Looking for a low-key but classy date place near Taft? Check this out! I’ve been living in Vito Cruz for about 7years now and I feel sorry for discovering this place just recently. I learned about this thru social media and I cant believe it's just walking distance from my place. Brilliant!
Cafe Alicia is located inside the Orchid Garden Suites across Century Park Hotel in Pablo Ocampo. It’s actually not easily seen so you really have to go through the hotel.
You will be welcomed with a mini staircase and you'll see the name of the café. It kind of gives a romantic vibe (well for me) I got the same feels with Café Ysabel. Upon entering, I was really astonished literally (Check out the photos). Like I cannot believe how beautiful the place is! Who would've thought right? We went here weekend afternoon and good thing, we owned the place that time lol. There were three staff who greeted us and lead us to our table and gave the menu right away. It took a while before I was able to focus on the menu since I really can’t take off my eyes of the place. It was love at first sight.
The interiors are just perfect for me. The white interior design gives a very stylish and delightful ambiance. I admire how the blue chandeliers, alternate blue window panes, blue and white stripes chair foams compliment with the white tables. I assume that it was a Santorini inspired concept. Just lovely! I also like that they placed different historical photos with small frames on the walls plus the yellow lamps beside them! I also noticed that they have a very minimalist branding style. Spot them! 🏼
There are actually three divisions for their dining area, one is upon entrance, there’s one couch-window side and there are also standard tables (4 seaters), the next one can be booked for groups exclusively (6 seaters- that's where I had my photo taken lol), the other has a different interior, a darker one, contrast with wooden chairs and tables which can be perfect for a more formal gathering or meetings. Your choice!
One interesting concept about this place is that it has a secret bar inside. I didn’t expect that. Just wow. They are open from 3pm -11pm and they have a happy hour from 4pm – 7pm. So if you happen to bring your date here and want some chill after, you can just go to their bar. It has a different concept too! I like the checkered tiles and wooden table and chairs. It gives a homey feels where you can drink til you drop. Jk
So let’s discuss about their food… It’s too obvious that I fell inlove with the place so much. Haha!
We ordered for Caesar Salad (P235) it has classic salad of fresh romaine lettuce, topped with BACON bits, croutons and parmesan cheese. This is actually good. I like their dressing and they even gave me an extra since I always get one when ordering any salad, they know what I was thinking. Good job! Lol. I love that it has a lot of bacon. It’s better if they can give me unli bacon though lol
Boneless Chicken BBQ (P295) since they mentioned that this is one of their best sellers. They served chicken breast marinated in herbs served with java rice and pickled papaya. I tasted a few portion only and I love the java rice. It’s not the usual java rice, it has a lot of spices which makes it tasty. The chicken breast was just okay for me. I like that it’s tender and saucy. I also ordered for their cappuccino at (P150) comes with a small sweet bread.
They also serve buffet breakfast at P400 from 6am-10am. You can make a reservation in advance or you can just do walk-in since this place doesn’t get crowded everyday. They serve filipino and international cuisines.
Overall, I love how the staff checked on us from time to time, they were very nice, friendly and accommodating. I super love the place and food price is very affordable considering this beaut. I would definitely recommend this place.
See, you won’t need to go to super fancy restaurants to make someone happy, sometimes you just need to find the perfect place.
I must say, this is considered as a hidden gem in Vito Cruz Taft! ️

Located at the ground floor of Orchid Garden Cafe, where buffet breakfast is served. Rustic and comfortable ambiance. Food is average to above average. Good service.
