Good food, and sadly, bad service.

What went well?
Food was delicious plus they have a generous amount of servings for both the side dishes and the meat. We ordered 3 sets of Samgyupsal and 2 sets of Mokdungsim (P300/set), and there were 5 of us who shared the food and expenses so yeah, price wise, I must say it was pretty affordable specially that we get to completely fill our hungry tummies. They also have Chosun sets that you can choose from if you wanted to try other varieties of meat as well.

What could be improved?
Their crews are unattentive and not very accomodating. They're almost ignoring us and prioritizing foreign or yung "mukhang mayaman" na customers. Although they will grill the meat for you, the girl who assisted us seems like she was just being dragged into doing it and even scolded me when I tried flipping the meat, she was like "Hindi pa pwede yan!", seriously? She could have told me that in a nicer and polite way. Seryoso guys her attitude was really off, thankfully, the food is good. Also, upon leaving the restaurant, NO ONE, not a single staff said "Thank you for coming!" or atleast a single "Thank you". Their customer service is really disappointing. 128530 I could have given them 5 stars but I really value a good customer service so I'm taking off 2 stars for now.

Overall, again, we liked the food and we'll probably dine-in again in the future, with the hopes that they'll be treating their customers better by then.

This is one of the best Korean restaurants I've visited in Manila. Their food is almost a perfect 5 as they have the best side dishes I've had so far. The one star off is due to the service. Staff was not that attentive to Filipino guests, and prioritizes Korean/foreign guests. Athough they grill your food for you, the staff who served us was cranky and even scolded one of my friends for trying to flip over the cooking meat. I'll definitely come back in the future and will expect a better service.

I forgot what set this was but this was the cheapest set at P850 that was good for 3 pax. Refillable sides, and the servers grill the food for you.

A bit pricey for me though considering the meat wasn't "unli" (Kpub has that at P550 at a certain time, and Don Day used to serve unlimited samgyupsal.) But the servings were more than enough to fill three extremely hungry tummies.

Good place to try some authentic Korean bbq.

they ordered the the chosun sets (pork and beef platter) and served/cooked it really fast. hmm, i did enjoyed the unlimited side dishes (again, except the spicy stuffs).

After sushi craving was satisfied, we were not too full yet so we decided to jump to Cafe Chosun, just a few steps from Nihon bashitei. So, what diet? Forget about that! We are stressed. Diet next time. Haha!

Again, Cafe Chosun got a lot of attention after Anthony Bourdain visited them when he was in Manila before. I said I will come back because of their sulit and quality meat choices and good customer service.

This visit, though, I noticed that the server assigned to us, a lady, was seem not in a very good mood. She was not too accommodating and used such a soft voice when the kulit me kept on asking questions about the stuff she was preparing for us. She must have some problem, I guess? Don’t bring that to work please.

The food made me forget the server’s mood, though! This time, since it was only my sister and I dining, I opted to order ala carte. One order of samgyeopsal (pork belly) and an order of galbisal (beef ribfinger). Again, they served us around eight kinds of side dishes, my favorite the steamed egg and fish cake, and the server started cooking our meal. I have to point out that they do not have service charge and they have this good service. 128077🏻

They also have good WiFi connection! Since it was raining, we opted to stay longer to wait for it to subside, so while doing so. I browsed some stuff in the net and theirs was stable enough to keep me busy 128512

Again part of my preparation for the coming Korea trip, we went to have some korean grill at Cafe Chosun with my friends who are big fans of Kpop food 128514

Cafe Chosun came to our mind because it's a fairly new restaurant in Pedro Gil, just a few steps from Robinsons Manila, and they gained a lot of attention lately after Anthony Bourdain went there to eat when he was in Malate. 128077🏻

Since there were three of us, it was fair that we got the Chosun Set 1, good for three persons, and cost just 850 pesos. It came with Samgyeopsal, Mokdungsim, and Hangjungsal. All in all 450 grams. We were really surprised when they started serving our set. Besides coming with the side dishes (kimchi, beansprouts, fish cake, baby potatoes, sweet camote, steamed egg, and Korean miso soup), the meat spread was really hefty! First problem we all had in mind was how to finish eating all of them. I have to also stress out that the free side dishes were also overflowing. Plus points to them for this! To those who are always confused about this Korean meat (like me), samgyeopsal is pork belly, mokdungsim is pork neck area, while hangjungsal is pork jowls. All the meat served at Cafe Chosun were of good quality.

I have to commend the friendly server assigned to us. He was very funny and he made sure all our meat for grilling were done right. 128077🏻

The service and quality of food made me want to come back! 128077🏻

Banchan could use more flavor but pwede na. I'm happy that they have eomuk bokkeum (stir-fried fish cake) as one of their side dishes (the empty plate on the right).

Overall, we went home satisfied with our Korean bbq dinner. We will definitely comeback for the quite satisfying food and good service.
