Located in Sitio Dalaruan, Occidental Mindoro, Puerto Galera's BURI RESORT & SPA, is the only 4 Star Boutique Spa Resort and is a haven for relaxation and a romantic getaway.
I was blessed enough to be able to stay in this hotel for free for 2 nights because of my job. We stayed here to shoot our client's prenup and they chose this place for all of us to stay.
Upon entering the resort, they will offer fresh Calamansi Juice and a Cold Towel as refreshments. My first impression as I walk in would be, "Wow ang sosyal!" Haha! Since i'm a budget traveler and rarely stay in high class resorts, it really felt luxurious to be here.
🛌We stayed in a Family Villa. They have the ff:
• 1 Queen Bed (Ground Floor)
• 3 Single Beds (2nd Floor)
• 1 Bathroom
• Flat Screen LCD TV
Maximun Capacity: 5/4 Adults
'The Family Villa is a modern take on a traditional design with its generous spaces, high ceilings, use of natural light, plus streamlined architecture and decor.' The feel is very homey, Traditional PH Province vibe but still luxurious. The Nipa Huts added the ethnic vibe to it. For the rooms palang I can already give them 5 stars. The shower had heaters, they have bidets, hair blowers, extra towels and pillows you need not to ask anymore for. Everything is literally inside the room.
Regarding the rates, one night stay here cost roughly 18-20k per person. But they do offer a lot of promos on their website.
I never thought Puerto Galera would have a luxurious resort like this as my impression on the white beach is too far from this. There are a lot of foreigners staying here. Sobrang peaceful talaga ng place even during mornings.
BEST PLACE FOR:
•Intimate Gatherings / Events
• Infinity Pool
• Signature Spa
• ALL Day Dining Restaurant (The food here is quite Pricey)
Buri Resort & Spa offers village tours, nature treks, snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, and other exciting activities. If ever I have the opportunity I wanna go back here and try their tours.
✔️THUMBS UP to the hospitality of their staff. Mafeefeel mong sobrang alagang alaga ka dito. They greet with a warm good morning and good evening every time they see you plus palagi silang nakaSMILE
Overall Rating: 5/5️

A Paradise I will never forget.
Last Saturday Oct 24, my husband and I celebrated our advance 16th wedding anniversary. but our real wedding anniversary date is Oct 26, we celebrated in advance since it falls on a Monday
A couple of months we were thinking of were to celebrate our anniversary and at first we think of going to Davao but there was an abduction incident happened recently so we need to change plans and I decided to choose Puerto Galera for our anniversary destination. I've been to many places here in the Philippines already but I still haven't to Puerto Galera and I think this is the right time. Puerto Galera is on my travel bucketlist. Puerto Galera is in the northwesternmost municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro. Region IV - B (MIMAROPA).
I remember I've done some research before of the best resorts in Puerto Galera and I found Buri Resort and Spa. I learned some celebrities have been here already. So I go to their website again and look at their accommodation and I felt that this is the perfect place to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary.
Weeks before our departure, hubby booked on their website. Here is the link in case some of you might be interested to go here and I know you'll be after reading my review.

