used meaty and seasoned to perfection Andouille sausage and topped it with milky slaw, bacon bits, and cheese.
Three chicken wings were also offered to us and I have to commend it for being consistently good from the skin all the way to the inside. We had the Hickory Smoked Chicken, Buffalo Classic, and my favorite Yuzu Wasabi Fried Chicken Wings. The latter had a wonderful combination of honey yuzu and a Japanese kick of wasabi.
For beverages, their milkshakes are also something to rave about, as it was rich and thick, thanks to an overwhelming amount of ice cream they put in it. I finished my Chocolate Milkshake with gusto!

Burger Spot is a burger joint located along Shaw Boulevard in Kapitolyo, Pasig. The nearest landmark is the gasoline station in Pioneer St.
The burger place looks very casual when we dined last week. Although it is not big but it can accommodate more than 40 customers.
We were served several burgers during our eat up and other specialty of the house.

“All the burgers and sausage we had tasted good. Maybe they could just cooked the burger in a medium well doneness to make it more juicier.”

For me, the Yuzu Wasabi stand out among the 3 chicken wings. The creaminess of the sauce blends well with the fried chicken wings.
One thing about Burger Spot to keep me coming back is that they served affordable and flavorful burgers, just let the chef on what doneness you prefer in your burger.
By the way, you should try the Juicy Lucy and Yuzu Wasabi Wings. Best paired with Milk Chocolate Shake.
Thank you Harvard for the invite.
