Going to Tagaytay on weekend, I was hard pressed to find a place with a good ambience and lots of peace and quiet. Good thing I chanced upon this place after my usual foray at the Mahogany Beef Market.

The place was probably an old residential house now converted into a quaint bed and breakfast and coffee shop. It has a nice garden with a small fountain, a swing, a nice lawn with trees and lots of flowers. A good place to take those selfies.

I ordered Batangas barako coffee. I am not sure if they put hazelnut flavoring in it but it was really good. Not too strong but it still had a lot of body in it. My wife ordered the Neopolitan Cheesecake which was a house specialty. It was a combo of chocolate mousse and cheesecake. My wife loved it but since I am not a big fan of cheesecakes, I just found it average. I had chicken pie which for me was one of the better ones I had. The crust was not to thick so it allowed a lot of filling in it. It was a bonus that the pie was served piping hot.

If you love to people watch this place is probably not for you but if you just wanna chill it out in Tagaytay while letting the heavy traffic pass you by, then this could be it for you.

What a happy surprise to find this quaint and cozy Cafe! We were on our way to a wedding at Antonio's when we decided to stop by somewhere for some coffee (since we were already late anyways). Also, it was such a hectic morning for hubby that he forgot his bag which had his vape and eyeglasses! We kinda needed to get our bearings 128518
Saw this place on the left side of the road and we decided to stop by there instead or the usual coffee shop or fast food. What a find! The Cafe looked like a house turned resto with a nicely sized garden and some outdoor seating too. Browsing through the menu, prices weren't bad as well. Got an iced latte (₱150) and a chicken pie (₱50) while hubby got their kapeng Barako. Server was nice and polite and we were the only ones there so yay for privacy hehe.
Our orders arrived quickly and my latte was really good! Didn't take a pic though cos it was in an ugly green glass 128514 the coffee also perked up hubby and we both enjoyed their chicken pie.
Can't wait to try their real food next time.

Pleasant place to have lunch during that short get away to Tagaytay. Service is good, ambience is homy. Food is great too.

Had the chance to shoot here at Cafe Carmencita and I instantly loved the place.

Firstly, the owner Ms.Kathlyn is very warm and hospitable. She showed the beauty of the house-turned-restaurant in Tagaytay. It seemed like an ancestral place with its wooden interiors, capiz windows and ancient pictures hanging on the walls. The 2nd floor is their house while the area in the first floor serves as the restaurant. Place is small yet very endearing with its positive aura.

Tried their Chicken Pie (Php50), Chocolate Turtle Cake (Php125 per slice), and Cheesecake (Php150) and they were all awesome! The chicken pie was stuffed with chicken and potatoes, very flavorful as well. The turtle cake was a bomb! Real good if partnered with coffee! The sweetness was average, not overly sweet. The cheesecake was also rich in flavor, again not too sweet yet very rich. All of the three are bestsellers.

They also serve main courses and they say that their beef stew is the bestseller. Would gladly go back to try.

It really is a lovely cafe.
Very clase to nature. No aircon, large windows and several doorway open to nature; lots of plants abound. I really am fascinated with the plant that creeps and sticks to the wall.

The servers were welcoming and sweet. Wooden tables and chairs. There are a couple of steel set dining area outside though. It ends there... 128542

We ordered beef stew, bulalo, caesar's and three greens salad.
Tge bulalo is too oily. The beef was really tough. The taste was above my normal saltiness. Plentous veggies were there the string beans were...

The beef stew was weird tasting. I think it has same broth used in the bulalo. They just made it thick and garlicy. Fries were added. Young corn. Carrots. String beans. And mind me. Three pieces of meat and bones. I thought i hot a precious meat when i examined it... It was a bone.
Really small serving we have to order two! And consistent sila ha... Hehe

The salads were good though. The caesar's salad was bacony. Really tasty. The three greens salad has pear, cashews and lemony vinaigrette dressing.

I tried their neapolitan cheesecake. It's baked. Oreo crust with strawberry-chocolate-new york cheesecake layers
I think they do better in desserts. Just a bit.
You could determine the flavors if you eat them intentionally seperately. Otherwise it kinda tasted the same. Those strawberry seeds though...

Hmm..meh. Maybe just coffee next time. For relaxation or a good time to talk intimately with somebody.

Aren't you tired of the usual coffee shop in Tagaytay? Me? Superb! so I really make sure that I won't visit the ever popular Coffee shop here in Tagaytay. You know what and WHERE I mean 128513

So I researched some coffee shops nearby and found this place. This is exactly where I would like to rest, have some cup of tea and a slice of cake.

The place is rustic and I super love the "feel at home ambiance" Its a residential place of the owner so obviously the place was really taken care off.

Yes. There's no view of taal but it will be compensated by their beautiful garden and peaceful ambiance. A perfect place to read book, talk or write.

I love their cake and tea. The place look really sosyal but the price is really affordable. 10084

Went to tagaytay to unwind. Was supposed to go to the very famous starbucks that has a cool location but when we got there, it was so crowded that we were turned off. So we decided to check this place out since it looks really home-y and was near where we were staying at. You wouldn't notice it right away since it really looks like a house. The place is great for photo op. It has that vintage feel.

The menu was limited but they serve real food too not just coffee and cakes. I ordered the hot chocolate which came in a cute little cup. It was rich and reminds me of champorado. Most of their coffee is below 100 but as ive said, pretty limited. I dont think they offer iced coffee or frappes yet. The serving size is a little too small or maybe thats just for the hot choco.

My friend got hungry for so he ordered mom's beef stew and it was surprisingly so good!! This time the serving size didnt disappoint. Didnt expect it to come in such a huge bowl since the lady said it was good for one person.

-they have wifi (starbucks dont)
-cute place
-cheap coffee
-food was 128077128077128077

-theres a pond thats why they were some mosquitos. They should buy some kois or something hehe
-limited choices for coffee