We booked an overnight stay on their website. From Oct 24 (Saturday) to Oct 25 (Sunday). We were supposed to book a family villa but kids are not joining us this time because we want an intimate anniversary staycation. So we just got the garden villa and had research that this is the perfect room for couples or honeymooners like us.
Best available rate for this room is 6,000 pesos only. Breakfast is not included. So we had an add on in our bill of 2 pax of Filipino Set Breakfast that cost 480 nett per person so multiply by 2 is 787 pesos. Subtotal 7,687. Taxes and Fees 1, 493.14 and the Total cost is 8, 280.14 pesos only! Other charges is boat transfer from Muelle Port to Buri is 250 per way.
Rate inclusions: Welcome drink and cold towel upon arrival, Accommodation in an air conditioned villa, use of resorts facilities ( infinity pool and non motorized watersports activities).
Buri Resort and Spa is nestled in Batangas Channel inside Puerto Galera Bay which was recently named as one of the most "Beautiful Bays in the world" by the Paris based club des plus belles bales du monde. Buri features 12 villas designed after the Filipino hut with oozing rustic charm and ambience that blend with the lush of flora and beautifully landscaped gardens ideal for couples and families and group of friends. There are many activities at the resort and throughout Puerto Galera area as the island is known for numerous pocket beaches. It also boasts snorkeling and diving spots that show diverse coral reef species , fishing , island hopping tours and more .
Finally Oct 24, the day we've been waiting for. Hubby and I knows that this will be another one of a kind travel experience. We left Manila by 6am and drive all the way to Batangas Port. You'll have to passed SLEX and the Star Tollway. The Batangas port is located at the end part of Batangas so you'll not get lost all you have to do is drive straight and it will took you 2 to 3 hours depends on your car speed.
At around 9 am we reach the Batangas Port. It's our first time to reach a port. So we look for the Park N' Sail which i did some research. This is were we going to park our vehicle. We didn't have a hard time finding it. There was a security guard who assisted us on where to safely park our car and glad we have three locks on our vehicle so we won't worry leaving it on the Port even if there were a security who will watch over our vehicle. Park N Sail is an open parking. There's another covered parking but were already satisfied with Park N Sail as I have researched it, it's credible.
We took our stuffs from the car and walked going to the Terminal 3. There were guys approaching us but glad I made research that I must ignore those. We go to the ticket booth and as my research told me to choose Minolo Shipping Lines. We bought two tickets for around 500-600 pesos including the terminal fee. There's this guy who assist us going to the passengers Terminal and carry our bags and have it scanned. We just gave a tip for helping us carrying our luggage and for some tips on where to go and what to do at the Port. Our luggage has been scanned just like with what's happening in an airport. Then when we got inside it looks like also in an airport passengers waiting area. There were seats, food stalls, restroom , tours etc. We haven't ate our breakfast and we only have 30 mins before boarding so we buy pizza from Batangaños food stand. The whole box of pizza I think is around 100 and the flavor that we choose is their specialty and we finished it all. Then the remaining minutes was spent at restroom to freshen up. The ferry arrived on time at 9:30 am. So we we hurriedly went to the boat as it is not a reserve seat, it's a first come first serve basis and we want to choose a nice seat. We were seated in the middle.
It's a mixed feeling before we leave the port, excited and nervous because this would be the first time I'll ride a ferry boat in 1 hour and 15 mins not like in Boracay the time travel is shorter. Everything was in order. Staffs from the Shipping lines are checking everything on the boat. We feel safe and secured as there was life vest for every passengers. We wear it of course for our safety.
We had selfies and enjoyed the scenery of the boats we passed by. While hubby had fallen asleep I was wide awake. I want to see everything while on our way to Muelle Port.
Exactly 1 hour and 15 mins our ferry boat landed at Muelle Port. It's a small docking station. Most of the passengers were fetched by shuttle service and were the one who won't ride that because someone is going to pick is up. I grab my phone and called Buri to say that were already at Muelle then they were calling hubby's phone but because it got broken the night before we leave so we didn't get their message, so they told me that they will text me the name of the boat that will bring us to Buri. It would be a Sea Warrior Boat.
The boatman named is Mang Rey and he will be our boatman throughout our stay. I'm happy because there were a signage at the boat saying " Welcome Mr. And Mrs. Laurio at Buri" It is a 15 mins boat ride going to Buri. It is located at the far end side of Muelle and sea breeze is really relaxing while on our way there. At last we reached the island and staffs are waiting there and help us going down the boat and carry our luggages.
We proceed at their restaurant named Animasi. The place was so quiet and their staff named Grace gave us a refreshing welcomed drinks and cold towels. She spoke for 5 to 10 mins and orient us about the Resort. After the orientation we asked them to fix our garden villa for an early check in and we also ordered our lunch as we were hungry already. After we had our lunch the room was already fixed so we were assisted by their staffs going to our villa. This is another amazing experience. We had so much steps to reach our garden villa. Our room was Dahlia. When we opened our room it was so amazing! There was a romantic set up on our bed as requested by hubby when he booked online. It's a special request since they were aware that it is our wedding anniversary. How romantic it is. A getaway we truly deserved. There was a flat screen tv, fridge, split type aircon, the bathtub is at the outside of the room, feels like in Bali. Then there was an attic too.
We rested for an hour and just lay down on bed then we called the operator on the phone and inquire how can we go to White Beach because I need to buy souvenirs. Staff told me that it would cost 1,600 pesos for one way boat ride and I told them if there is any other way, they told me that the cheaper way is to get back to Muelle Port again and the charge is 250 pesos only and we need to get back before 6pm because the rate will be doubled. So we hurriedly book boast and Mang Rey will bring us back there again. We were lucky that our boatman was nice. We had small talk with Mang Rey while on our way to Muelle.
At Muelle we ride a tricycle for 150 pesos and we finished before 6pm and had our dinner already there so it won't cost us much. So when we got back at Buri we rested at our room and after an hour we went down and head over to the pool area. Since were done with early dinner at White Beach we just had some cocktail drinks and beer. Then we had growers and their calamares was good.
The pool view at night was amazing. Were drinking under the moon and the stars and everything is peaceful that time. Then after two hours we went back at our room. The doorbell rang and we weren't expecting that their staff will gave us sweet note before going to sleep. The first note says; Remember the yesterday's, plan your tommorow, and celebrate your today , may your love for each other burn brighter each day. Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs. Laurio then another note etched at the leaves says : Touch your heart close your eyes make a wish say goodnight sweet dreams. I've never experienced a resort such as Buri who find time giving sweet and personalized notes before going to bed and then lights off....
Woke up at 6am and excited fir breakfast. We had the best breakfast of our lives. I'll write a separate review about their restaurant. Then back again to our room and rear for an hour then we dip into the infinity pool. I loved their pool here. The place was really a paradise full of trees. The plants at the resort was well maintained. Were the only people at the pool as there was only few guests at the resort and most of them were done on the pool and was out for island hopping.
We checked out exact 12noon and Mang Rey is waiting for us again. The bills were paid and were not ready to go. It's just a short romantic getaway and we will never forget this place. I wrote this long review because I want each and everyone knows the every single details of our amazing journey at Buri. I want the readers to feel and experience what we had.
Stunning sunsets, gorgeous beaches, beautiful gardens and quiet enjoyment awaits you at Buri Resort and Spa. A leading luxury resort in Puerto Galera.

