Unlike my first two visits, my third and most recent visit to Burr Espresso was a lot better. Because I know how their drinks tend to be too cloying (judging from my previous dine-ins), I asked them not to make my cappuccino too sweet. Muffin was just good.
However, their rules regarding providing WiFi have changed. Now, you have to have at least a ₱200 single purchase to avail of their WiFi service. Something which I am not keen about.

#WhenInAngono Loner mode, as usual. Normally, after a heavy meal I would often have hot coffee, matcha and a light kind of dessert.
After the just-concluded |ooloo rendevoos at Burgoo, Robinsons Galeria today, I wished to have some coffee but I didn't want to experience rush-hour city traffic again (like last night and just a while ago, that's why I arrived almost an hour late! 🙁).
I managed to beat the traffic and here I am in Angono. So I decided to have some coffee here at Burr Espresso, just near SM Center Angono.
I was here before. I liked the interiors and ambiance but I was not impressed with the cafe mocha (too sweet and not quite smooth) that I ordered. So I decided to give it another try.
Unlike the usual, I settled for the cold stuff:
◼ Affogato - ₱85
◼ Matcha & Cookies Frappe - ₱150 (small)
Affogato - It doesn't disappoint! It's like any other affogato. The wafer stick is not necessary, but it is probably for decorative effect.
Matcha & Cookies Frappe - Yes, it is rather dark green, so I have thought it indicates the deep and grassy kind of matcha that I love. But at first sip, I find it too sweet and fragrant. Its flavor is more like Lipton tea or jasmine than matcha Too cloying really.
✔ Nice interiors
✔ Lots of seating, inside the cafe (non-smoking area) and the patio (smoking area)
✔ Relaxing Ambiance
Everything would have been perfect if not for some of their beverages, they're somewhat a miss. I hope they should temper the amount of sugar in some of their beverages, like in the case of this matcha frappe and the cafe mocha on my first visit. But the affogato =

#wheninAngono Burr Espresso is one of the newest establishments to enter the food scene in the nation's Art Capital.
It is located on the second floor of an unnamed building just opposite Angono Medics Hospital and a few blocks away from Meralco Angono and SM Center Angono, on the town's main road (M. L. Quezon Avenue). You can easily spot it with its big logo and bright display (at night).
They had their soft opening last 26th (as far as I remember) and had their grand opening just yesterday.
Last Friday I visited the place to see how it was faring so far.
For now, they have espresso-based drinks, frappes and matcha drinks, as well as cakes, muffins and waffle pops.
🔸Caffe Mocha, small (₱110) - it was like more of a hot chocolate than coffee. All right, mocha has chocolate but I guess the taste of coffee should stand out more, right? This was too cloying. There was a puddle of chocolate at the bottom. I missed the coffee's inherent strength on this one. The coffee art was beautiful though.
🔸Chocolate cake (₱80 per slice) - I loved this cake. Even though I'm a dark chocolate lover, I was surprised to find this cake so good. The thick ganache had a delightfully milky flavor. And it was affordable to boot.
🔸Chocolate chip muffin (₱75) - for takeout.
It's way too early to evaluate this coffee shop as a whole, as this is just new in town. I only write what I saw and experienced there. Hopefully they will extend their menu to include some savory snacks.
🔸Nice, Instagrammable interiors and exteriors. Quite "millennial".
🔸Free and fast WiFi.
🔸Ample seating, even in the al fresco area (where you are allowed to smoke).
Service was typical, and the staff were accommodating. But the restroom was out of order at the time. Their sound system was experiencing some problems, which were kind of distracting. But the staff tried their best to fix it.
I am looking forward to visit Burr Espresso again. It also offers affogato and matcha drinks (hot and frappe) and I'm excited to try them soon. Hope this place will last in the long run.
