Was stranded last Thursday night in Makati due to sudden downpour that caused floods near my workplace. It's really hard to commute that time so I decided to just go somewhere for dinner. I was really hungry then so I opted to check the restaurants in Greenbelt 2, and settled here in Mary Grace!

I tried Valencia Hot Chocolate and the Grilled Chicken Couscous. Serving time was quite long. More than 20 minutes for the hot chocolate and another 10 minutes for the pasta. Too long for someone that's already hungry, and dude, that's already 9:30pm! 128530128530128530

Valencia Hot Chocolate was good! Thick, creamy and rich chocolate with orange on it for a higher level of experience. Didn't know that I'd like this one.

Grilled Chicken Couscous was surprisingly good! Couscous is said to be the smallest form of pasta but it's not. It's a dish of small steamed balls of semolina, and are usually in round pieces originated in North Africa. Thanks, Merriam-Webster! 128518 It actually acts as the rice in the dish. It also has some string beans and raisins, which is quite a weird combination, but it's actually good! And of course, I ordered for this because of the grilled chicken which I didn't regret because it's juicy and topped with creamy tomato sauce!

I only had a photo of the hot chocolate because I was really hungry and had no time to find the best angle to get a shot of the dish.

-1 star for the long waiting time.

I love everything about this Resto.. I had a homey feel, fast service, good food, and great ambiance.. Today I went here for a late lunch.. (4pm) is lunch ) and I ordered their sandwich for the first time...
I had Vigan Chorizo with Kesong Puti Sandwich and it was really good! 128518128518128518 the bread was fresh, and the Chorizo and Kesong Puti combo was perfect! I think I'll try the other sandwiches next time.

Mary Grace's Prawn Salad in Mango-Papaya vinaigrette can convert the carnivore in me to be a vegetarian! 128569 it is soooo good!!! 100841008410084️ however I noticed that MG is not consistent with their serving. I tried this salad also at their Serendra and TriNoMa branches, unfortunately the servings there are noticeably smaller compared to the one I had now at Greenbelt. Still much love to this food 10084

I work in the south so I often have small reunions and get-togethers in Makati since it’s usually a middle ground for everyone involved. Our restaurant of choice was Mary Grace since half of us wanted to eat a salad while the other half wanted pasta. I usually go to Mary Grace for a heavy dinner but yesterday was different because my officemate celebrated her birthday by force-feeding us spaghetti and cake. So on my way to Makati, I knew I was going to order something outside of my go-to dishes which were usually meals I ate when I was really hungry. Once handed the menu, I quickly flipped the pages to the sandwiches portion. Since I felt like being healthy that day, I got the Vegetables on Focaccia Sandwich. It was obvious to our group that it was the first time I ordered this dish because I asked the waitress to pronounce my order for me. Ha! Learnings. Haha I’m working on my English don’t worry! Focaccia. Haha (Don’t judge me! Hahaha)

I liked the dish, especially the texture of the zucchini and the oyster mushrooms. Although, I found the amount of balsamic and vinegar oil they put on the dish may have been slightly over the perfect level for me. But I still liked it very much. It was served with chips and a dip which was I wasn’t aware was part of the dish and so it was a pleasant surprise.

Our server, Maine (If I remember correctly), was very courteous and jolly. In one of my past reviews for a different Mary Grace branch, I commended management for coming up with the temporary receipts. This innovation minimized the processing time for people by eliminating the possible feedback loop for the check. But, this was the first branch which the server explained to us what the temporary receipt was for, even though it’s written on the small note they hand out with the receipt, it’s a nice practice to explicitly say what it is for. The only issue I had with this particular visit was that there was this staff member (not Maine, she was lovely) who was cleaning (mopping) the air ducts (?) in the ceiling. These air ducts were directly above some customers, but still the staff member proceeded to clean them while customers ate. It was quite unsettling. Fortunately we didn’t have a duct above us but I was worried for the other customers. Other than that though, excellent visit.