If you're looking for a place to relax and wants to avoid the beach crowd, Buri is the perfect destination.
The resort is just 3 and a half hours from Manila. It is located in a very secluded island so the management will coordinate with you to arrange your private boat transfer from Muelle Port.
When we got to the resort, they welcomed us with drinks and cold towels. Since we came 2 hours earlier before the check-in time, we decided to have lunch first. I find it a bit pricey because there's nothing really special about their menu. And since there are no other restaurants outside the resort, you'll be forced to dine here unless you'll arrange a boat transfer going to another beach nearby (which will cost you a dime!). So piece of advice, bring a lot of snacks! They're not really strict about it so you'll be fine ️
Well, forget about the restaurant! The pool villa was uh-mazing! It's a 2-story villa located on a hill so each one has a view of the ocean. There's a queen bed with a bathroom on the first level and another double bed with a bathroom on the attic. It's actually kinda huge for 2 people plus, you get to have your own plunge pool! I guarantee you, you'll never want to leave the villa! Well, climbing up a hundred steps to get there is the main reason
The only thing I did not like about Buri is that they don't have a nice beach. Like if in the middle of the night you decided to walk along the shore? No. That's not gonna happen. But you can always arrange a boat transfer to another beach if you want ️ which again, will cost you a dime!

Voted as one of the country's top 10- and truly one of the best resorts weve been to lately
From Puerto Galera's Muelle Port, the resort's boat will pick you up and for 10mins you'll get to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Mindoro
Upon arrival, we were given calamansi shakes and cold towels and a quick orientation about the place. After checkin we were able to go to our Garden Villa (queen bed with outdoor tub/shower!) then got dressed for our afternoon swim
The resort is very calm and serene, and our fellow guests were foreigners with families hence nothing too rowdy for my taste
They had 2 amazing infinity pools, a poolside bar (happy hour 4-7pm!), a restaurant (good foor at affordable prices!), and only 11 villas (garden, family, poolside) so we were able to enjoy the privacy and security in the area. Its very picturesque so get your cameras ready
For only P5300 (overnight in garden villa + 250/head rt muelle-buri-muelle transfers), i must say that this vacation is actually quite a steal! Every penny is worth it💲
The staff is very accommodating, they knew us by our names everyone was polite- from the resort manager Helen to the last boatman, i really felt very welcome & at home in Buri

Very peaceful. Perfect for people who love the sea but hate the crowd. Awesome staff. Food was average and quite pricey. Love the Buri Ice Cream though!
