Comfort Filipino food.

Price a tad higher, but given the serving size, it is worth it. Loved the fish, fern salad, and tinapa fried rice. Finished the meal off with coffee. They have good coffee here too.

Also of note, they have great puto bumbong, bibingka, and mango with sticky rice. Pair that off with their rich chocolate, its an ultimate snack!

Will keep on coming back here.

Thirty minutes to wait for our lunch! And that was just us! Its ok if they serve the seniors first but at least inform the customers.

Will never come back.

Mediocre food: super meh crispy adobo flakes. Dry and ugh just not worth the P300+ (ok lang sana yung price but the food was nothing special)

Poor service: weekday lunch time crowd, surprisingly punong-puno and we got there past 1 na ah! they lack waiters. Super kulang to the point na I had to flail my arms. Horror.

Also, there was this lone langaw that kept bugging us 128530

Sana nag Rodics nalang ako. Or UP Town.

We are fan of Bibingka. Pero when we decided to order this hindi OK. I mean buhaghag siya. Putobumbongbong hindi din masarap. Something is missing :(
About the kare-Kare average taste nothing special and pricey.

Upon entering the restaurant, it would seem that the place looks very inviting. And you know that they did not skimp on the interior design as well as the furniture.

However, that is mostly the good thing about it. As my boyfriend received a Php 500 gift cheque for this particular branch, he was quite curious about the restaurant and was willing to splurge a little more for our date.

Sadly, we realized that that gift cheque was somewhat good for one meal. The BF ordered the Vigan Longganisa meal (Php 325), and I had the Spicy Tuyo meal (Php 198). The longganisa was nothing remarkable, and truth be told, waaaay overpriced. The Tuyo, on the other hand, was not remotely spicy. In fact, it was too salty, that I wasn't able to finish the serving. In retrospect, I realize that I can recreate the exact same meals at home, and the dining experience wasn't very worth it.

And the verdict? Food was not memorable, service was also mediocre. I might not go here any time soon, and I won't be willing to shell out a lot of money for food that I can cook at home. It's a good thing that we dined here for free (almost), but otherwise, I won't be too excited to come back here.

pinoy classic favorites for a rainy day: dinuguan+chicken arroz caldo

got the favorite pinoy classics from via mare. still tasty, still favorites. as they say, you can't go wrong with a classic. the only down side is they charge P100 if you plug in your device. and they told me this after i plugged my laptop. ridiculous.

Quite pricey but everything was decent enough. Had bulalo, ensaladang bagnet, and suman with mangga. There are lots of other more affordable places to dine at with even better food 128076

My family's "safe place to land" when it comes to Filipino comfort food! Haha! 128539

My "usual" is their chicken and pork adobo. In their Rockwell branch it was much tastier but in this one it's a little more dry. Still really good though! (Or maybe the reason I love it is because of childhood memories but whatever! 128517)

I'd recommend their bibingka, tortang alimasag, pandesal with kesong puti and their mais con yelo 128522 Good service too!

I have no words to express how I love their bibingka since time immemorial. I usually order it with Laguna cheese devoid of other salty add-ons like salted duck egg slices or queso de bola. I like savoring the rice cake without too much toppings. We also ordered arroz ala cubana and tortang alimasag. Both were delightful.

I had a long day and wanted something sweet and cold to counter the weather. Good thing we had an after lunch meeting at Via Mare!

I couldn't really decide which cold treat to get so I settled for their Shooters! It's kinda like a dessert sampler with small versions of their halo-halo, mais con hielo, and guinomis.

At first maybe you'd think it'll come in shot glasses, or something near that size. Nah, it was served in three short glasses but it's not particularly for sharing. 128527

I liked Guinomis the most. It had crushed ice, coconut milk, pinipig, sago, sweet gulaman, and the syrup they put on taho. It may taste a bit off cause it's kinda sour from the coconut milk and the soury-sweetness of the syrup. A different twist to your usual sago't gulaman with the crunchiness of the pinipig. 128076

The mais con hielo was simply just milk, sugar, ice, and mashed corn kernels. Now mashing the corn kernels resulted to a thick consistency that maybe brings out more of the corn flavor? Haha!

Last but not the least, the halo-halo! It's nothing special but the ube and the leche flan that was put in it was really good. Both the ube and leche flan had that smooth and creamy melt-in-your mouth texture which had a subtle sweetness. The leche flan tasted like the one in Razon's. Can they add these two in their menu?

Definitely getting the big version of Guinomis next time!

Via Mare is definitely the place to go to for Filipino food. They have variety, and generally all their food got thumbs up from my relatives but I only got to eat 2 dishes.

The oysters were deeeeelicious! Definitely 5 stars. The adobo flakes were okay, to me it lacked flavor. Bibingka and gulaman - 4 stars.

Lots of people waiting in line shows that a lot of others like it too, but their service was a bit slow.
