As soon as you enter the lobby of the La Maja Rica Hotel in Tarlac City, Cafe Maja Rica will greet you. It's located just beside their swimming pool, al fresco style, with a function room at the side. We wanted to get some dinner here but the menu was boring.

They've got an assortment of cuisine - Filipino, Chinese, Italian, a little of Thai and American. Nothing looked enticing and the dishes were not described at all. Though prices were cheap when compared to the restaurants in Manila, my friend from Tarlac said that they're expensive and serving was little. You'll get a single serve pasta like Pesto with Shrimps for around 150php.

Since we were still waiting for someone, we decided to get some drinks first. We were at the pool side and it was so hot and humid! Their function room was occupied for an event. 128548 I got their Watermelon Shake and of course you can't go wrong with this - fresh watermelon blended with ice and sugar. Viola! Instant refreshment. I also tried their Strawberry and Banana Fruitshake. I didn't like it! They used Strawberry Jam! What the?!? Strawberry Jam, fresh bananas, ice and milk. Gah! It was too sweet 128527

We didn't really get to eat dinner there. We opted to go somewhere else as soon as our friend arrived 128556
