With the many dining options that we have nowadays, you have to be consistently good.

The customer pays 130 bucks for a measly and messy scoop and Cafe Maxims is done. Two stars for the cafe/resto because of this supposedly bestseller of a gelato, pistachio! Taste-wise, it's a cross between green tea and pistachio. Weird, as in weirdly bad.

Food is ok and service is good. Sorry to say, it may only take one slip-up for everything else to be bad. That's reality highlighted these days. Customers can always spend their money somewhere else.

P.S. I'm writing this as I try to finish the fast-melting gelato and get the bill.

My hubby and I went looking for a cake shop in RWM to get me a simple birthday cake before the day ends. Cafe Maxims was the nearest from Marriott Hotel. From the variety of cakes, my eyes settled on El Ferrero Cake, because of my weakness for Ferrero Rocher. The lady assisting us also mentioned that it tastes like Ferrero, so I took the bait. All I can say is that it tasted nothing like Ferrero. Birthday cake FAIL! ☹️ I'm so looking forward to the ice cream cake that my hubby ordered for me in Coldstone tomorrow!

Meet...the Crobim.

It's basically cronut moulded and baked in a pan with filling. You get to choose from vanilla, strawberry, chocolate & other flavors.

It's pretty much like your average plain old croissant. I'm thinking this was supposed to be served warm? I can imagine it being less tougher and more moist and softer if it was heated but that's just a wild guess. It also doesn't come close to the cronut. No crunch and sinful buttery goodness. Nothing really new to if except the shape and the filling, it's good none the less if you're just up to satisfying your curiosity.

This cafe has got to have one of the best seafood chowders around! There are nights when I just crave for one here and we'd head on here at midnight along with Manila's shameless gamblers hahaha The chowder is rich, creamy and does not skimp on the seafood! You can really taste actual seafood flavor which is what I love the most about if of course 9786️ Hope they don't take this out of the menu as it's constantly changing!

The food here was good especially for breakfast. They have great coffee and amazing set of sandwiches.

The place was good and the people are OK. You can pay with your gaming points if you play in the casino.

Oder this cake for the birthday of Delta Airlines station manager. The flourless chocolate P1980 of Cafe Maxims, didn't know how it taste and only based it on the presentation of the cake. 128513

But I got feedback from Delta that after their first bite, they fell in love with it almost instantly 128079128079 they said It's so smooth and melts right away What a love at first bite. 128522128077.

White Chocolate Macadamia Mousse.

Regarded as Cafe Maxim's best-selling cake, it sure stands for the title.

This cake has a very subtle taste to it that you won't get enough of eating this piece of sweet haven. The next thing you notice is you've already consumed everything on this plate.

Inside the cake are bits of Macadamia nuts that perfectly contrasts the soft texture of the cake. .

Highly Recommended. 128077

One of my favorite Cafe in the metro!

Whenever I am here I have Maxim's mango yoghurt cheesecake. It's a must try! You may share a slice with a friend or you can just stuff it all by yourself. :)

But this afternoon, I am having smoked salmon and organic leaves with yoghurt dressing. I never tasted something like this before. Superb! Plus, the presentation of the food is excellent and I must say, this is one of the best on the menu! I even ordered additional 2 of it to go. Mom's gonna love this! :)

Since it's a sunny day here in Manila, I am having fruit shakes! This is also my favorite! I make this at home as well. Try the beetroot, mango and watermelon shake. :)

If you want to have a snack, I would recommended you to try Ube ensaymada. It's best if you'd ask to heat it for a couple of seconds. Yummier when it's warm. :)

Until my next food discovery.

Your fellow café lover,
Princess

Cafe Maxims' Browned Butter Pecan Gelato. Loved the crunchy-caramel coated Pecan Nuts in the buttery-sweet-creamy gelato. Delish level of sweet-creaminess with that salty-caramel kick.

The chowder was really creamy! It tasted heavenly at first pero nakakaumay after few bites. Ok sana kung naglagay sila ng pepper.

Not a bad place for coffee and merienda. Place is pricey but the setting makes up for it. The tables are spaced widely which makes it good for meeetings as well. Service is top notch.

We had our dessert here last Valentines day. We had White Chocolate Macadamia and Pistachio. I must say they were really good, though a bit pricey. Their service, however, was really bad. Is it because it was only one of the few restaurants/cafe open that time as it was already past midnight and there were so much people? Haha, dunno. I'll come back anyways to try their meals.

Desserts looks good. But pricey. We bought gelatos placed in a sugar cone yesterday. The pistachio I really want to try but ubos na.. So I settled for salted caramel. If I'm not mistaken yung nakadisplay nilang prices dun isn't inclusive of vat + service charge yet.
