My brother treated us here for his bday celebration and was very happy about the food. Cafe Juanita is one of the mainstay in Kapitolyo foodscene and definitely one of the best filipino food. The place got a spacious parking space but still tend to be full due to their popularity. Entering this place is like a entering a fortune teller house. The colorful interior, display and lights are very eyepleasing. I love how each piece of display blends well with each other. Nice work!

For the food they serve asian cuisine but mostly pinoy food. I love every single thing my brother ordered but here what stood out for me. First the Kare Kare was so good. The creamy peanut sauce and tender meat was spot on! The crispy pata was also perfect. The uber cripsy skin was sinfully good while the meat was so soft. The okoy was also one of my fave since I seldom got to eat okoy. The Ratoutille (not sure of the spelling) was like an ensalada. I love the fresh veggie of this meal. The dinuguan was also good but just a little fatty on the meat. The salmon sinigang was also refreshing good.

Overall this place is must try in Kapitolyo foodscene. 128522

While waiting for my wife, I decided to drop by Juanitas for some coffee and dessert. Instead of their best selling bibingka, I opted for the palitaw. It was not what I expected. From the usual rice cake dipped in sugar, coconut and linga, the palitaw looked liked fishballs swimming in sweet syrup. My verdict: I still prefer the traditional recipe. Next time I will stick to the bibingka.

We stopped by for merienda and most of them ordered lugaw which they loved although they say that its a bit pricey. Their siomai is also good!

Their hot chocolate is the best! 128077🏼128077🏼128077🏼128077🏼

For my second time in Cafe Juanita, we celebrated another birthday. This time, a friend's. What I love about this restaurant is their interior decoration. It's the complete opposite of minimalism. It's colorful, quirky, and packed.

We ordered Kare-Kare, Sinigang na Corned Beef and Calamares. Loved it all especially Kare-Kare. Service was superb as always.

Still one of the best in local and Asian fusion cuisine. Too bad though that our favorite corned beef sinigang was out of stock. According to the dining staff the owner is in the US shopping for an ingredient for the sinigang. Sosyal ha! Sinigang with imported ingredients.

Anyways, I loved the okoy. Crispy salty and sweetish with a blend of spicy sourness from the sawsawan. I highly recommend this appetizer. The callos was also good. Its my wife's favorite actually. Chewy and tender with great flavor. Sarsa pa lang ulam na. Finally the crispy tanigue deep fried to perfection served with hilaw na mangga and bagoong. Even meat lovers would love this.

For dessert nothing beats the heavenly taste of the cassava cake which in my opinion is the best I have ever tried.

Come here for the ambience but don't expect good food.

My chicken with mozzarella was bland. Like, where is the cheese? I know I can make a better version of this on my first try.

Their beef caldereta was salty and dry.

Their coffee is comparable to water with a dash of coffee and bad quality milk. Both their cappuccino and café au lait tasted disgusting.

Service was BAD. To think my grandma is a regular here. I had to ask n times for the bill, the desserts took forever to be served like hello how hard is it to serve prepared desserts like cheesecake and leche flan? On the other hand, their flan was good. Sticky toffee pudding was mediocre. "Fresh" fruit platter took forever to be served. Really?

It's sad that their service and food quality is slowly deteriorating.

Overall, I wouldn't come here if it wasn't free.

Adios! 128111

I still think that Cafe Juanita is among the most interesting gastropubs offering Filipino Cuisines in Kapitolyo. It feels like dining in a jewelry box with all the glitz and glam scattered all over the place. Yes, with so much going on, it definitely gets overwhelming at first but trust me, you'll get used to it128513

Foodwise, everything is spot on. Foods hit your table with class appealing both to the eyes and the appetite. I love their Tinuktok, an interesting mix of buko and crabmeat wrapped in taro leaves and cooked with coconut milk. Ginger and chili were also added to spice up the flavor. It is almost like a levelled up laing that brags that distinct crab flavor with a kick of spiciness.

Named as among their specialties, Kare-Kare is another must try. It's perfectly seasoned and perhaps the best I've tried from across the metro.

In general, foods here are a bit pricey but I ain't complaining because I am pleased with my whole dining experience9786

So apparently, everything they say about this place is true.
The food is good, cheap and the ambiance is just perfect.
We ordered their Lamb Caldereta, Special Dinuguan, Salmon Belly in Miso Sinigang and Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

I love Cafe Juanita and I think its a forerunner together with Locavore and XO Bistro Filipino if you're looking for Pinoy Food. Went back tonight because my stomach keeps hankering for delicious Kare-Kare.

The place is like a salad bowl of mix asian and some western dishes. They also translated this to their setting. Looks unkempt but in a nice way. I love the voodoo feel haha because of the statues and a collection of fabrics.

So I got there Kare-Kare and had their Bagnet. The service was slow and I had to check back with them twice. Expediter ata ako dito. Their service needs improvement because for the 3rd time, their food did not fail me. Their Ox tail and tripes were cooked well and very tender. The sauce was thick and the veggies were fresh. I did not expect their bagnet to be served on tomato salad and bagoong Balayan. It worked really well with the crisp bagnet and it became one of my favorite dish next to Kare-Kare in an instant.

