My Sunday is usually a lazy one. We wake up late, enjoy family bonding at home, go to church and eat out for dinner or sometimes we opt to cook hearty dinner at home and go out for dessert and coffee. This Sunday, it was the latter. As we were looking for a dessert place that serves good coffee, I remembered that Cafe Breton was very near the church in Magallanes where we usually go. Honestly, I haven't had the chance to try Cafe Breton despite the numerous social media and blog posts about their outstanding crepes. That night was my chance and it was non-negotiable.

The place wasn't packed when we got there so we had the chance to get comfortable and choose our table. Giddy as a child, I checked their menu and had the daughter check it out too for her to choose what she wanted. We arrived at the same order - Le Magnifique! The description was too tempting and the picture of this crepe was the validation. Since you have the option to customize your order, I asked for an additional vanilla ice cream making it a la mode.

So, what's in it? Layers of thin crepe made into a rectangular pocket, filled with fresh bananas, topped with generous heaping of choco-hazelnut spread, whipped cream, almond slivers and the vanilla ice cream that I requested to be added. It was so good! The overall thickness of the crepe was just right. And how can you go wrong with the combination of banana and chocolate? It was perfect! It wasn't too sweet and every bite was indulgence. My daughter and I were not able to stop until we were half-way done. Then we remembered we ordered for spaghetti too.

We also liked their spaghetti. It was meaty and was kid friendly. It wasn't too sour nor too sweet. It had this homey flavor to it. The daughter enjoyed it and even used the bread slices to sweep the bowl clean.

Since we went here for coffee as well, I got myself their Cafe Mocha. It was served in a beautiful blue and white cup with saucer. Loved the simplicity of the frothy top with swirls of whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The coffee though was too sweet for my liking. I should have ordered for a latte instead.

Overall, we had a great time in Cafe Breton. Our glasses were always filled with water and some of the servers even took time to play and chit chat with my daughters. I fancied the colorful tiles on top of our table! Loved the ambiance too - warm lighting, chill music and great customer service - it was the perfect recipe for a relaxed cap off to a lazy weekend. Even though we stayed there for a little while after finishing our orders, the staff didn't mind. I'm really looking forward to spending more Sunday nights here. There's so much more to try! Savory crepes, next!

Inspiration hit me this morning so I did a really early (and lung busting) 15km run. My legs must have a mind of their own or they were as famished as my belly because I ended up very near another Cafe Breton. This is my 3rd review for Cafe Breton (different branches though) after a morning run (go figure!). I guess they were as inspired as I was and opened early too!

To replenish the spent calories, I went all out and had the Cherry Jubilee Flambe'. Cherry preserve, cinnamon, caramel ice cream and syrup plus rum flambe'. This was literally a "hot" breakfast!

Despite the caramel syrup and ice cream this dessert wasn't as sweet as I expected. Just right, I would say. In fact, focus was on the taste of the cherries. A hint of rum stayed even after the flambe' burned out. Nice balance of bitter and sweet, hot and cold.

I may just have to find a way to break this habit of running and Cafe Breton, or not!!! 128521

Not a lot of people probably know this, but Cafe Breton has really good and CHUNKY sandwiches at very good prices, < P200. The mozzarella burger doesn't disappoint. And because I love crepe, this is one of my default places for comfort food. These are my top picks for the dessert crepes,

- Butter and Sugar with Lemon, simple with a kick

- Tarzan, just the right combination of bananas and condensed milk that reminds me of Thai street pancakes

- Fantastic Pinay smothered with Nutella, and better top it off with vanilla ice cream

The beverages are on the expensive side though. I don't think brewed coffee should cost more than P100, anywhere.

Went to have lunch with my co-workers. Place was cozy and waiters were very accommodating.

What i got: galette bretonne, grape slush, a mango crepe dessert = no regrets! Super sarap! Sorry wasnt able to take a pic since i was starving!

My co-workers had galette don quixote and galette payannes (hungarian sausage) - see photo. It were all good too!

