Consistency -- What I 10084️ about Cafe Via Mare.
The taste of food has since been constant since I first tried them out at their T. Morato Branch (IMO).

We ordered the following: (no photos, sorry!)

| Bibingka with salted duck egg (130php) -- 127775127775127775127775

| Ginataang Halo-halo (98php) -- 127775127775127775127775

Their servings are good for sharing. 128076🏻

Another happy tummy for me 9786

Late post...

Had Lunch yesterday at Via Mare. I can say this is one of my go to places when I crave for Filipino dishes. What I love about this place is dishes are just straight to the point, prices for some dishes are a bit high, however the serving portion can be enough for 2 or for one, should you have a big appetite! 128521

We got...

Spicy Tuyo - one of my fav dishes in their menu. Nothing more to say...but a 11088110881108811088️ for me.

Adobong Pusit - not so sure if my palette heightened my salty tastebud...but for this specific instance the sauce of the squid is kinda salty for me...so it's just a 1108811088️ for me.

Sinigang na Karne - upon my first sip of the broth, I expected to taste the tangy broth of the tamarind...but I expected too much as the broth was salty overpowering the sour taste. Beef ribs was cooked perfectly! The menu said it was good for 2 but I think it may be even good for 3. For this visit, it's just a 1108811088️ for me...

Overall, this visit is a 110881108811088️ for me.

Just a 128221, most of there dishes are like value meals as majority of the food goes together with a cup of 127834 and a side dish.

Dining here was a pleasant surprise 128522 I typically try not to eat in Filipino restaurants when I eat out for dinner because of the carbs (#dietkunwari), but my friend and I couldn't decide where to eat one fateful Saturday night. Our feet brought us here so I just planned to order the food with the least carbs Via Mare can offer 128523

I ordered Fresh Lumpia Ubod and Tortang Alimasag (I didn't eat the rice128513). While my friend ordered Pansit Luglog and their famous Bibingka. My favorite was the bibingka as it was served still slightly warm, and was really tasty. The saltiness of the laguna cheese and salted duck egg perfectly balanced the sweet flavor and soft texture of this Filipino kakanin.

Needless to say, everything tasted really good128077🏼 Each order was good for 1-2 people, so unsurprisingly, we ordered and ate too much (#whatdiet).

Service was fast enough, considering it was dinner time on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Ambiance wasn't that pleasing--it was a bit crowded and noisy as it was just a few steps away from Landmark department store.

But overall, the visit warrants a return in the future, mainly because of the food quality and quantity 128522

One Saturday afternoon, I was feeling quite hungry and decided to take a quick snack in one of my childhood favorite restaurant. I longed for the warm and filling arroz caldo and their tasty puto bumbong.

My walk down the memory lane was shattered by a bland and soupy chicken porridge; nothing close to what I remember. And the sticky glutinous rice was without flavor 128532128553128557 woe to the memory, reversed by reality!

Shopped a little then my brother-in-law would like to try the brewed coffee. As I would like to sit down and rest, I ordered the puto bumbong. Yes, they offer this even if it's not Christmas time! :)

It's a bit pricey. You can see in the picture, two pieces lang for 80php :( additional fee pa for the grated cheese. But ang sarap nya sobra!! 10084️ Presentation and taste, check!! Unlike the normal puto bumbong na nasa top na yung niyog and cheese. And I think what makes theirs special is the brown thing, mom said it's panutsa :D

The place is nice. Plus very attentive waiter kahit andaming costumers 128077

Btw, my borther-in-law said that the coffee is great. Ganun daw yung type nya, yung matapang kasi pure yung pagka-brew :)

After the boys' movie, the group decided to have a quick bite and an all-Filipino merienda sounded just right.

We got the following to share: Guinataang Halo-Halo, Pancit Luglog, Lugaw Toppings and Dinuguan at Puto. And two boys got Inasal na Manok and Arroz Ala Cubana for their snacks 128561

The guinataan had ample variety of ingredients and wasn't too sweet.

The pancit was seasoned perfectly! No need for calamansi!

The lugaw toppings was also very filling.

The dinuguan was simply yummy, I had to get rice from hubby's inasal to make it more perfect for me!

Saraaaap!!! Glad that Via Mare is able to consistently deliver great Filipino favorites!

The one and only place my mum would eat merienda when we are in the Makati area. Seriously. If my mum and I would go shopping at Landmark and when she says the words "Anak, I'm hungry na. Let's have merienda.", she means "Let's go to Cafe via Mare. Walang kokontra."

I am not a fan of Pancit Luglog. But their luglog is sooooo tastey that I always find myself ordering it every single time. 128525128525128525 I actually prefer this over Razon's 128540

Their Bibingka with Salted Duck Egg is lovely. Sweet, warm and fluffy, just the right amount of salted egg in it and a generous amount of niyog. (Bottom photo)

Their shooters were so-so. Medyo matabang. But it was good :) (Top photo)

Friendly staffs, the service is good but a bit slow.

I always found it a little weird that its located inside a dept. store haha 128541

Been having merienda here for years and we have never been disappointed. 5 stars 128522128077

Filipino merienda at it's best! I ordered my usual puto bumbong and bibinka with keso de bola (bahala na carbs on carbs!). We also had pancit luglog, loaded with shrimps and egg. Perfect merienda (pwede na early dinner?!). Bibinka is also available with salted eggs, also yummy.

First time to order the Laguna cheese on pandesal and it was good! Just enought saltiness. 128516

And oh, Happy Independence day! Grab your favorite kakanin now.

Their puto bungbong is truly unmatched, their pansit palabok is so tasty. The main dishes like rellenong bangus has no frills but was able to really satisfy my cravings. We can say, this is one of our " home grown" restaurant.
Location is just perfect when you get tired shopping inside the department store.. I love to be away from the mall area where many people can see you while you eat.
One thing though, I am not happy with their service, every waiter is sooo busy ( and there's lots of them) they seem to avoid any eye contact with their customers. I think their management should overhaul this attitude. Because in other countries, it is rude to raise your hand to call for service in a restaurant.

Good food.. What I don't get though is the location.. I'm sure other branches have a much more suitable location but the ones that I know of are located inside a department store... Or naybe just the landmark branches... Oh well...

I love their puto bumbong so much! :) I eat here because of the "kakanin"; haven't really tried their main dishes and I dunno why.. The lumpiang ubod was good so i'm thinking that the other dishes should be good also.. 128525

I would give them a 5 star rating if not for the slow service, given that the place isn't that packed with customers. 128542 but overall the place and food was nice.. 128513 also reasonably priced...128076
