I can't believe how much SM City San Lazaro's dining options have improved through the years. It used to house just fastfood chains and some casual dining restaurants, but now, they even have Cafe Mary Grace -- and it's located by the main entrance! 128525 It opened a couple of months ago, but it wasn't until last Friday that I was able to drop by for a meal. 128522

My mom, sister, and I went to SM San Lazaro to "celebrate" the Chinese new year (Actually, it was just an excuse to eat out HA HA HA). Here's what we got for our brunch:

The serving size was pretty big, and can serve upto around 3 people when treated as an appetizer. Vegetables were fresh and properly cleaned. I loved how the garlic gave a distinct texture and taste to the salad, but the Chilli Daing Dressing tasted too similar to San Marino Corned Tuna. 🤔

✅ For Me: CHICKEN INASAL SANDWICH WITH TOMATO AND WANSOY SALSA (Php 294) - 1108811088110881108811088
This might be one of the most filling sandwich (with less guilt) I've had to date. Unlike most grilled chicken, this one's meaty but juicy (note that I hate tough breast parts of chicken), and since it's marinade is more on the herby and citrus side, it wasn't salty, but is really flavorful. The tomato and wansoy salsa added a refreshing aftertaste, something that is very much welcome. 128525 The baguette was lightly toasted, and with its firm exterior, was able to envelop the fillings really well. The potato chips on the side aren't to be ignored as well: they're perfectly crisp, not too thin, and pairs really well with the garlic mayo dip. Overall, this dish is definitely something I would surely order again. 128156

✅ For Achi: FILI BEEF & TOMATO SANDWICH (Php 294) - 110881108811088 1/2 (3.511088)
My sister loooves Mary Grace, and I feel a bit sad whenever she isn't wholly satisfied by either the food, the service, or both. 128546 She has pretty much tried every single item on their menu! 128586 For her though, the Fili Beef sandwich she had that day was too bland. At least the beef was juicy and not too chewy, and the chips were a really good pair with the sandwich. 128076

✅ For Mama: FRIED BONELESS BANGUS (Php 320) - 1108811088110881108811088
Mama loved this! This is actually the second time she got this in just a span of a few weeks. 128513 She is totally a fan: from the combinations (of main dish to rice to sides), to the taste, to the serving size. 128076 The Signature Rosemary Fried Rice is a sure winner, as its taste and aroma complements the freshness of the bangus. To balance the flavors, pickled mangoes and tomato wansoy salsa are available on the side. I'm sure she'll get this again next time. 128541

The ambiance is really nice: chic interiors, homey atmosphere, instagrammable decors. 128156 The service is something they boast of as well, as our server, Mark, was very attentive of our needs and assists us even without us asking him to do so. I appreciate how Cafe Mary Grace gives the same brand of service to everyone in every branch, giving customers enough reason to visit again and again to grab a quick meal, or to catch up with friends. (It's the ultimate Titas of MNL place!) 128076128522
