We ate here after having dinner next door. We were looking forward to trying the mango bingsu!!!!! BUT!!!! They were out of mangoes! 128561128561128561128561

So we settled for the berry cheesecake bingsu.128557

✔️ The ice was super melt in your mouth. It would disappear immediately!!
✔️ As long as it was kept in the cold metal bowl, the ice doesn't melt as fast.
✔️ The berries were okay.

❌ Not a fan of whipped cream...
❌ The cheesecake bits weren't great. 128533 I'm a huge cheesecake fan (and we used to bake) so I'm quite picky with how a cheesecake tastes.

I would need another visit to try the Mango Bingsu for Cafe Seolhwa Bingsu to redeem itself for me.

I liked it. It's my first time by the way.
I am a chocolate lover but I enjoyed the berry cheese more than that of the brownie bingsu. though I liked the cereals of it.lols
Will love to try the mango bingsu next time. 🙂

Sweets overload in this place!Love the strawberry and mango flavors although the mango is not as sweet as i expect. Haha. The servings are big. Nakakabusog talaga. If you are a fan of korean desserts then you should go here.

I wish they knew that their best-selling flavor is matcha so that they bring it back. Though I haven't had it before, with the growing number of matcha lovers, I know it would be a hit.

I ordered mango bingsu single size. Still the same creamy snow ice, but the mango was sour! I guess it's just not in season. Minus 1 star coz no wifi. I wanted to get some personal work done sana but wasn't able to.

Ordered the three best sellers- milk brownie, mango cheesecake and berry cheesecake. It was a different experience trying out this Korean dessert, it's like trying out a foreign halo-halo. The single serving could feed two who are not hungry.

Simply put, the new bingsu creations from cafe seolhwa are fantastic~ 5 stars!

They're not your typical bingsu flavors as they are part of cafe seolhwa's cake series bingsu -> recreating cakes in the form of bingsu! Very creative!

They've got 2 flavors for now:
- Tiramisu bingsu
- Berry yogurt cake bingsu

Visually the bingsu's don't appear like a mountain of ice. Instead they have flat, coated tops designed after the cakes they represent. The berry yogurt bingsu is topped with berry yogurt "icing" with fresh blueberry & strawberry pieces. The tiramisu version is topped with a layer of coffee cream and dusted with cocoa powder, icing sugar, and coffee bean pieces. Very, very pretty!

But the real magic comes when you dig in! They layers underneath also somehow mimic the layers and flavors you'd find in the cakes they represent (with cafe seolhwa's own twist of course).

Definitely a must try! Though i think this is only available in their BGC branch for now...

Lastly, if you want to get a better idea of what i'm talking about... let me paste the promotional text from cafe seolhwa's fb. They described it so much better than i can ever do it... and in very, very Korean way too! 999612851610084128153

I'm a matcha lover and I definitely need to try their version of Matcha. We came all the way from Manila to visit this place in Taguig. Yes, with all the traffic especially in EDSA. All the love for Matcha. The Matcha was good we enjoyed eating it. When we went to order, we suggested to order in advance so while we wait for a vacant seat they can prepare our order. But the staff said they can't do that we have to be seated before taking an order. Because their place is small, it can't accommodate a lot of people. Of course you have to wait, but I think to accommodate customers, their staff should do something about it. Maybe pull a table good for 2 when only 2 people are sitting in a good for 4 table right?

Their mango and cheese bingsu is the best! The original branch in bgc is better than the one in century mall. I hope they will bring back the green tea flavor soon.

Bingsu! Stopped by Seolhwa for a quick pick-me-up after my 11 hour shift.  I picked Injeolmi Bingsu this time.  The goal is try all flavors.  I am saving Green Tea for the main event.

Refreshing as always,  the shaved ice is the star of the show.  And oh,  the rice cakes is slowly growing on me #KakaninForTheWin

I went on a Sunday afternoon with my sister and the place was packed. So packed that I was having second thoughts about lining up to order as we might not have a table to eat our dessert. Luckily 2 people vacated a table so off I went to line up.

To order, you'd need to line up at the counter. After ordering we were then told that it'll take about 30 minutes for our bing su to arrive. Wow. Thanks for letting us know after we've ordered. I hoped that the cashier told us before ordering. Maybe a strategy to ensure customers don't end up leaving the store? Maybe. But still, not a good customer service experience. That plus the cashier wasn't really pleasant. Probably because it was really busy? Like diner dash busy... But still...

The tables and chairs were too many for the space so the place was cramped. Not a place to go to talk about your life's secrets unless you want people on the next table to hear your stories too. 128518

We got the large brownie bing su to share and a raspberry flavored iced tea. The bing su was in a heavy cooper bowl that came on a wooden tray and a dessert spoon.

The ice was finely shaved - so fine that it felt like sorbet. It was also milky since it was combined with chocolate milk. I noticed that it took awhile before the ice melted. The ice was topped with brownie squares, almond shavings, chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup. As you dig in you'll also find pieces of kokocrunch cereal.

The verdict... I liked it but I guess I'll have to go for mango and cheese or another fruit like strawberry. I have a sweet spot for chocolate and I felt that brownies and ice shavings don't go too well.

Will I go back? Yes, when it gets too hot again.

First time to dine at Seolhwa's BGC Branch.  I usually go to their Makati Branch for proximity reasons.  This branch is near work but for some reason my bingsu cravings are shot down with my desire to go home early.

And oddly enough,  this is the only branch that has the green tea variant.  I was dead set to get the GT Bingsu but the universe is conspiring against me.  They dont have matcha powder!!!!  *cries silently*

I've tried almost all of their flavors except for the chocolate based ones - not a fan of chocolate.  I was left with Injeolmi and Patbingsu.  I picked the latter because i had a sudden flashback of my trip to Carousel Creamery.  I liked the red bean ice cream and i figured the taste will be similar.

I got a tower of milk infused shaved ice,  topped with red beans and rice cakes.  Of all the bingsu places I've visited,  Seolhwa stands out because of the consistency of their shaved ice.

"Mamahalin ang pangkaskas ng yelo. " sabi ni Aling Crising.

Patbingsu is a classic Korean Shaved Ice Dessert.  The red beans adds the sweet guilt free element whilst the rice cake takes care of the chewy aspect.  The rice cakes reminds me of a kakanin Grams used to prepare when i was a kid.  Anyone here familiar with Galapong?  I dunno the English term but it is like sticky rice,  Grams used to fry them with some arnibal.

Overall,  i liked Seolhwa's Patbingsu.  The shaved ice is always the star of the ice infused treat,  the red bean and the rice cakes is a bonus.
