Situated at the beautiful place called Calle Crisologo (minus the 128014128169 smell 128514)

Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside 128150 Their Vigan Express is also highly recommended. 128076🏻

I love cafe leonas diverse menu. They nit only serve ilocano favourites; but also japanese, italian, and american dishes. We had the wbi tempura, mozzarela cheese sticks, pork sisig, and four cheese pizza.

Everything we had was good except for the pork sisig. It had too much ginger and bellpepper-two thinga iont really expect to find in sisig.

The pizza is baked in a brick oven which makes it really crisp. The ebi tempura is fresh and fried properly.

This place is a must visit when you find yourself in vigan.

Cafe Leona was our restaurant of choice for dinner in Vigan. We actually surveyed the place, went to the plaza where a lot of restaurants where available from fast food to hotels to local ones. As we tirelessly walk, we reached the other end of Calle Crisologo and I spotted Cafe Leona. It was one of those highly recommended restaurants in the area. I took my chances because the restaurant was packed and we were 10th on the waiting list. I asked hubby to scout the place for another restaurant and just settle where we can order and eat right away. But then again i was secretly praying to the food gods to let us try Cafe Leona because that was my only chance. Good thing those that were ahead of us in the list weren't so patient so we ended up getting a table sooner.

When we got inside, the restaurant looked so dirty probably because it was old or was sporting an old vibe but in reality, it was clean! It was a little dim inside, low ceiling, antique feel with tables and chairs rendering old designs. We were with my in-laws and hubby's siblings during this trip so we got to sample quite a lot of dishes. We had the following --

Bagnet (250Php per order) - this is one of the most popular dishes in Ilocos and what is a trip to this land without trying the authentic? We got two orders of this because believe me, one order can easily be inhaled by one hungry fellow. It was served with slices of tomatoes with onions and alamang isda (not sure if that's what it's called but this is the brown colored one with small fish in it usually found in Pangasinan)! I never thought that tomatoes with alamang isda will work more so dipping Bagnet into it. Bagnet for me is best dipped in vinegar but this style worked perfectly fine! I loved that the Bagnet pieces had soft meat but with crunchy skin! Loved the saltiness and the added saltiness from the tomato dip. This totally changed the way I'll eat Bagnet moving forward.

Vigan Longaniza (135Php for about 6 pieces) - what is a trip to Vigan without trying the authentic Vigan Longaniza? Believe me, they taste so differently from those that we get in Supermarkets here in Manila. These small bombs were garlicky and a little sour. They were tasty and you'll get hooked!

Pinakbet (160php) - a signature Ilocano dish, we will not pass trying the authentic. A mixture of veggies with string beans, egg plant, tomatoes and sigarilyas in alamang isda sauce. I love veggies so this was a hit for me. The veggies were cooked just right, still crisp at some point. Loved the salty sauce as well.

Vigan Express (180php) - another veggie dish but this time this one had chunks of crispy Bagnet! The dish was spicy, really spicy. Channeling Bicol Express, it was a mix of carrots, bell peppers, string beans, fried tofu cubes and bagnet in a coconut milk sauce (gata). Sarap din!

Feeling YOLO that night, I ordered yet another dish with Bagnet - Bagnet KBL Pizza! Thin crust pizza, nothing special with the crust coz it's the frozen type, with tomato sauce as base, topped with generous chopped bagnet, fresh tomatoes, bagoong, onions and mozzarella cheese. It was good. Weird ingredients in a pizza but they worked well together! It was salty with some notes of sweetness and the Bagnet - oh heavenly!

Cafe Leona definitely offers good Ilocano food and I think it's one of the best place to checkout if you wanna sample local favorites.

Taking off 1 star though because of the service. It took them a long time to serve our orders and it was so hard to get the attention of the staff.

Ordered dinengdeng and longganisa. Both were tasty especially the latter, which is more garlic-ky... However I find all of our orders a bit pricey. (Including tilapia and pinakbet) It was too much for those simple orders. The service was not that good as well. No one was attending to you as soon as you enter. You have to go to the staff to order. A bit disappointed.

So happy we enjoyed our first dinner in the North. We were also very hungry when we got there and I’m glad we were not disappointed with the food. Overall, I rate food taste/quality and service four stars. It was a really pleasant dining experience. Plus, the dishes are very affordable; our total bill was below Php 500.