That’s it for now. Take care everyone. Happy weekend!

Pardon the photo, as it was haphazardly taken because I was famished after a workout.

Dropped by Café Mary Grace for a *healthier* choice and also because I missed their Grilled Chicken Couscous. 128513 It's still one of my favorite go-to dishes here, although the cook on the chicken today was quite dry.

Although I tried to be healthy, I couldn't resist a slice of cake... 128584 So I got a slice of Limone Santi! 10084️ Yumyum!!! Definitely a good sweet and tangy dessert!

I dined alone so I managed to have time to take in all the decor in this branch and I would have to say I'm in love with their light fixture inside!!! 128525 I was too shy to take a photo but they had moving metal birds hanging with the lights! I couldn't help but just stare at it! Hihi 128586

This white onion dip was pretty good! The plating looked like a giant pale flower. My friend and I shared an order of their carbonara which they split for us.

We got 2 lemon squares for dessert which is the first time I've ordered one here. What a disappointment! It was the tiniest lemon square I've ever eaten, about an inch in diameter. I've never seen lemon squares that small. Plus it lacked that sour flavor and the crumbly shortbread crust which I love. I thought it was so sulit for 25 pesos, not.

This is one of the biggest branches of Mary Grace. We usually go here only for after dinner dessert so we're usually lucky enough not to have to wait for a table.

Last time we came here was last December. I wrote on their comment card that my favorite black velvet has less frosting now than it originally did. The last time I dined in any Mary Grace cafe before December was maybe more than a year ago. They've increase their prices already.

Place was full and crowded on a Monday night. Heard it right?! As in Monday? Glad our friend phoned them for a reservation.

We stayed on the 2nd floor and really liked the ambiance. How cool and cozy it was! Liked how the customers note was on the table so you could read it while waiting for your orders. There were also pictures for memories for those who dined in. I took a photo of their lights as I kept on looking at them and wanted them to hang in my own ceiling. Haha!

I ordered the salmon pasta while hubby got the meatballs tomato pasta. We both finished it and satisfied. Our friends ordered also a pizza. Too bad I was already full that no more space for desserts. But definitely will come back to try their cakes. 128522

Forever favorite 100841008410084️ I always order the Vongole or Chorizo Pasta. From starters to desserts, everything is always perfect. I'm not gonna even try to list them down, there's too many, anything I order there is always a lovely hearty meal.

Yesterday I was there with a friend, we stayed outside for lunch, it was perfect because it was raining steadily so the weather was cool, and I just love their interiors and decors. The ambiance is always warm and cozy. Always a good place to dine with good friends.

And I have to note their restroom is very...peaceful and calming. Haha

This place is often full and crowded, and most of the time, their service is disappointing. We experienced it firsthand last month when we had lunch. Julie J. volunteered to go early to reserve a table for us. But their staff won't let them in and allow them to occupy the second floor until it's 12 noon. Whuut? They made her and other customers wait.

Kirby G. and I arrived next and the three of us placed our orders already. Few minutes later, their wait staff comes back and handed us a temporary receipt so we can double check our orders and advised us that serving time is 20 minutes. About ten minutes later, Dastine S. and some officemates followed and when they placed their orders, their staff replaced the receipt after she included the additional orders. More than 30 minutes has passed and our orders weren’t served yet. We followed up and the waiter checked the paper and said, “Ma’am wala pa pong 20 minutes.” This pissed us off. Of course the time written on the receipt was the time Dast placed their orders, which was ten minutes later than ours. Ugh, HIGH BLOOD.

Our one hour lunch break was almost over when the food arrived. I ordered a Fili Beef Sandwich with chips. The beef was lean but the baguette was tough and hard to chew. I
should have ordered a Vongole Pasta. Yina M's chicken inasal was undercooked. She was too hungry to even bother returning it coz that’ll mean she’ll have to wait long again.