I ordered Sticky Toffee Pudding and I had to follow up twice. The server forgot about it and I had to ask another one to have my dessert made. It's still as good as the first and second time I tried it. There's no question why this has been tagged as Cafe Juanita's signature dessert.

I really hope they work on their customer service. Sayang! Food is really good.

I love it when our boss is on vacation! It gives us a chance to have lunch outside of the office, and no one will look for us even if we’re gone for 2 hours. Hahaha!128540

We took the chance and went to Café Juanita as one of our officemates really wanted to eat there. I’ve been to their BGC branch years ago and I did not like it. It was just ordinary Filipino food, but the quirky interiors were really pleasing to the eyes. I also don’t get what cuisine they really serve as they offer dishes from Asia and some western dishes as well.

Well, they said that the original branch in Kapitolyo is so much better than BGC, but for me, there was nothing special about their food. I only liked about 2 dishes, at most.

We had the following:

· Adobong Baby Squid

· Fresh Corned Beef Sinigang

· Beef & Pork Pochero

· Three-Way Pork Adobo

· Laing

· Paella Valenciana

· Lapu-lapu with Tamarind Sauce

· Cassava Cake

· Rum Cake

The only ones I liked were the Fresh Corned Beef Sinigang, and their Cassava Cake. I like how they ask you first if the broth is sour enough for you. The corned beef was tender, the veggies were fresh. The cassava cake was surprisingly really good. I’m not a fan of cassava cakes, but I found myself reaching for it more than my rum cake order, which was really bad.

The pork adobo was okay, but I still prefer my mom’s adobo.

Their paella is fake. Hahaha! Seriously, it wasn’t cooked right and did not taste like paella at all. The laing was a bit bitter; the tamarind sauce of the lapu-lapu was really ughhh.128530

Cute interiors, but you can’t make me go back just for that reason. I’d rather dine in a restaurant that’s poorly designed but serves really good food.128129🏻

Would have given this a 2, since the servers were a bit masungit at first, but bumawi naman towards the end of the meal. 2.5 at most, rounding it up to 3 stars.

Meditteranean motif of a housetaurant. Filipino dishes were served and the authenticity of the taste was preserved. The chandeliers makes the place more appealing. Food was cooked deliciously but the downside was the serving size. Pricey for a small bowl of a viand. 6 persons requires atleast 4 dishes on the table. Thus, a good place for two pax in a date.

Café Juanita surely knows how hit the spot!

I enjoyed their Filipino dishes such as Lechon Kawali, Tuna Sisig, Tapa, Danggit and many more! Super solid because for a reasonable price, you'll be stuffed with pure goodness!

The place is cozy and well air-conditioned too! We even dined with Mr. Sandy Daza! He said the food was great too!

Oh I will definitely come back for more halo-halo! The caramel flan's to die for!

*You might ask why four stars? Well, it's because they have a small parking space.

Forever in love with their interior. I love how everything is in disarray yet the ambience is still romantic. The pianist playing old love songs adds to that as well. It's the perfect place to go out with the one or just have dinner with friends and family.

Everytime we go here,we always order the Corned Beef Sinigang and Sticky Toffee Pudding! 128149

What I'm going to say?

Uhm... The food was delicious... Very Filipino cuisine... Quite filipiniana motif
The housetaurant was pleasant it's like I'm in grandma's house... So many burloloy old stuffs but actually cute... There's a lot of tea cups and chandeliers possessions. I love the place. Plenty of Chinese dolls... Definitely going back! The price is quite expensive but the food has quality... 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻

The classic and one of the oldest restos in Kapitolyo. I just so remember when I was a kid, it was just a walking distance from our place. The ambiance is also classic and feels like I was in a museum because of their antique furnitures. What caught my attention also is the grand piano and large jars which is kinda creepy lol.

Their foods was like "lutong bahay", I was hoping for something special. The foods were just okay. It just an average ordinary Filipino dishes for me. Servings were also small.

Prices are expensive for that kind of quality of foods. What I just like is their place. Nothin' more, nothin' less.

Went here for dinner with my foodie colleague, Carlo R about few weeks ago. We were supposed to eat somewhere else in Kapitolyo but it's the only place that's not really packed that night.

The place is definitely a catch! Each corner you can spot some decors, paintings and a lot of oriental stuff. There's also a piano near the front door where everyone can play some pieces if they want to.

We had Baby Squid Adobo, Pasta Filipina and tried their Bagnet.

Bagnet - This ain't really bagnet but more of like lechon kawali. Both have almost the same identity except that bagnet was more crispy than lechon kawali. It was mixed with tomatoes and veggies that was not an ideal choice, at least for my taste.

Pasta Filipina - I tried this on my first visit at their BGC branch and liked it soooo much. It's a pasta dish made from taba ng talangka and angel hair pasta that resembles the taste of palabok. I was kind of expecting something but was a little disappointed by its taste. My friend seemed to like it though.

Baby Squid Adobo - This is definitely our most favorite dish that night! Tender baby squids drowning in adobo sauce with squid ink. This is definitely my favorite among anything we got!

We had mixed feelings towards everything and find it okay. I don't know if I'm expecting too much after my first visit at the BGC branch, or what. But at least, I learned a lesson that expecting too much may break your heart! 128148128148128148