If you love hot chocolate, their version is a must-try! It's served in a tiny cup though, but only for Php 50. Loved their pancit and crunchy tapa too!

We sampled the best Ilocano gastronomy in Café Leona, a small restaurant and coffee shop in Crisologo Street. The interiors kept up with the old antique feel of the whole town. It is low-ceilinged, soft lighting, with old wooden chairs and tables. The buffet area was placed opposite a wall bedecked with old bottles of liquor.

When ordering you can either pick from their menu or choose from any of the food served on the buffet. When we went there for lunch we had roasted chicken, seaweed salad, bagnet, and squid salad. I have not committed to memory how each meal was priced but I think they were roughly about PHP 100-300 ($2.12- 6.37).

Every food that we ordered was a delight especially the famous Vigan bagnet. According to one of the locals though, you will find the best tasting, freshly cooked bagnet from the public market along with the equally well-known Vigan longganisa.

Service was not that good but I loved the food. I fell in love with their bagnet and pinakbet. Sisig and sinigang were okay. The ambiance was good, too.

It was a rainy evening at Vigan, boyfriend and I were looking for a nice place to dine in. Fortunately, we get to drop by Cafe Leona. We are lucky enough that the place is not jampacked. So we get the romantic vibe at that time. Food served were of course, Ilocano dishes with Italian and Japanese fusion. We got to taste their Longganiza Pizza and it was good! The dough is freshly-made. We paired it with cappucino for me and beer for him. We loved that moment. 128525128076

The first stop in Vigan. Went here for dinner after that really long long drive from Dagupan.

The ambiance jives with what the place symbolizes, we were seated outside on the streets under the lights they set up.

You have to try the Vigan longanisa of course, the waiter suggested that we try the pancit as well. We had grilled pork and squid they were grilling there.

Unfortunately, the place is historic for Vigan but the food isn't that good. It's as if you ate just so since you need to.

Ate there to scratch a place off the bucket list, came out disappointed.

The only way to make up for their below average customer service is the food and the location (which is a plus due to the place being historical).

The moment we entered this resto no one entertained us. And no crews were roaming near the door. We waited like 3mins, still no one came and approahed us. We decided to sit on the vacant table nearby. We waited for 2min more and then we saw someone, we asked for the menu.

After deciding what to order, still crews were so busy. What we did, we went to the front were foods presented and picked our order.

Well, they had a lot of customers but luckily the food arrived after 3-5minutes.

Foods were tasty and good. I cannot deny that but the service at this place was so poor.

Not a fan of maki, but I tried longganisa maki and it taste good. Not so sweet, the mayo and the sauce goes together... It incorporates local culture of Vigan to a world class dish. Must try this if you happen to visit Vigan.

Finally! I had the chance to experienced the ever famous cafe leona of Vigan City! 128576

Located along calle crisologo; The heart of Vigan City and the place where you can walk back to history. An old house of leona florentino is now A busy tourist spot for people who are craving for the taste of ilocano dishes. Surprisingly, they have a wide selection of Japanese and italian food. 127829127857

Inside the cafe gave me a mixture of impressions. I felt like entering an old dungeon because of the arch dividing the area. Its super cold and dim inside. Tables are not well prepared. The place is boring. Found Few decorations. Something is missing. It lacks class. 128076

After reading few reviews. I believe I would never go wrong with their pizza. We ordered TUTTA CARNE (all meat) its a brick oven made pizza. Reminds me of Gino's pizza. It was really good. Super tasty. Perfect texture. Made me believe that brick oven is the best way to cook pizza. 128077 their pasta is so-so nothing special.

I understand that their serviced was a bit slow. Grabe din naman kasi yung dami ng tao. We are even on the waiting list.

still a must try place to vigan. Just 411088110881108811088️ simply because Im not impressed with the place. 128529

We ordered the following:
1. Bagnet - cooked very well good for sharing
2. Pork BBQ - Normal BBQ we order on street
3. Squid BBQ - good because it is stuffed and served with basi and enselada
4. Fettucini carnonara - A bit salty low rate
5. Pakbet - this is frustrating as the veggies are not fresh
6. Iced tea tower is expensive.

All orders are good for sharing they will tell you that it is only good for 2.