I wish they'll improve their slow, sucky service. 128530

I love the layered taste of this pasta! I taste the sweetness of the tomato, the sharpness of the olives and a hint of tuyo. At P278, the serving is good for one if you're really hungry and good for two...if you have just the tiniest stomach. Haha

I had a Mary Grace overdose during December 128541 i think because it has this homey feeling that makes me want to dine here.

This time around, I was killing some time while waiting for my mom. Since I was full from lunch, I decided to have some tea (berries) and lemon squares - perfect for cleansing the palate!

I prefer Tea Republic's lemon squares but Mary Grace's quite good already 9786

So we ate here last Dec 1st. Yeah, i know Iate post but it's better late than never so they say. Haha
I met my long time friend which is like my older brother from another mother. Childhood friends i can say way back when we are back in San Juan City.

We ordered the plates which consist of salad, pasta and with dessert of the day.

Well first up, the soups we ordered Mushroom and Squash soup-- just added 80pesos for the soups that comes with plates we ordered. I ordered the mushroom but ended up with squash instead because i liked it more. It's weird at first but it's more yummy than the usual mushroom soup. Don't get me wrong but the mushroom soup tastes good but since i tasted it before i go with the squash and then my friend got the mushroom soup. I know what you are thnking, I'm spoiled when it comes to him. Haha

Then comes our plates i ordered the Leek n Safron Plate which consist of like a madarin salad with vinegarret and the pasta is with salmon. I liked it at first, well the salad yes i finished it but for the pasta I didn't finished it and exchange it with my friends pasta. Haha (Medyo naumay lang ako sa huli kasi parang medyo malansa na).

Picture shown above is the plate of my friend/brother. Chorizo plate. I didn't taste his salad, coz i already have mine but he said he is not a salad guy but he liked what he had which has a tomato as dip, i think. For the pasta it's also chorizo and i finished it for him after we exchanged pasta. That's how close we are. 128516

We also ordered Sangria in a pticher for both of us. It's like fresh fruits pop in the pticher. We needed to add up ice and let it stay there before we can drink because it is really pure. I love it.

And for desserts, we had tiramisu slice and black velvet cake. I like both of them but mostly i think i like more the black velvet because it's not that sweet. I almost finished it forgetting about the tiramisu. Hehe

Overall, i loved my experince here. It doesn't fail to awe me always. The desserts, the ambiance and the staff. Just the way i like it.

I should say this branch of Mary Grace in Makati i like to be in all the time. Bias much. I know. 128077128540128522

Manila's answer to Dumaguete's Sans Rival. This is a better alternative when you are craving for some buttery frozen cake goodness.

Dinner with colleagues and surprise cake for the nov celebrants Joanna and Maine. Here's the twist, we invited them for dinner (after being so busy this past few weeks, we need a break), that's my alibi. Best actress award goes to.... hahaha! They have no idea what will happen next.

The first thing that we do is to order the Chocolate Mousse cake.

Then we ordered, Mary Grace Mushroom Cream, Fresh Tomato & Herb Pasta, Pasta Ametriciana w/ Italian Meatballs and Chorizo Plate.
Pasta is the best + the combo of the garlic bread, ooooh so yummy. 128055

After the eating time, it's time for the dessert and for the surprise. 127874 Wooo! We start to sing the Happy Birthday Song! Chocolate Mousse is now served. I super love the taste of this cake, best when it's cold. Very mouthwatering. Superb cake.

And most especially, the ambiance is very very cozy. Very artsy. Very delicious food, very friendly staff and the perf place. A perfect star for this 1108811088110881108811088.

Just last week, my sister, dad, and I dropped by to have some ensaymadas for take out because my dad was going to Hong Kong the next day and I wanted them to try our ensaymadas. As I've mentioned in my previous reviews, they loved the cheese rolls so why not try another cheesy treat.

Service and ambiance inside this branch were superb. One of the best I've been to aside from the SM Aura branch because of the moving hung stuff. Hahaha! They are birds flapping their wings hung from their high ceiling. Also, this branch has a second floor, making it more unique.