Third time here and we're not disappointed with our visit. I mentioned before that their burger is one of the best that I've tasted. Their patty is just different from most. The patty kind of fall aparts easily. It's juicy and a different kind of tasty. We also ordered the Sloppy Taco Dog (again). Yum 128523 And for something different, I ordered one of their ice cream selections. It was called the Peach Melba. But I told them that instead of peaches, I want mangoes with it. Might as well add a Mango Melba to their menu? 128522 It was a combination of mangoes, caramel ice cream, whipped cream, almond slivers, caramel and graham crackers at the bottom. Reminds me of mango float. They taste very similar but the 'Mango Melba' is like a premium level mango float. It was sooo good. I literally said the F word after one bite. You have to scoop the graham crackers at the bottom so that every spoonful has all the layers. Satisfied 128077

Finally tried this place. I was excited to try their crepes having read that theirs was 'the best'. But first, l'll start with their sandwiches.

Breton Mozarella Burger
★★★★★

It lacks a little bit of presentation but looks can be deceiving. I didn't think that it would taste good by the looks of it. Their patty is very different from those of Burger Bar or Brother's Burger. Obviously it's not 100% beef but I liked it better. It tasted like your grandma made it especially for you. It was juicy and yummy. One of the best if not the best :) The side salad complemented it too. I have no complaints but my boyfriend had difficulty eating it with his bare hands. I could easily eat it with a knife and fork but he wanted to eat it that way. His words were, "Para feel ko yung pagkain ng burger." And that's why he gave it a 4.5 rating. But it's my review so it's 5 stars for me.

Sloppy Taco Dog
★★★★☆

It was good. I can't think of anything else to say. I'm still hung up on the burger.

La Pinay
★★☆☆☆

Obviously I was disappointed. The mangoes were not that sweet. The crepe was almost tasteless. I'm comparing it with Crepes & Cream which is my #1 go-to crepe. If not for the ice cream on top, I'd give it one star.

Maybe I didn't like their crepes but I'll definitely go back for their sandwiches. 128516

Cafe Breton at Magallanes is the only branch that offers pizza. We ordered their pepperoni pizza (Php350), which includes a separate serving of alfalfa sprouts. The pizza's bread was really soft, you'd have to use both hands to hold it up. What we evetually did was cut the crust and set it aside. Then sandwiched the alfalfa sprouts between the remaining pizza.. And with the crust left, we ordered for cheese sauce and smothered it on top of the crust.. Yum!!!

For dessert, we had their butter & sugar crepe (Php88).. It's a simple dessert, but it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.

This place reminds me of spontaneous late night snacks and bonding with my mom. :)

I usually go here for dessert and crepe, but this time, since I havent had dinner yet, I ordered the Go Fish Sandwich. It was ok. There were only a few salmon slices, though. I also felt like eating ice cream so I had the Fruit Parfait after. It was too sweet.

After our dinner at Racks, I was bugging Michael Joseph V to head over to Greenbelt with me so I could finally satisfy my crepe craving. As we were driving away from the Paseo de Magallanes Complex, I happened to turn my head to the left. As I saw the familiar signage of Cafe Breton, my eyes widened! It felt like a sign from above that I was really supposed to go there and eat that day. 128151 I think my excitement got the better of me, though, because I shouted for the driver to stop the car without thinking about the consequences (like if another car was behind us, for one). 128560 Luckily we were the only ones on the move, so nothing happened. 128522

I decided to order their Original Sin crepe (as pictured), and my boyfriend ordered their Adam and Eve one plus a banana shake to help wash everything down. I preferred my order, as the caramel ice cream and light sprinkling of nuts added a new dimension to the usual apple-filled crepe. Since my boyfriend wanted his to be simple, he loved his order that had a hint of cinnamon and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. I guess what you will end up ordering here simply depends on your mood. They have a range of flavors that would be able to satisfy every kind of crepe lover, may it be sweet or savory. 128522

I actually prefer this branch, as it is more spacious and the acoustics seem better as compared to their Greenbelt one. We were able to have a more private conversation, which was what we needed after a long work day. 128522 As always, they have really great service (which is consistent in all their branches that I've ever been to). 128522 Our waiter was very attentive, and always had a smile on his face whenever he would approach to attend to our needs. We're definitely coming back. 128077

Apparently, there's a branch here. Now i know, i need to get past Starbucks here in Paseo. Nothing different from other Bretons, just that it's faster here. And seems like the owner is here so the waiters are on their toes.
