According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary, the word Bohemian means "a person (as a writer, artist, musician) living an unconventional life, often in the company of like-minded people".

So as I enter Bohemian Cafe, I couldn't help but to notice right away the absence on what the Bohemian lifestyle is supposed to feel. To me, it was just another average bar on Session Road. Drinks, food, your run of the mill acoustic cover band; in no way does the ambiance, whether it be decor, or crowd, screams unconventional. I might sound a bit harsh, but when I reflect on the word Bohemian, I envision gypsies, beatniks of the 1950's, and the hippies of the mid 1960's. With my expectations high, I was quickly brought back down by disappointment. Not only was I disappointed with it's atmosphere, I was also disappointed with their food and service.

Bohemian Cafe's menu is composed of your typical Filipino breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar chow. I'm not saying that food isn't decent, which by the way it is, but then again, it's mundane. The only dishes that look like it lives up to the name of this cafe are their desserts. Take for instance the photo shown above. That is their take on a crepe ala mode. But that's all it is, the look. As you see, there is no crepe at all. It's replaced by a gold-colored, cotton candy-like confection that does not come close to the taste of crepe. So that's that. I will give them an "A" for effort though.

To sum everything, I feel strongly that the ambiance of restaurants and bars should reflect on the names owners give them. The names of the establishments, of which are given by its owners (is) the product, and should be sold as such.

You, too would be disappointed if you were to buy a can of Coke and come to find out it's Pepsi, wouldn't you?

A cute looking cafe, tucked in one corner of Session rd. Decided to grab breakfast here and ordered their Tapa. Tasty but not a fan of the side veggies drizzled with Ketchup Mayo.

Friends ordered sisig and a chef's salad (big and yummy). A good selection in their menu :)

Plus points for their very accomodating servers plus free use of their mic even at 7am in the morning haha trip trip lang.
