After our disappointing experience at the nearby Finio Restaurant, we headed to Via Mare a few doors up the street. The service was impeccable and prompt. The tinapang bangus and dilis were sumptuous! We got 2 brewed coffee refills.

Even if we had to pay more for food and service it was worth it. Thumbs up!

#loolooandroidreview naman

Filipino food! 128530
But i say it was a good experience
Servers were nice
The place was mediocre. Not large not small

We ordered
Tuyo rice was yummy. The aroma of tuyo was there and has the right saltines

The calcag rice. I kinda had difficulty with the sun dried shrimps there. Nakakatusok. Hehe.

Beef sinigang was really sour and the meat tenderness was really really good

Lumpia was ordinary. Not so remarkable. Always had to go with the vinegar.

Beef caldereta. My, i really loved the green pitted olives in there. The meat was tender too but not as tender as in the sinigang.

Pinalutong na tilapia was also good. The fish was crispy and fluffy

Tortang talong was ordinary. They serve u banana ketchup. Pwede tomato??

Oyster rockafella was very tasty. Oyster with cheese and bacon and that green leaf thing... Haha. Good with tabasco and a pinch of rock salt

Pinangat was their newest addition to the menu. For me it was the star. It tasted like laing with the goodness of cocomilk. The protein included was the grounded shrimp.

Shots (desserts) composed of mini halohalo, mais con hielo and sagot gulaman. Ayos lang nmn. Really filipino.

Yesterday, i got a super late dinner with my parents and ordered this cutie dessert, Shooters for only PhP98! Its a sampler of Guinumis, Mais con Yelo, and Halo-Halo.

And i gotta commend their staff for being extra attentive even if we're the last customers. 128077

The pako salad was so-so, I couldn't really taste the dressing so much and the onion was too thickly cut that it overpowered the entire salad's flavor. Their corned beef Sinigang was so nice and maasim! Lots of veggies inside too. Didn't really care much for their pancit palabok which I thought also tasted bland. For dessert their ginataang halo halo was good enough for three solo servings so it was a good deal. I'm not a big fan of Filipino food which is maybe why I wasn't so keen on this place except for the Sinigang which I found so flavorful.

Went here for what was supposed to be a light dinner. Ordered the Pancit Luglug for myself and it was really filling! The sauce was amazing, flavorful but not overpowering. They were very generous with the toppings as well with loads of egg, shrimp and squid.

Had fresh dalandan juice to go with the meal and it had to be one of the best dalandan juices I've had ever. Sweet, tart and incredibly refreshing. I wasn't even looking for water afterward.

Their staff, from the guard to the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Our annual April 9/November 2 after-the-cemetery-breakfast brought us to Via Mare this time.

This branch has been around for years now and they really need A LOT of renovating. Lights are too dim, the couch was sinking, the tables aren't the freshest of them all. I guess people just really go for the food no matter how uncomfortable the place feels like.

I forgot what my parents ordered but my brother ordered the Sun-Dried Crispy Tapa while I had Guinataang Halo-Halo.

The sirloin tapa was still as good as I've always remembered it to be. Crisp and crunchy, always good to pair with heaps of rice and vinegar. My Guinataang Halo-Halo was good as well. It was my first time to order this in the restaurant and I was expecting a fair amount of bola-bola but there were only, like, two pieces. 128563 Nevertheless, the coconut cream broth with purple yam, fruits and sweet potato were happily digested in my stomach. 9786

We also had an additional order of Puto Maya. I think this is the Filipino version/name for Mango Sticky Rice? HAHA! It's such a simple and delicate dish to prepare, I don't think one should ever go wrong!

The best place for kakanin! I love their Palitaw, Puto Bumbong, Puto Maya and Bibingka. The quality is never compromised! Freshly cooked and well presented. :)

Had boneless bangus for brekky. (270 pesos) the taste was okay. Had sinigang also, it's fine. Quite pricey for the taste.

Personal favorite: Crispy binagoongan. I also love their scrambled eggs. Tried the Pinais na Alimasag the other day and loved it!! What I like about Via Mare is that they serve simple Pinoy food, authentic tasting. However, the price range is not that budget-friendly..
