Yummy! But remember to ask for patis with calamansi (and sili, if you prefer). The bulalo needed a little more time to simmer. There's not enough bulalo flavor to it, but, the meat falls off the marrow. Crispy tawilis is worth ordering! If you're getting bulalo, skip the lechon kawali. You won't be able to appreciate the lechon kawali, you'll be busy enjoying the tawilis and bulalo. Order plain rice. The one we ordered was with taba ng talangka. I did not get that talangka flavor. a
All I remember is it's oily. It's like eating java rice that you get from the food court.

Craving for something simple and local, we chose Cafe de Bonifacio. The place was perfect for a quiet meal far from the usual Sunday mall crowd.

We chose food that our trusty househelp would cook on weekends if she did not take her day off. Sinigang na baboy, fried hito with ensaladang mangga.

I loved the sinigang. It had the perfect sourness and the veggies were still crispy. The pork had some taba which added to the linamnam of the soup. The hito was also ok except that I would have preferred it with less breading. The ensalada was a good kicker to the meal. With the mangga, kamatis, sibuyas and bagoong, you will never go wrong!

Butterflied Tilapia in Tamarind Sauce
P299 -- expensive for how simple this dish taste

Pinakbet Espesyal (good for 2)
P195 -- "pwede na" since serving size is good for 2

Simple Pinoy dishes which I find overpriced.

Two stars because of the serving of Orange chicken was not that generous.. Waiter told us that it was good for 2-3 persons. but when it came out its like putting a small box hot shots of kfc in the plate with some pieces of orange and sesame seeds. I think this serving is good for one considering that the price is about 200+. 128078 for the serving size

Crispy Pata - is just Normal.. i'll go for alex III instead of this one.
Bulalo - same. Nothing special
Pancit Espesyal - 128077 pancit with a twist
Pinakbet - 128077

Not my go back to restau...

One of my favorite Filipino restaurants! Food is good for sharing and is really yummy too! Must try: Laing, Crispy Tilapia, & the Sisig! Pair it with the lemongrass iced tea and you're all set!

If you're in the area and looking for some good Modern Filipino cuisine, this is the place to be. Located at the top floor near the escalator and looking a little bit small, you might not consider the resto. But you should.

Staff are always smiling and ready to serve anytime, dishes are good for sharing, price is reasonable, place is small but very intimate, and food is really good 128077

Ja and I tried the following:
✔️ fried tilapia ala ka Freddie
✔️ Laing
✔️ hubad na lumpia in cup crust

All were good and authentically Pinoy but served in a modern way. Will come back again soon 128077

PS: since it was 4.14.14, was feeling extra landi so surprised Ja with flowers. Apparently malas Ang 4 sa Chinese hahaha. But it was all good. She liked the surprise naman 128514

Wow sa presyo wow sa lasa. Very rare do i see cheap and tasty come together and this is one of those places.

Came in late so i just dove right away on to what was ordered. Initially i was saying yeah its good. Tasty and "bakit parang lahat may liempo sa ibabaw". But then just when i saw the bill that i saw the fifth star hehe. Its relatively cheap considering the serving is really generous.

A lot was ordered and didnt have time to look what they are called on the menu:

Chicken Adobo - 127775127775127775127775127775
Lanka w/ gata - 127775127775127775127775127775
Tawilis (its fish) - 127775127775127775127775
Bulalo - 127775127775127775127775
Spicy pork tofu - 127775127775127775
Breaded Fish fillet - 127775127775127775127775
Lomi - 127775127775127775127775
Super fried rice (on pic) - this i ordered, its their version of aligue rice daw. But there is liempo on top again. It puzzles me why there is liempo on top even with the other tables that i could see. 127775127775127775127775127775

We all had drinks and our bill is just 2k , for 7pax dami pang takeout very sulit.

Service - 5/5 free pastillias is always a perfect 5 hehehe

Ambience - 4/5
Value - 5/5

Thanks to looloo reviewers, I had a good experience at Cafe de Bonifacio especially since it's the first time I've eaten here!

The kropek with pesto-flavored sauce na may oil (haha idk what to call it exactly) was a good appetizer aka first impression! Esp since they gave us 4 bowls before our meals arrived. To be fair, we were eating at it like crazy so if you take that as an interpretation of how long they cook their food, at least they do something about it to keep our attention away from our grumbling stomachs. We ordered laing (the best!), binagoongang bagnet (pwede na), crispy hito (best with vinaigrette!) and kaldereta (nothing special..). It was a bit pricey though so unless it's a very special occasion, I don't think I'll be coming back to this place again.

I suggest you take advantage of the unlimited appetizer. It can make all the difference if you're feeling that the food is too expensive. :)

Always frequented this place, when craving for a unique twist in Filipino dishes. For this time around, I tried their Chicken Orange --and wow! Tastebuds had a fiesta (haha!). For someone who's not really fond of this particular tangerine, this dish sure gave me a delight! 128525

(September 12, 2013 - Thursday)

Pinoy food at its finest! 128525

We had a snack meeting with Sir Fred, owner of Cafe de Bonifacio, that went great plus left us super full and happy. He is super nice too! 128076

Chef Ojie Reloj, former Chef Instructor at CCA and currently endorser of Ideal Pasta, developed most of the dishes for them. 128104

We had their:

Pancit Espesyal - saucy complete with scrambled egg, sausage and other veggies.

Adobo Roti - almost like humba with its flaky flavor combination of sweet and salty wrapped in a roti.

Pastillas - yummy and milky worth P75 per box.

Ginumis - looks like a halo halo but the taste is soooo ginumis ("labo" - haha), you must really try this one!

I will definitely go back and tag boyfie along. 128107

Special mention: Sir Fred was all eager and proud to tell us that LooLoo visited, he specifically mentioned Roegan T! Hehe. 128583

Great service. Smiling staff, very accomodating 128512 Though the food was so so, nothing really special. Or maybe, just maybe bad choice of ordered food.

128077 Good news here is we loved their complimentary kropek with pesto dip 128540 We just had to ask for another round.

My bf really appreciates a great service so he gave a bigger tip 128521

Tried this resto yesterday lunch time. Ordered laing with pork and pork sisig. Both are delicoius but I really liked the laing. The gata was just right and the laing was not that spicy.

We've always frequented this place, famous for its version of bagnet, lumpia, pinakbet and fried tilapia in tamarind sauce. Today, my balikbayan friend and I had lunch here and we ordered sinigang na baka and bicol express. We especially liked how sour the sinigang soup is and the beef is cooked tenderly. We didn't get to have the full taste of bicol express since the sinigang is more thane enough for the two of us. Tip: serving is mostly good for 2-3 persons.

And oh! Don't forget to try their ginumis - perfect desert specially this summer!
