Filipino cuisine with a twist. Tried pan seared tilapia with coconut milk and pineapple, crispy kare kare, sinigang in sampalok and watermelon and their inihaw platter. The inihaw was just ordinary. The sinigang was good but I was not able to notice the flavor of the watermelon. Crispy kare kare a mix a crispy pata and kare kare was a great combination but I wish I could have tasted the peanuts more in the sauce. The best for me was the tilapia. The sweetish sour flavor of the coconut and the pineapple enhanced the taste of the lowly tilapia.

What we've tried:
Crispy Kare Kare
Buko Pandan Shake

What to love at fhe C2:
Kare kare is one of my favorite, and I must say that their crispy kare kare is made up of crispy pata with some fried veggies and with kare kare sauce/soup? I guess it could have been more delicious if the soup is not that malapot

About the buko pandan shake, it's delicious too.
As for the food, busog na busog po kmi sarap to the bones... ( if I don't have braces right now, maybe nakain ko pa ang karne sa kuko ng pata, just worried sa brackets 128557)

Customer service is beyond 5 stars. The waiter entertained us very well, explained all we asked about in the menu in a detailed manner and refilled our glasses whenever it goes empty immediately.

What I don't like:
The ambience since Shangri-la was doing renovations.
Thanks to Paul E for recommending C2's kare kare128526

I won't be having Filipino food for awhile so I decided to pig out with my boyfriend today. We had one order of Crispy Kare-Kare and one Sinigang na Suahe. We actually sat near the kitchen, which was only separated by a glass closure so we could see everything going on inside and it was quite interesting. Anyway, the Kare-Kare was really good. I'm not a fan of Kare Kare but what we had was sooo good, tasted like Crispy Pata! The Sinigang was good as well, they were generous with the number of shrimps. Hihi! I think there was a total of 9 pieces in our order. 128522 and the Bibingka Soufflé for dessert was the cherry on top for our bountiful luncheon. 128522 It was a little too sweet but I liked it.

I guess the only down side was that the rice we got was 50 pesos per cup... It was placed in a medium sized bowl and the rice inside was barely half of the bowl... 128529 I remember it being filled up to the brim before but oh well at least we ate less rice than usual..

I'd definitely recommend the place if you want to have a dose of Filipino cuisine. Better try their Crispy Kare Kare with yummy peanut sauce with Aligue Rice (Crab rice) / Adobo Rice then also order for their Crispy Squid topped with sweet sauce. Yummy meal!

What happened to C2?? Too small portions (half a malnourished Crispy Chicken for php320?, Lechon Kawali Binagoongan - like 6 cubes?) and so so taste!! (Walastik should have read wala - stik - a totally forgettable spin on Bistek Tagalog, like how the HELL do you mess up Bistek Tagalog?) Drinks that go for Php 60 for a regular sized glass and php 75 for soda. For a location that just sits on the side of the escalator - without having your own like real space? So noisy, no AC... Ugh!!
Wake up C2! So many new restos opening up and with apps like looloo to show the way to the best ones... Shape up or ship out!!

A unique Pinoy Light and Heavy Sweet Ending: Bibingka Souffle and Suman Panacota.

The Bibingka Souffle: Light, airy, nicely sweet soufflé with Salted Duck Egg bits and grated cheese. Pour the Bibingka Sauce. Light, airy, yummy, bibingka heaven! Good bibingka goodness sans the traditional rice flour heaviness.

their newest offering, the Suman Panacota: Suman topped with creamy Panacota and drizzled with Latik then sprinkled with muscovado and crunchy pinipig. The suman sa puti was smooth, sticky, and nicely dense. Loved the creamy Panacota. The Latik Syrup and the Crispy Pinipig simply tied the whole unique kakanin together. A very different way of enjoying our traditional suman----and it was yummy!

Pair these with Kapeng Barako. Early unique Pinoy Holiday good sweet indulgences indeed!

We tried the unlimited merienda for 199... Not bad... We can choose 3 items from the all day merienda selection.

🔹suman w/ langka sauce
🔹arroz caldo
🔹tokwa't baboy
🔹sotanghon guisado
🔹ginataan halo-halo
🔹bam-i
🔹pancit molo

You just have to finish all 3 before you ask for second serving.

Best selection for me are the suman with langka sauce and the pancit molo soup.., the rest are ok.... 11088

I've always relied on C2 for good Filipino (albeit in not-so-traditional fashion) food. Been patronizing this restaurant since they first opened. Sad to say the quality of the food has deteriorated with the increase in price. :(

Had the Crispy Kare Kare (which was essentially crispy pata with kare-kare sauce on the side) - the pork wasn't as tender as I would expect at that price. Would've gotten better quality at Gerry's or Dencio's. The bagoong was also too salty that potentially overpowered the peanut sauce. Wouldn't really order his again. Lesson learned: stick to tried and tested favorites such as the Tilapia in Coconut Emulsion.

The Salted Egg Rice was delicious as always and this one is a must order for me along with one of my favorite desserts - the Bibingka Souffle.

Their food is just fantastic but the bibingka soufflé is my favorite. Light, airy, sweet & salty and still tastes like bibingka.

I wanted crispy pata. But we can't just have meat for ulam, but then again we might not finish everything if we get two viands. Good thing they have their Crispy Kare-Kare! It's Crispy Pata + the Kare-Kare sauce and veggies on the side. The price difference is just less than P100 between getting the Crispy Kare-Kare and the Crispy Pata. Getting a separate veggie viand would have cost more than double of that so it was quite sulit. 128077

For dessert, we tried their bibingka soufflé. The serving's just good for one person. But if you just want to taste, it's good enough for two. While it wasn't so bad, I don't think I'll consider it when I'm craving for soufflé. And I like my bibingka with that familiar slightly burnt taste so I'm probably better off buying one from Bibingkanitan.

Loved their food!

We ordered Sumpia, which was fried lumpia with a twist, it had different vegetables and hard boiled egg yolk inside. Really good! We also ordered Binagoongan na Lechong Kawali. This was my favorite! It's your classis lechon kawali but topped with bagoong and sided with eggplant and atsara. It was a bit salty for obvious reasons but the eggplant countered the saltiness. For beef, we ordered Walastik. I'm not really sure how it differs from the usual Bistek Tagalog cause that's exactly how it tasted. The beef was perfectly tender and the sauce was really tasty. It was topped with pechay thay went well with it.

C2 carries the famous Cravings cakes for their dessert, so we ordered White Chocolate Sans Rival and Chocolate Pastillas. I'm one dessert junkie so I definitely loved the cakes. Really, really good.
