Food refills take forever. The sushi selection looks old. And they seemed under staff. Even when we complained that the food were almost out they didn't even refill.

Filipino Buffet Restaurant for 398php. I say not bad. I love their food. If you want that Filipino fiesta feel - go to Cabalen!

3 stars because of their service. They are slow on refilling the dishes. I got too excited when I saw them refill the crushed ice so I immediately put crushed ice on my glass totally forgetting that you should put the "halo" first in making halo halo. I was so embarrassed. Haha.

Actual Place is in Glorietta. haha Sorry I can't wait to review it. So it was friday evening 29th of the month payday??!! haha and the mall was packed that time. We went here to buy gifts for our christmas party exchanged gifts. We were tired na coz we walked lang from gil puyat ave super traffic din kasi. Instant exercise. haha We wanted to eat to a resto we never tried before. We went to different resto in the area and the place was also packed. Then we passed by at Cabalen. There's not much people that time and we saw that the buffet is only 368. haha Due to our desperation to eat dinner. We went here and there's already a seat for us. Yey! sa wakas. We are so gutom we hurriedly get up on our chair, get a plate and eat. haha

The food was Ok lutong bahay but best pa din ang luto ng mama ko. Haha 128540 Oh how I miss home. We are busog tlga. The best part is the dessert. They have chocolate fountain. haha You know na what we do. drooools 128537128537

Reception was held here after the Christening of my friend's baby.

They serve mostly Pinoy dishes with a few kinds of sushi. Food was okay, but nothing really stood out and wow-ed me that day. Ika nga pwede na, laman chan din! Hehehe! Most of the time, the buffet spread was empty and it took them a while to refill. I got tired of waiting that I just went back to my seat and chatted away with friends, occasionally eating what they have on their plate. LOL!

I think I was still in grade school the last time I visited Cabalen and it was my cousin's graduation blowout. 12 years ago maybe.

My mom decided to have our dinner at Cabalen and the thoughts of the challenge in eating kuhol made me feel excited.

First plate, sushi rolls, vegetable tempura, and siomai. The sushi rolls were okay but I think I like the ones from the supermarket stalls better compared to this. Veggie tempura- did I read vegetable tempura or vegetable gum? Lol! Siomai- my mom's siomai is much better!

Second plate - cabalen salad - duh there's nothing unique for it to be called cabalen salad! It was just shredded green mangoes, onions, and tomatoes. Bringhe - it's tastes like suman curry. Haha!

Dinuguan, inihaw na bangus, lechon, sisig, native longganisa - they were all COLD! Not even lukewarm for me! The kare-kare - it was okay. The puso ng saging is bigger than the meat. The sauce is really masarap, problem is that it's so sticky. I felt like there's glue between my lips.

Dessert bar was okay. Chocolate fondue didn't really excite me at all because marshmallows are the only ones served for dipping.

Now for my kuhol - WALANG KUHOL! Hay! Dati talaga masarap sa Cabalen pero ngayon there were very few food choices. Or maybe because it's a weekday?

398 for such buffet? I can't say it's worth it. Tramway pa din for a cheap and good tasting buffet! Tramway - 258 pesos only!

Will give 3 stars for the sake of kabusugan.

Few filipino food and desserts choices. The sushi was looking sad. Haha waiters are too busy for trying to get their attention and i don't know why but I think it's okay for a price of 384 +60 for bottomless drinks.

Never thought I'd give a two-star review, but my dining experience here was just awful. Have you ever eaten in a place where everyone was eating their meals sadly? I was qualm the whole time I was there.

Of course the lechon and tocino was good. Rice was fluffy, so that's a plus. The other food choices didn't taste like anything special. The beef siomai was meeh and the vegetable tempuras were almost stone hard.

They also had a fondue, which was the only thing I enjoyed. However, there weren't any options in what to dip in it, only marshmallows and banana. Well unless you go adventurous and add chocolate to bico or halo-halo.

The place looked dirty and the floors felt sticky even if they weren't for some reason. Actually I saw baby cockroaches! Huhu EEW 128584 There were no lights in the lavatory too. The servers also got our drinks wrong. We initially had bottomless iced teas and they refilled it with water. Boo! And I suggest you check the bill before you pay, they got ours mixed up. 128532

Yesterday's lunch before we headed to the airport to fetch my cousin. My dad en uncle are like monsters. Lol they finished 4 plates. I only had 2 plates en I've already raised the flag. 128541

Typical Filipino lunch. Though I was at home. I hate their washroom. So untidy. Can somebody be assigned only to maintain that? Splash of water en tissues everywhere. Ugh!128586