So I got two dozens of ensaymadas, asked them to put them nicely in their box which I tell you was super nice! Really the perfect idea for a pasalubong or Christmas giveaway to friends. Plus the card. Too bad i dint take a photo. They arrived safely in HK and my cousins loved them again! 128170🏻128170🏻 when asked if this or cheese rolls was better, they can't answer because they're both really good daw. Woohoo.

I also had my usual black velvet cake slice and it's still my favorite! This is one of those cakes that will make me genuinely happy. 128521 very happy the quality never changed. 128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻

Café Mary Grace will always be a family favorite for us. Whenever weekends are free and we don’t have anything else to do, my family goes straight to this place for great conversations over really warm and delicious food.

What makes this place so special is it’s amazing ambience. It’s almost like you’re having lunch or dinner right in the comforts of your own home. The place is so warm and personal. And those little touches like the little notes on the table from the happy customers and the knitted coasters really add to the overall ambience of the place.

Food is always great at Mary Grace. From the moment the food gets served all they way to when your plate is empty, Mary Grace never fails to disappoint. It arrives on time, tastes amazing, and worth its price. I couldn’t ask for more.

For starters, I love their Summer Squash soup. It’s so hearty and it warms your stomach really good. It reminds me so much of my childhood when I wait so eagerly for the food to arrive and all I can have while waiting is that small bowl of really warm squash soup. It makes the waiting oh-so-worth it.

If you’re looking for something fresh and healthy, you can try getting their Smoked Ham w/ Almonds, Cranberries, & Balsamic Vinaigrette. It’s really good and the vinaigrette is on point. But don’t expect it to be filling though.

Their Classic Carbonara is an instant favorite as well. It’s my mom’s favorite! I like how Mary Grace’s carbonara is a no-fuss kind of carbonara unlike other restos’ that try to complicate such a simple dish. It’s delicious, it’s very creamy, and as always it tastes like the ones your family makes at home. It’s magic.

For my favorite — it’s the sandwiches! My Joey Tribbiani side is getting giddy because Mary Grace serves probably one of my most favorite, Filipino-themed sandwiches ever. I’m talking about the Vigan Longganisa and Kesong Puti sandwich. It’s delicious and it gives this bit of crunch that’ll make you bite on it more and more. To make it more perfect, I ask for additional mayo to go with the meat. I swear it’s the most perfect combination.

And for our family’s favorite — it’s their Margherita pizza. Just look at the photo. It screams freshness! And it’s so good I wasn’t even able to take a photo of it as a whole ‘cause one of us can’t wait to get his hands on a slice. Mary Grace makes one of the best Margherita pizzas ever. I’ve tried other Margherita pizzas in other places but seriously, nothing comes close to this. It’s so good.

Now, because of this review I cannot wait to go to Café Mary Grace. I hope you try the food selection I reviewed ‘cause they’re the best. And if you have tried some of them, let me know what you think of the comments section! Café Mary Grace lovers, unite!

Last night i went out to have some tea with my friend.

We met past 7pm at Greenbelt 5 (which at that time is black out, due to generator problems) to have his dinner. I already had mine earlier so he promised we'll just have tea after.

We went to Mary Grace to have tea and desserts. I have been here many times and the ambiance of the place always keeps me cozy, just like home. And the foods are kinda pricey (for me) but it does taste goods.

So we ordered tea --Rose with French Vanilla by Dilmah. It taste good (like really drinking rose petals with vanilla) and the aroma is so sweet. At first it felt weird tasting the obvious but i liked it. Will try their other tea flavors soon.

And for the desserts, we ordered one Food for the gods, Lemon square and the Sanz Rival (topped with many cashew as you can see in the picture). I love all of them. Haha They are not so sweet and just right to their original taste (as you can see now im not really a sweet tooth person but i always loved desserts especially if the taste is just right). I loved my experience with them.

Definitely recommend this place whenever you want to just feel at home. 128077128522
